Violet, Cressida and Thomas all stand side by side at the end of the ballroom in Nott Manor with their mouths open and their eyebrows furrowed. Cressida stands in between the two soon to be fiancés in sweatpants and a hoodie. She's never left her room in sweatpants and a hoodie, but she's in so much shock that she doesn't even care what she's wearing.

Thomas is in a black hoodie with shorts, the hoodie over his head as he stares at the ballroom in front of them with tired eyes. He had just received the news this morning with Cressida while Violet had found out yesterday.

She is the only one fully dressed in brown trousers and a green jumper with her hair neatly straightened. Of course, she knew about this all but seeing it all be planned out in front of her still makes her feel shocked right now.

"No." Violet steps back and storms away. "This is not happening! You can not choose who I love! You can not do this to me father!"

Cressida and Thomas step away from the ballroom doors and stand behind Violet who is hopped up on pills so that they don't see she's in pain. She refuses to tell either of them how she had a miscarriage because things might slip out to admit that their father was the baby's father.

"I have to agree with Violet." Thomas chimes in now that they've grabbed Theo's attention. "You guys are out of your mind if you think this engagement party is going to happen. Or even yet a bloody wedding."

Violet nods in agreement, scratching her head impatiently because of all this stress.

"I mean I'm barely graduating, I haven't even experienced life!" Violets eyes dart between Theo and her father, pleading for them not to do this to her. "Please! Don't do this to me, to us! I trusted you! I trusted both of you!"

Theo's eyes turn watery, his heart breaking at how Violet is begging them. Begging them not to ruin her life. Her hands are shaking because of how much pills she took just so she can convince everyone that she's okay. And on top of that she wakes up to people setting up a party for her arranged engagement. It's not fair.

"Carl maybe we –"

"No." Carl raises his hand up to stop Theo and clenches his jaw. "The wedding is happening. The decisions been made."

"Then you don't have a daughter anymore." Violet gasps in disgust, causing everyone in the room to shoot their eyes in her direction. "I never want to see you again. I will marry Thomas, but if I do then you will never step a foot in my life. For all I care, you're dead to me."

"Vi you don't mean that." Cressida whispers behind her, rubbing her hand on Violets arm. "You're just upset."

"I do mean that." Violet replies before turning back to her father with an angry look on her face. "I want you to leave, this is my family now. Go."

Carl puts his hands in the pockets of his trousers, nodding slowly at what his daughter has just told him. It's hard to be kicked out to the curb by your family, Violet understands that and now so does he. Now he's starting to feel the guilt of allowing his wife to do it to her.

"I'll be here when you change your mind." Carl says quietly before taking one last look at his daughter and leaving through the back exit of the ballroom.

Violet clenches her jaw angrily and wipes the tear that's dropping down one cheek. She doesn't want to be seen as weak anymore. Everyone constantly stepping over her and thinking that sweet Violet will forgive them for everything.

If this marriage is going to happen, best believe Violet is going to be the one in charge.

"I have some errands to run." Violet swallows the lump in her throat as she throws on a pair of sunglasses to cover her watery eyes. "I'm a call away if it's important."

She steps forward and apparates, finally growing the courage to do it now that she has her license for it. One thing Draco was good at getting her. But speaking of Draco, that's where she's going right now. To check out Malfoy Manor, see if he left a clue here to why he left.

As her feet touch the stone ground beneath her, she's quick to raise her eyebrows at the estate. This is her first time coming to Malfoy Manor, it's a lot bigger then she pictured it. There are two large gates before you can actually reach the doors to the home. He clearly appreciated security.

Violet tucks her messed up hair behind her ears and starts walking forward, the gates opening at her presence. That's the spell, if there are no owners, the gates open up to the potential one.

"Strange, I've been standing here twenty minutes and those darn gates won't open."

The voice behind Violet causes her to scream and turn quickly. Sitting on a stone bench is a man in burnt orange cloak and a wand on his lap. Violet holds her hand to her chest and lets out a sigh of relief, noticing the cloak means he's an estate seller.

"You scared the crap out of me!" she continues holding her hand to her heart as she walks forward. "Are you here to speak to the owners?"

The man gets up, shaking his head. "No, I was coming to check out the estate to sell information to people looking for a place as big as this one." he raises his eyebrows along with his hands. "It's quite a charm, this home. Are you looking to buy?"

"Oh me?" Violet scoffs quietly. "No, I was coming to look for the owner. Draco Malfoy. He just, left so soon I thought he'd still be here at least packing or something."

"Well, the gates opened up for you." he speaks as he walks forward towards her. "Either your friend gave this place to you or the place wants you to be it's new owner. Strange how homes this old can have their own magic eh?"

Violet turns in confusion to look up at the house. "How much is it?" she asks, knowing the idea itself is absolutely crazy. "I'm getting married and I suppose weds need a place to live that's better than a flat right?"

"Oh, uhm congratulations!" the guy chuckles, almost more excited for Violet than she is. "I suppose you can get this place for one million galleons."

Violet almost chokes on her saliva, an audible gasp escaping her lips. She's wondering if she heard that right. If the value for this home is eight times more than she has in her Gringotts account. How is she supposed to come up with that kind of money so that this place doesn't go to a complete stranger?

"That's a reasonable amount because it was originally sold to the family for five times that amount."

"Wow! That's a lot of money." Violet puts her hands on her hips as she looks around. "I'll take it. Let me consult with my fia- let me talk with someone and I'll get back to you with the money."

