22 Disguised Trouble
Elsa followed after the ice Jack which was on the loose. She petted Snow who was making anxious noises as it flew.
"I know, I screwed up again by making animate ice magic without thinking much," Elsa spoke to Snow who purred deeply.
The Ice Jack kept dodging the shots which Elsa made with her powers. Soon they would be over the ocean and flying above land. The fact that they would reach her country quite fast wasn't pleasing her.
"Don't you dare to freeze—" She began to yell but it was too late. The ice Jack was creating like an icy trail for her to follow after. Desperately she kept now unfreezing the ground where people lived and were probably wondering why there was snow and ice in the middle of summer.
It seemed like it was heading somewhere since it didn't seem lost and most of all, it didn't bounce everywhere mindlessly. There was a clear destination for the ice Jack. Then Elsa knew where it was headed when she saw the familiar mountains of Arendelle.
Her chaise after her creation continued over the village. People were slipping on the streets as the ground below their feet was frozen solid. Elsa kept focusing on undoing the destruction which the ice Jack tried to accomplish and couldn't try to stop it.
The ice Jack arrived to Arendelle's castle. It circled in the air around the watch towers . Elsa made Snow fly still in the air since it was a big dragon and couldn't land near the castle or town.
"I order you to stop!" Elsa roared "Hear your creator!"
Elsa gasped when the ice Jack flew inside Elsa's bedroom in Arendelle's castle after totally ignoring her order. She had to unfreeze the balcony doors since he had already gone in before her blast of ice that she tried to use to stop him.
"Thank you Snow!" Elsa exhaled as she hopped down to her balcony and waved her hand to thaw the door.
When she went inside her bedroom she tried to see what kind of mess the ice Jack had made. However everything seemed intact and for a moment she looked for him.
"DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!" Elsa shouted when the ice Jack approached her desk. On the desk she had Jack's memory tube, his clothes were framed on the wall and the two pieces of his staff were hang next to it.
She frowned when the ice Jack stuck his icy tongue out and ignored her. Slowly it went closer and climbed on the desk, accidentally dropping the tube down.
"I said, DON'T" Elsa shrieked and used her thawing power.
The shattering sound of glass made her heart nearly break. She covered her mouth in shock as she watched at the frames which had dropped down from the wall when she missed the ice Jack and hit on the frame which had Jack's clothes. Tears began to fall as the clothes had been ruined by her.
Elsa sobbed once and looked at the ice Jack who was floating with its back against the ceiling.
"This is your fault!" She cried. "Come down so I can get rid of you," she mumbled and regretted that she ever tried making something like that – ice poltergeist.
The ice Jack shrugged and landed down. Elsa wiped away her tears but just when she was about to wave her hand and thaw that thing it grabbed to the staff pieces on the wall. It laughed as it threw the ice version of Jack's staff in front of Elsa's thawing powers.
"Put it back!" Elsa begged and held her hands. She didn't dare to do anything since that staff meant the world to her, the crooked wooden piece of wood that belonged to her hearts chosen one.
"No, no, no NO!" Elsa gasped when the ice Jack slammed the two pieces of the staff against each other roughly and turned its back towards her.
Then her eyes widened as the room turned cold, the place began to sparkle in the different shades of blue as the staff sent frosted sparks. She took a step back until she was against the wall. She watched how the sparks made the ice Jack's body to crack all over but the staff, it started to glow.
Then the sparks disappeared, the glow vanished. She looked at the cracked figure which turned around while holding the staff which was now as one. It had fixed Jack's staff.
And just when Elsa dared to smile a bit the ice Jack slammed the other end of the crooked staff against the floor. It made a gust of wind blow and couple chairs knocked down. Her heart felt painful when the ice shards of ice Jack began to fall as he had been broken. Somehow she felt unease to see her ice creation to disappear.
"Did you miss me baby snow?"
Elsa stared at the sight without words. The ice Jack was gone but now she faced something different. She shook in a mix of fear and something else as he approached her. She responded with an unsure smile which made him to smirk.
And that smirk melted her heart which then bounced faster as she felt the crooked side of the staff to go around her waist and pull. The sharp pull was enough to make her to bump against him.
"Jack?" Elsa exhaled quietly just before he placed the tips of his cold fingers on her cheek, still approaching her.
Then he kissed her, Elsa's eyes closed as the cool and soft thin lips first brushed against hers. He cupped her cheek and deepened the kiss with Elsa whose lips tasted sweeter than anything and out powered the salty taste of her happy tears. She felt warm and innocent but he was leading their first kiss, causing it to be a bit teasing and exploring.
They only separated from the kiss because both of them needed some air, they breathed in and out deeply while looking at each other. Elsa noticed for a moment a pink shade on his lips as the kiss had warmed him up but soon it turned pale again as he was the spirit of winter in flesh.
Elsa smiled and kept shedding tears as her shaking hand reached to stroke the bangs away from the way of his cyan blue eyes.
