Loneliness, can kill a man. Have you ever heard the phrase about being in a crowded room, yet feeling so alone? It's true. You don't know true loneliness until you can stand in a room full of people who love you, yet feel completely empty and alone inside. For those of you who have felt that, and have pushed through it and now feel loved, congratulations, you've made it. For those who are still stuck in that room, keep going. I know you've heard this before, but it really does get better.
Demi's POV
I woke up with Mac snuggled into my side and Nick on my mind. It'd been a week since our fight, and he's been calling and texting me almost non-stop ever since. I'd only responded that I needed time, and the desperate voicemails are becoming less and less frequent.
I sighed heavily and Mac opened her eyes, "Mama?" I smiled, "Good morning princess." She sat up and poked my stomach, "I'm hungry." I shut my eyes and laid back on the pillow, "Hi hungry, I'm tired." I felt Mac flop down on my chest, but kept a blank face. "Mamaaa." "Who's that? My name is tired." Her hands squished my cheeks together. I opened my eyes to see Mac looking down at me with a frustrated expression and burst out laughing, "Okay Okay Hungry, let's go." I stood up and she jumped on my back, giggling as I walked down the stairs.
As I watched Mac eat her cereal, and idea came to me. "Hey babygirl?" She looked up, milk dribbling down her chin. "What do you think about Bora Bora?"

I locked my phone and smiled, the picture was Mac staring out the window of the plane, her tiny hands pressed excitedly against the glass as we took off. "Mama we're flying!" I chuckled, her awe at such a routine thing for me was always astounding and adorable. "Yeah baby, we're flying!" Normally, I wouldn't tweet where I was going, but I wanted to let Nick know so he wouldn't get too worried. "Mama?" I looked up just in time to see Mac finish a huge yawn, "C'mere baby." She happily let me pull her onto my lap and snuggled up in the wide first class seat as we drifted off to sleep.

"Mama where are we?!" I smiled as Mac ran around our beach hut. "We're in Bora Bora sweetie, the beach." She flopped on the bed and smiled, "Are we moving here?" Chuckling, I laid next to her, "No, just a vacation babe. A few days." She rolled over so she was laying on my chest, "Why dind't Dada come with us?" I tried to swallow the lump in my throat, "He made a big mistake, one that I'm still trying to forgive him for." Mac cocked her head, "But you love him?" Slowly, I nodded, wondering where she was gong with this. "Shouldn't you always forgive the ones you love?" Fucking logical kid. "Yeah, but sometimes you need time apart to think about forgiving them before you actually do it." Mac nodded, "When's time up?" With a laugh I ruffled her hair, "How about this, I'll call him when I get back. But for now it's our time."
~*~
"Come on baby, I'm hot let's go in the water!" Mac shook her head, "No." Frowning, I squatted down to her level, "Why not?" She shrugged, "I don't know." I felt her forehead with my hand, "You're hot babe, you need to cool down let's just go in real quick," Mac set down her water bottle with a huff, "I can't." My face showed confusion, "Why not?" Mac shrugged and mumbled something, "What?" She sighed, "I don't know how to swim." I broke out into a smile, "Well why didn't you just say that? I can teach you!" Mac squealed, "Really?" I nodded, and got up, taking her hand, "Pool first, then ocean."
~*~
"Come on, kick your feet! That's it baby!" I encouraged as Mac swam to me in the shallow end of the pool. She was a natural, and picked up on it quickly. "This is so much fun!" She giggled, clinging to me as I held her up in the water. "Yeah I know! Wanna try the ocean? It's different from the pool, but I'll hold onto you the entire time okay?" Mac nodded excitedly, "Let's go!"
Mac splashed at me in the water, giggling as I pushed water back at her. We'd been in the ocean for over an hour now, the water was extremely calm, so I allowed her to stand in the water while I kneeled next to her. "Alright babe, let's go get something to eat, and you need more sunblock." MAc shook her head, "Noo!" I frowned, "Mackenzie, we need to get out now. You need to put more sunscreen on." She started to sin away, but I grabbed her ankle and lifted her into the air, beginning to walk out of the ocean.
After many kicks, yells, and yes- bites later, I finally got back to the beach house and put Mac on the bed. "Now we're not going back at all today. Ten minute time out, go stand in the corner." She cocked an eyebrow and shook her head, "Fifteen." Mac's mouth dropped open, "Mama that's-" "Twenty. And don't make me go any higher." She shot off the bed with a glare and walked over to the corner to sulk. I laid back on the bed and sighed, feeling the weariness of being out in the sun all day finally crashing on me. As my body drifted off, I felt the bed move and Mac cuddled into my side, laying her head on my chest. Too tired to enforce her punishment, I wrapped my arms around her and fell into a deep sleep.
~*~
I awoke to Mac poking my face repeatedly, as I opened one eye she smiled widely, "Hi" I groaned, "Hungry?" She nodded and poked my cheek again, "And tired." With a moan I sat up, rubbing the sleep out of my tired eyes. "Okay, what do you wanna eat?" She smiled, "McDonalds!" I rolled my eyes, "They don't have that here. Mac was in shock, "Then why did you bring me here?!" I let out a laugh, and picked her up, "It was a HUGE sacrifice believe me, but I'm sure we can find a place on this island that has chicken fingers."
~*~
Mac bounced up and down on her heels as we got closer and closer to the front of the buffet line. I smiled and kissed her forehead, "Are you my little jumping bean?" Mac giggled, "No, I'm hungry mama!" Just as we reached the start of the food, the guy in front of us accident;y dropped the piping hot serving spoon. Right. On. Mac's. Foot. She let out a squeal and I immediately picked her up, "Oh that's just great. Thanks alot asshole." I ran off onto the beach and quickly placed Mac in the ocean so the cool water could soothe her foot. I heard footsteps behind me and turned, it was the guy who dropped the spoon. "What the fuck do you want?" He came into the light and held up his hands, "I come in peace. I wanted to apologize and figured you could use some help." Then I noticed the first aid kit and towel in his hands. As he came closer I saw his face clearly for the first time and had to physically stop myself from gasping. The guy was hot, like, supermodel greek god hot. "Uhm.. thanks." He flashed a bright white smile and spoke with the accent that many of the locals here had. "I don't think it's too bad, just the shock, but maybe I could get a better look? I'm a lifeguard here so I kind of know my stuff." I smiled and brought Mac back to the sand and sat her down to examine her foot. "Yeah it shouldn't take anymore than burn medication." He wrapped her foot in a bandage and then helped us both up, "Just wear flip flops so it doesn't get irritated and you should be fine. I'm Zeke by the way." I smiled, "I'm Demi, thanks for you help." He shrugged, "Hey don't thank me too much, I'm the one who did it." We continued talking for a while as Mac fell asleep in my lap. Finally, it got too dark and we decided to go home. "I'll be seeing you tomorrow, right Demi?" I nodded, already excited to talk to him again. "I look forward to it then. Have a nice night." As I walked back to the beach hut with my sleeping daughter I felt almost giddy, like a middle-schooler with a crush. And for some reason, my thoughts didn't drift back to Nick during that entire time. Maybe if it had I would've noticed the camera flashes.