The man smiles cheerfully and grabs a card from his cloak, handing it to Violet. "That is my name and my department at the Ministry, I don't carry those cellphones so a personal visit is due." he steps back and waves. "I'll expect a visit soon."

Violet waves as the man disapparates in front of her, leaving her standing in between two closed gates with a full mind. Now she has to talk to Thomas about buying this place, she's sure he has enough money to split it or whatever.

"One million." she speaks to herself as she continues walking.

The last gate opens for her again, finally she reaches the two large doors that are a dark wood. She slowly picks up her hand and pushes the heavy doors open. They creak creepily as they open and Violet starts to walk inside, peering around.

"Hello?" her voice echoes the empty foyer where a large set of stairs lead to the first floor. "Draco? It's Violet, I want to talk!" she walks up to the stairs, stepping on the first step and holding the railing. "Hello!"

There's no response to her shouts and it scares her. She's alone in an empty house like this one and she doesn't know what to expect. But even now, she doesn't want to leave, she wants to see what's inside or what's left for that matter.

She continues walking up the stairs and her breath quickens because what happened yesterday is making her tire easily. Her hand grips the railing as she reaches the top of the stairs and catches her breath. Her hair falls down both sides as she drops her head and paces herself.

She wipes her sleeve over her sweaty forehead and continues walking towards an arch shaped door. The door has a large handle like the one on Theo's office door. Meaning, this must be or was Draco's home office.

Violet grabs the handle and twists it to check if it's unlocked but it's not. So, she grabs her wand from her boot and unlocks it, making it open and reveal a fully furnished office. Probably the only furnished room in this entire place.

In the middle of the room is a black desk, it's empty besides the notepad and pens laying on top of it. There's three leather chairs, two on her side and one on the main side of the desk, in front of a window that's letting in a lot of sunlight. On both sides of the window, there are book shelves with tons and tons of old books.

Violet walks more into the office and almost trips before she slams her hands against the wooden floor next to the desk. Her hands stop her impact, making her face stay an inch away from the ground but her eyebrows furrow. The impact sounded hollow. She almost fell and the only thing that concerns her is that her impact against the wood sounded hollow.

She gets on her knees and quickly starts knocking against the floor around her. Some parts are filled but the small part where her hands landed is hollow and it moves every time, she knocks against it.

Without hesitating, she digs her nails around the corner of the wood and starts lifting it up with as much force as she has. The small wooden square lifts up and she tosses it aside, her eyes widening at what's inside.

"Draco Malfoy, you sneaky son of a –" she groans and reaches into the underground box.

Violet picks up a velvet black box and spins in it her pale hand just at eye level so she can examine it closely. She pops it open and her jaw practically drops when she sees it. A diamond ring is sitting on a red cushion with Violet's initials carved into the inside of he band.

She drops the box to the side and picks up the papers that are inside. Once they're on her lap, she reads the words that are in bold writing and another shock goes through her body.

Divorce papers, with his name signed into all of them but only one name missing. It's not hard to guess whose. Astoria's.

The sound of footsteps echoing through the house that's supposed to be empty causes her to toss everything back inside and cover it with the wooden square again. She gets up and dusts herself off before hiding behind the door, holding her breath.

"I always did envy the Malfoys home." Pansy's voice is recognizable to Violet. "It would be great to have Astoria's life for once."

"It's a bit out of our budget don't you think?" Adrian's voice. "Our home is great, obviously doesn't have as much land around it as this one but it's just as big. Why do we need the Malfoy's life?"

Violet hears the clicks of heels come closer and she freezes, scared of getting caught. Why the hell is Pansy in here? And most importantly why the hell does she want this place?

"You don't understand Adrian. Astoria has been one step ahead of me since we were in school." Pansy is now standing at the top of the stairs. "I need to be better than her for once, have the home she had to leave because of problems. I can have two places and you can get a better job!"

"I-I like my job." Adrian sounds sad, almost insulted. "And I like our home, this place seems too dull. I never really liked this place anyways."

"Pathetic, just pathetic." Pansy steps towards the office and hums quietly. "Weird, this door seems to be opened."

Violet holds the door handle with as much force as she can so it doesn't move with how close it is to her stomach. Her hand is trembling against the metal, getting caught here shouldn't be this scary but for some reason it is and it's the last thing she wants to happen.

"Look at this place." Pansy enters the office and taps the door, causing Violet to jolt softly. "You can work here while I take care of my writing and we'll live the life I always wanted."

"You've been writing this so-called book for a while now." Adrian replies as he enters the office and takes a seat on Draco's chair. He looks up at Pansy who's still standing at the doorway but he sees Violet behind the door.

Violet widens her eyes and shakes her head, hoping he doesn't sell her out. Thankfully, Adrian looks away and get's up from the chair, walking towards Pansy.

"How about we talk about this at home." he starts closing the door but his muffled voice is still heard by Violet. "This is probably a good idea."

As soon as the door shuts, Violet slides down the wall and sighs in relief. She wipes her head that has been sweating like crazy and grabs her phone from her back pocket. Her hand shakes as she dials Thomas' number, she needs him to answer because after what she found under the floor, this house has to be hers.

"Violet?"

"Thomas! Hi, I uhm –" she stops herself and looks around the office. "– can you meet me and Malfoy Manor? It's kind of important."