"How?" She asked and her delicate fingers brushed through his silvery white hair which felt soft and fluffy at the same time. She dared to place her arms around his slender body.
"You wanna know how?" Jack hummed and scratched his neck. His skin was glowing a bit as he couldn't blush like normal people, but still you could know that at this moment she made his heart move.
Elsa nodded and caressed his back gently while keeping her eyes at him, in case that he would disappear again.
"When you decided to make a replica of me, well, I used the chance to unite with it. You see, the winter spirit still had my memories but to get some form – it was a bit problematic. However I was always there, I never left your side..." Jack smiled and stroked her cheek, "—I was the warm air that caressed your cheek when you cried, I was the whisper in the wind."
Jack's words made Elsa to blush but still she leaned her head against his hand.
"Never?" Elsa asked shyly.
"Never," Jack hummed and pressed his nose against Elsa's before grinning. She blushed deeper and then slapped his arm.
"YOU! You stared me even in the shower?" Elsa gasped and frowned a bit annoyed.
"Uh, well not exactly... but sometimes I might have brushed over your skin like this – but it was just the wind," Jack teased her as his finger brushed over her skin on her neck.
"That's not funny," Elsa whined and made Jack to laugh warmly. The sound of his laughter was the best kind of music to her ears and she hugged him.
"Elsa... I am sorry for being away for too long, I am sorry for leaving you and ignoring you because of my selfishness," Jack whispered and hugged her back as he closed his eyes.
"It is alright, I am just happy that you are here – I thought that I lost you," Elsa sobbed and buried her face against his chest. The smell of his filled her nose and she felt calmer.
"Likewise," Jack responded and stroked her hair.
Elsa kept staring at the guardian of fun. Still it felt hard to believe that he was actually here. Slowly she placed her hand on his chest and she smiled when his breathing made her hand to rise.
"Now when I remember everything, from the day when we first met... I feel a bit - anxious," Jack admitted and rolled a strand of her hair around his front finger.
Elsa nodded, "I get your point. But still it was unfair!"
"What was?" Jack ran his hand through his hair nervously and blinked innocently.
"When you kept trying to push me back," Elsa frowned and crossed her arms sassily.
"Oh, you mean at Transylvania for example?" Jack wondered and smiled slyly.
"Yes, that is one example. I fell for you SO many times, still you kept dodging me with different excuses," Elsa snapped and turned around.
Jack laughed and touched her shoulder.
"There's still that slight thing called age difference which is kind of stressing me," Jack smiled nervously as he made her to turn around.
"You look like you're in your early twenties Jack, I don't see a problem at all," Elsa pointed out and glared at him.
"And I thought that we had a little romantic moment just a couple minutes ago,"Jack gulped and felt surprised by her actions.
"Yes but now I remember why I am angry at you," Elsa sighed and her looks saddened.
"Elsa, I am hundreds of years older than you," Jack sighed and dared to approach her.
Elsa startled when he touched her and her powers got out of hand for a moment. The room darkened into black at that moment and the glowing yellow eyes of the Nightmare King were watching at them from the corner. Jack noticed him as he clutched his hoodie.
"Get lost you..." Jack shouted and managed to use his ice powers to dispel the dark matter from the room though his heart was freezing.
"Jack... what have I done to you," Elsa panicked and ran to support him.
Jack smiled even though he fell on his knees, "Haha, don't worry.." His voice was a whisper and he reached his hand to touch her cheek.
"I froze your heart," Elsa sobbed and hugged him.
"Yes but it is feeling better now that you're actually hugging me and not nagging," Jack hummed and embraced her. "Your powers can't hurt me when I have my powers back," he explained and his heart was back to normal. Still he worried of the appearance of the Nightmare King.
"You scared the hell out from me!" Elsa gasped and slapped his arm but hugged him again while laughing from relief.
Jack closed his eyes and snuggled against her lovingly, "Yeah... sorry... anyway you didn't let me finish."
"Finish?" Elsa sounded a bit surprised.
"About the age difference dilemma," Jack hummed and kissed her forehead.
"Right," Elsa sounded sad again.
"Mavis and Johnny made it to work though Mavis is actually way older than him. Plus I am not giving up on my Zing girl that easily, just your presence is so... addicting," Jack wondered and made Elsa to blush.
"But Johnny is a vampire too," Elsa mumbled and touched her hair nervously.
"He used to be a human, like you – nah, I will not ask them to turn you into a vampire," Jack laughed and poked Elsa's nose with his finger.
Elsa sighed, "I can see why you're so troubled by this ... because you're going to be left alone when I one day die? I mean, I was heartbroken when you disappeared and I thought that you were gone."
Jack smiled faintly, "Yeah... just don't worry about it."
Elsa responded to his smile by pulling him to a loving and gentle kiss. It hurt her heart to know that one day he would be the one left alone.
