Chapter 11/4
🐻🐻🐻
Bang Chan was happy. Extremely happy. So happy that Woojin couldn't even get his eyes off of him for a mere second. He didn't know why he was so happy but, Chan was radiant. His smile was so big and bright that Woojin was feeling like it was a sunny day of Spring instead of pure winter.
After Chan had hugged him like his life depended on that and basically killed every working neuron in Woojin's brain, he had let him go and smiled at him with such a big smile that Woojin melted even more. And the fact that for some reason, the curly haired boy was extremely red, was just deadly cute. In a span of like 10 minutes, Woojin felt like he had been killed over a thousand times. And he definitely was not complaining at all.
However, the now denominated love of his life was euphorically smiley and beaming, without an apparent explanation. At least not for Woojin. But whatever was it, it was okay because seeing Chan smile like that was everything for him. And by the end of the morning classes, Woojin was completely sure that he hadn't paid attention to at least an 80% of all the lessons. Minho and Chan would have to help him study later on. It was partly Chan's fault for being such a sunshine too.
They were walking through the hallways as usually and Chan was basically walking like a penguin with a bright smile on his face. Woojin couldn't resist the impulse of pulling Chan into a weird side hug. And big was his surprise when Chan just laughed, smiled again, and then rounded Woojin's waist with both arms. This was a really uncomfortable way of walking, but it was funny and they probably looked like they were drunk. But who cared? They were seniors and only a few weeks from graduating. They gave a damn fuck about people glancing weirdly at them.
"Why are you so happy?" Woojin asked, with a smile on his face.
Chan shrugged, smiling. Woojin laughed. What about you? Chan asked, moving his lips and Woojin got it on the first try, proud of himself as he had improved a lot at reading lips.
"Me? I'm normal," Woojin said, and Chan looked at him raising an eyebrow. "What? The only one that is bubbly and happy here is you. I'm only happy because you seem to be enjoying something I ignore."
And Chan blushed and looked away, causing Woojin to try and think if he had said anything wrong. But to him, nothing really sounded bad in his head. And Chan hadn't separated from him, which meant that probably he hadn't said anything wrong.
"Hey," Woojin called and rested his free hand on Chan's cheek. "Is everything okay?"
Chan faced him and the blush on his cheeks intensified, Everything is better than okay, he answered him.
Woojin smiled softly, "Then I'll believe you," he said and ruffled Chan's hair.
Woojin was living. He was really in heaven now. Because although he and Chan were probably best friends at the moment, they didn't use to have a lot of skin-ship between them. But Woojin loved hugs and everything that came with them, and Chan suddenly becoming clingy, was just amazing. And he was glad that whatever seemed to be bothering his mind when he arrived at school, was apparently gone now.
When they arrived at the cafeteria, Felix, Changbin, and Seungmin were already sitting at their everyday table. They were having a random conversation that Woojin wasn't really caring about, not when he had Chan with his arms wrapped around him.
"Oh!" Felix exclaimed when he saw Chan and Woojin walking towards them while hugging, and Changbin and Seungmin turned around to see what had caught Felix's attention, both slightly opening their mouth before the picture in front of them.
"To what do we owe that you are so happy?" Seungmin asked them when they were already in front of the table.
Woojin sat down and smiled, "We? Not sure, actually," he answered, and Seungmin frowned. "The one that is all smiley today is Chan," he explained and chuckled.
"Why, tho?" Felix asked, looking at Chan with a disconcerted expression. And Chan, being the Chan of that day, shrugged.
"I just am," Chan answered and Woojin felt amazing when he didn't need Seungmin's translation to understand.
"Anyways, it is cool that you're happy, whatever it is," Changbin said, smiling and resting his face on his hand. "How was Australia?"
"It was amazing!" Felix exclaimed, "And hot as hell," he added grimacing.
And that's how the conversation took a different course, leaving Chan's happiness behind. And the rest of the group's members arrived eventually, all getting infected by Chan's bright mood.
