Prologue #2
*7 years earlier*
"Will, honey, can you come here for a minute?"
Will quickly got up and headed for the living-room. His small ten year old feet pounding on the shag carpet. In a matter of seconds, Will was standing in front of his parents, wearing a big goofy grin. Will's long curly locks framed his young face, and his blue eyes stood out. Hiis chubby, round cheeks completed the picture. Will was a spitting image of his mom and dad. "Yeah?" Will asked, showing off his white teeth as he talked.
"Well since you're getting older, your mother and I want to........ inform you about something." Will looked expectantly at his parents, waiting patiently for an explanation.
Several awkward seconds later, Will was handed an orange, stained napkin, his name carefully scribbled in the corner with green crayon. In the center was a very messy but detailed drawing, it was of a boy, with a rather dark style for clothing. He had black tousled hair, dark brown eyes, and wore a thin skull t-shirt along with black skinny jeans, which were ripped at the knee's. A black sword hung from the belt that wrapped around his waist.
The picture brought back memories, dreams, and fear. Will stumbled backward as a flashback took over his vision, still clutching the napkin.
*flashback*
The dark haired boy dashed through the woods, tearing anything that was in his way. Tears streamed down his sickly pale face, and blood seeped through his shirt, right under his armpit. Will didn't know how or why, he still didn't, but for whoever knows why Will felt the mysterious boys pain, sorrow, and misery. He felt terrified of the creature that was chasing him, and of himself. He was running for his life, trying to escape his demons, both real and imaginary. Will could relate. He had secrets, fears, and emotions too, he just hides them in a different way; with a smile and joyfulness.
Will remembered that night. He woke up gasping for air, his throat dry, and t
errified out of his 7 year old mind.
*flashback over*
Will came back to reality, a worried mother, and an anxious dad standing over him. "Will, is everything ok?" His mother asked gently, as if Will was as fragile as glass.
"Ye-yeah" Will managed to get out.
After that night, the boy had always lingered in Will's mind. One day Will had absent mindedly doodled the strange boy on a piece of napkin at a restaurant, thus creating his first drawing that lie in his hand.
All of this rushed through Will's mind in less than a second before Will's mother interrupted. "Are you sure sweetie, do you need to go to the hospital?"
"No, I'm fine, really mommy."
But Will wasn't fine, Will was experiencing a million emotions at once. He just received his first drawing for Christ's sake. That was like handing someone pure silver. Will was holding the tattoo that would one day appear on his soulmate.
An hour later the drawing was carefully placed on his blank bedroom wall, where it would hang for years to come....
