(17) No Thanks!
Thursday, April 7th
As I walk to the cafe, I come to a realization. "If I walk in those doors, they will ask me what's wrong." And if that happens, then I would have to lie.
With the scratches across my face, there wouldn't really be a satisfactory lie I could tell. Besides, I would hate to lie to Michin. She is my family. I love her.
So eventually I decide to not go home yet. I need to think of some sort of excuse. I wipe of a stray trickle of blood, and adjust my course.
The woodland path buzzes with noise, as always. The grass crunches beneath my feet, and leaves occasionally smack my face.
The tree comes into view, and I sigh with relief. Quickly I scramble up to my branch, and plug in my earbuds. I leave one out, in case someone turns on my walkie talkie.
Speaking of, I ought to tell someone I am here. I press the button, and start to speak.
"Come in Michin, this is Daisy."
"Your in, what's the problem?"
"I'm gonna be home a little late, I'm at my special place."
"Affirmative, just be back before dinner."
The walkie talkies click off, and I insert my other earbud. With both in I can hear the music clearly. The song flows in my ears, drowning out any other sound around me.
Like the sound of grass crunching.
I hum along to the music, fidgeting my fingers. My fingers are eager for guitar strings to strum. I tap my foot to the beat, and enjoy the sound.
I probably sat there for a good half hour before I decided to head home. It was already 4:00, and I thought about helping with dinner.
I hop down from the branch, snagging a fresh cherry on the way. I pop it in my mouth, and unplug my ear buds.
The forest noises refill my ears.
But is it all forest noise?
Crunch.
Crunch.
Crunch.
Crunch
Crunch
Crunch.
Quickly I break into a sprint, but to no avail. Something wraps around my ankle, and I go tumbling to the ground.
I try to scream, but a hand slither around my head and grabs my mouth. I bite into the skin, but the hand doesn't move at all.
I am being dragged somewhere, and my captor quickly shoves a cloth on my face.
Knowing what is coming, I try to hold my breath. But human beings can only struggle and hold their breath for so long.
Eventually I have to breath, and the sharp scent of chloroform fills my nostrils.
Despite my situation, I can only think one thought.
I had the worst day today.
Welp. That's it for this chapter. Don't worry, a longer one will be out soon. Just give me... 3-4 hours? It might not be until after lunch. But I just woke up, checked my story planner, and moved the timeline up a little. I have ideas... So many ideas...
*evil laughter*
