chapter 1
I will add music to every update so you can listen to it while you read.
The silence compared to the comforting noise of the roaring engine was uncomfortable to say in the least, I stepped out of my fathers slick, black Mercedes, insuring to put no fingerprints on the door, knowing that it would result in punishment later if I did.
I looked up at the rotting brown building in front of us, not expecting that I would call this piece of junk home for several years. I dove out of the street as the moving van came roling up, the driver may have also shouted a few curse words my way in terms of standing on the street. My legs were at the point of collapsing by the time we reached the old house. I looked down at the long, uneven multi colored gravel path that lead to my new home. Groaning internally, I continued to slouch the rest if the way.
Inside was just as boring as the outside. Plain cream colored walls, dull carpet, and plain colored tile to top it all off.
We never were able to view the house before my dad sealed the deal, so the real estate lady strutted swiftly up ahead, telling information about the house and showing us the rooms. Every once in a while, Kiley I think her name was, would look down at her phone, or whisper things into her earpiece. Her idea of a tour consisted of a lot of hand motions that showed off her soulmate tattoo, and yammering about the houses history and architecture.
Unlike me, Hazel was practically bouncing off the walls with excitement, eager to see her new room, explore the woods over yonder, and meet the neighbors. I, for one, do not like socializing, was not happy at all with this new arrangement, and do not want to go to another school, where people judge me by my looks and appearance. Not that I care, that people say stuff behind my back, that just means they respect me enough to not say it in my face.
Once the retailer left, me and Haze started to move the boxes in. One of the things we often do by ourselves, because our "dad" works day and night, which is why I resent him. Anyways, moving the boxes took up the whole afternoon, box after box. The hardest part was when we had to walk up the stairs with furniture, like dressers, bed frames, mattresses, and our own personal belongings.
The sun was slowly sinking in the sky, as time passed. Haze helped me organize all of the junk and crap we had. You know the living room furniture went in the living room, the kitchen stuff goes in the kitchen, blah blah blah.
The old stairs went squeak under my feet, as I trudged up them, feeling as tired as ever.
The fluffiness of my mattress was looking incredibly comfortable, and it shifted under me from the impact of my weight when I climbed into bed.
My music was on full blast as it filled my ears, from the iPod that was in my back pocket. Over time, maybe minutes, or even hours, the ceiling started to fade away into darkness. I know where I am, I'm in a dream.....