As they talked, it started to snow outside. It wasn't a lot of snow, just a few snowflakes falling down to the ground and probably disappearing instantly since it wasn't cold enough. And Woojin found himself remembering the last day of school before winter break when he and Chan had gone to the park that was near the school. Because between conversations, the boys mentioned about it and how pretty it was, but Chan admitted he'd never gone there. So Woojin, taking advantage of the situation, had offered himself to take Chan there that afternoon.
But they weren't expecting that a few minutes after they got there, it started to snow and they had to run and cover themselves in a small convenience store close to the park.
In the beginning, for Woojin it was a little bit sad they hadn't had the chance to actually enjoy the park that was yet covered with white snow outside of the walking roads. But Chan made sure of telling him that it was okay and that he was actually enjoying how unexpected it was.
That day, they ate at the convenience store. Preparing warm ramen and kimbap. In the end, they had a lot of fun just eating in the convenience store while the snow kept pouring down outside for a few hours. And then they walked to Woojin's house since it was the closest one, laughing and joking all the way there. Chan ended sleeping at Woojin's house since the roads got a lot of snow and it wasn't advisable to drive in those conditions. Honestly, they talked for hours and hours in Woojin's room and ended up falling asleep together, when they weren't really supposed to.
Their last day of school was the 23rd, and for the first time in a lot of years, Woojin wasn't alone or with the servants in the morning of Christmas Eve.
Woojin's parents weren't bad. They actually cared about him more than the general rich parents do, but they had a lot of work. Which led to having less time to actually spend it with him. And although they made sure to show him that he was important, they weren't really present a lot of times. It wasn't like Woojin cared a lot, the people from the service were somehow his family too since most of them had been there since before he was even born. But waking up and finding Chan sleeping next to him, with his hair made a real disaster, enlightened his day like nothing else could do.
"Woojin hyung," somebody called him, he turned around and realized it was Jeongin. "We were talking about your graduation, weren't you listening?" The youngest one asked.
"Oh, sorry. I got distracted for a moment," Woojin made a slightly embarrassed face.
"More like for a life," Jisung interrupted. "Anyways, we were asking if you guys are excited since it's just in like four weeks from now."
Woojin thought about it for a while. He was happy, yes, but it also made him feel worried and nostalgic. He would study business. And that was for sure since he was the only heir of his parents' company. He wasn't really angry at the idea, he liked it. And he could study music as a minor and do it in his free time. However, college and university were two big words for every high school student. And then there was the other factor, he, Chan and Minho would be graduating that year, which meant they'd had less time to spend with the others and he would miss them undoubtedly.
"I am, but I will miss you, guys," Woojin ended saying, and his friends started making an aw sound.
"I will too," Chan said, with a sudden sad expression on his face that Woojin didn't like at all.
"We will keep on meeting for sure," Hyunjin said, "Even if you don't have the time or whatever, we'll pop up at random hours at your houses, hyungs," he stated, pointing at them with his plastic fork.
"Yeah, you won't be free from us that easily," Jisung said and this time he pulled Minho into a strange hug. "And if you make new friends, don't dare change us for them, we will always be first."
And Woojin noticed that Jisung was trying to express something different in a playful tone. It was obvious that Jisung would miss Minho a lot, they had been together always they could lately. It was definitely their way of spending all the time they had left with the other.
"And talking about the graduation, you can expect us to be there too, you won't get free from us making you all embarrassed," Changbin joined it, and all of them laughed at his statement.
The conversations went on and Chan leaned onto Woojin, resting his head on the older' shoulder. Woojin distractedly stroke his hair and Chan closed his eyes at the feeling. It wasn't like the others in the table didn't notice this, they did. But they didn't want to ruin the moment those two were having in their own little world. It was cute to see them like this, slowly advancing and basically looking like an actual couple, relaxed even with all the noise of the cafeteria.
