𝟐: 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐭

Violet stayed on the floor for the remaining twenty minutes until her next class. Her breathing, shuttered and heavy. Continuously looking down at her legs and rubbing them with embarrassment, wondering if her Professor found her being in tights too prude. Her uniform skirt literally touches her knees and yet her Hufflepuff robe still covers her entire body.

The loud, echoing clang of the giant bell above the castle startles Violet and she pushes herself off the wall with fright. She laughs at her action and closes the book she was reading to pass time. In seconds the corridors are filled with students chatter and loud foot stomps.

"You look like such a loser." A raspy, English accented voice grabs Violet's attention and she feels a hand pick her face up from her chin.

It makes Violet wonder if it's custom at Hogwarts to touch strangers faces these ways.

When Violet lifts her eyes, she sees a tall, pale girl with black hair – looks dyed because her roots are lighter – and what looks like self-cut bangs. The girls cold, silver eyes are staring right into Violets and she's clenching her jaw. Her hand feels cold against Violet's skin, almost as if she fell face first into a pile of snow.

"Odd." The girl whispers to herself and let's go of Violets face before pulling her up with so much force it's hard to believe possible. They start to walk, Violet's arm entangled in the other girls.

"Strangely I like you, but you obviously could use some fashion advice. But now worries my closet could spare some clothes. I'm Cressida, you can call me Cress. Most of my friends do. Who are you? Why do you look so clueless about who I am? And what's your blood-status? Go!"

Violet turns to look at Cressida and with confusion starts to speak. "My names Violet Blishen-"

A gasp is heard from Cressida and she halts to a stop, cutting Violet's sentence so she can speak instead. "Are you like French? That accent is like insanely hot and it's kind of turning me on. I'm bi by the way but don't be afraid I'm not here to turn you."

"Yes, I'm from France. I went to Beauxbatons and I have no idea who you are because today is my first day here." Violet answers and she feels her arm get tugged into the next corridor once again by the strangely strong girl. "Uhm I have to get to class?"

Cressida turns with a laugh to look at Violet and continues walking with her in arm. "Your schedule is poorly written on the sticky note attached to the cover of your book and I see that we both of Potions second period." Cressida manages to get Violet to smile widely and she smiles back at her too. "I'm really observant, sorry. My uncle often tells me I'm annoyingly observant every time I go over to his home."

"He sounds like an asshole." Violet snickers and nudges her shoulder against Cressida's.

"Oh yeah!" Cressida shouts with a huff and rolls her eyes. "If you have Occlumency or that Apparatition rubbish class, you'll know him. He's the Professor."

Violet feels her whole body shut down and she starts to freeze up that the only reason she's moving forward is because Cressida's still pulling her. Why has it just come to her mind that he has a family, nothing could happen even if she wanted it to.

"So, he's like your dad or moms' brother?" Violet questions, trying to pry out more information on her breath-taking Professor.

"No, it's just he's really close friends with my mom and dad." She answers and then starts laughing before talking again. "He actually dated my mom back when they were in school but obviously it didn't work out. My mom is such a fucking slut, she's not even with my dad anymore."

Violet can't say anything to comfort Cressida because she's instantly cut off by chatter coming from the Potions classroom. They both walk in and the Professor turns around and groans when he sees Cressida.

"I thought last year was the last year I had you in this class?" He scolds and shakes his finger at her as he walks around his desk towards the group of students standing in front of it.

"Well, you got lucky Horace, looks like you're stuck with me for another year." She congratulates and walks over to his desk and opens a drawer where she pulls out a box of chocolate frogs. "This is Violet, she's new."

"Get into your places and quit eating my frogs." He mutters and turns back to face all the other students who are holding an open book in their hands. "Alright everyone! Gather around here, let us get started."

*********

Potions is coming to a finish; the entire class period was spent talking about expectations and Slughorns not so interesting stories. He laughs about the most boring things ever, but Cressida was laughing because she wants the extra credit.

Violet noticed how everyone fears Cressida, almost as if she's Voldemort's evil spawn or something. She thinks it has something to do with how intimidating Cressida is, she's upfront. So, she believes she's also lucky to have made her friendship instead of being afraid of her like everyone else.

"Vi we're leaving to lunch now." Cressida's raspy voice brings Violet out of her daydream and she starts grabbing her things as Cressida does the same. "I could kill for a salad right now with like a good strawberry smoothie."

"Are you on a diet or something?" Violet asks with a small laugh following her question but Cressida laughed even louder at her question.

"Yes, Vi." She laughs in response as they exit the classroom. "I guess I've been on a diet my whole life. I'm vegetarian."

They both burst into idiotic laughter and Cressida's smile fades when she see's Thomas who's smiling in their direction.

"Well, if it isn't Miss. France!" He shouts and points towards Violet as he holds his bottom lip between his teeth. He turns to Cressida and rolls his eyes. "Cressida."

"I'm so sorry you met my twin brother." Cressida growls and pushes Thomas out of her way but he throws his shoulder over both her and Violet.

Violet's eyebrows raise high with shock that they're twins, they have some similar facial structures but she would never have guessed them twins. However, they are both so attractive.

"I completely changed my look so I don't look like this idiot anymore but sadly people already know who we are." Cressida sighs and rests her body on Violets in a mopping way. "Torment. Kill me already!"

"Cress we totally got Draco mad this morning. I'm sure he's having memories being back her because he's been a dick all morning." Thomas laughs, holding his stomach to control how hard he's laughing at something Violet nor Cressida found funny. "It reminded me of the day we broke the window at Malfoy Manor when we were ten."

"Thomas, I don't know if you noticed or not but Violet and I aren't listening to you. Get lost with the rest of the group."

"I'm kind of listening." Violet interrupts and presses her lips into a thin line. "But it's because I can't really tune you out."

A weird noise comes out from Cressida's mouth and she squishes Thomas' nose, making fun of him. The twin's relationship is one of the best sibling relationship anyone could hope for but at the same time, they live for tearing each other apart.

All three of them continue walking to the great hall for lunch, chatting away to get to know each other better. It turns out, Thomas and Cressida have a step-dad who's a professional Quidditch player and is super famous. Violets been dying to learn Quidditch, that's one of the things she never got to learn. She has the tendency to need to know everything but not in a snobby way.

Loud chatter can be heard from the corner of the corridor as they are approaching the doors of the great hall. Again, no music; oh, how she's missing Beauxbatons. As they walk through the doors, Cressida's eyes scan the room and are full of judgement and she's laughing to herself.

"That girl looks hideous." Cressida finally says something and without embarrassment she publicly points at the girl and laughs. "That mustache over her lips is horrible."

Thomas puts his hand on Cressida's arm and pushes it down. "Please Cressida, you looked like that until mom introduced you to wax and makeup."

"Past tense Tommy!" Cressida scowls and stomps her foot before walking away, leaving Violet behind and Thomas.

"You seriously chose the wrong girl to be friends with." Thomas turns to Violet and shakes his head, letting his brunette hair fall on his forehead. "She'll judge you behind your back and leave you when you call her out on her shit. She's my sister and she's done it to me multiple times so imagine what she does to her so-called friends."

"Cressida seems like she just wants to be normal instead of labeled as your sister." Violet walks a bit forward and then turns back around and walks back up to Thomas' face. "You know, if I had a sister, I would keep her secrets and not talk bad about her to her friends."

"Violet!" He throws his hands in the air and stands there, watching her walk away.

Violet continues to walk until she spots Cressida at the end of a table where all the Slytherins are sitting. Cressida is crying into her hands and her mascara is running down her pale cheeks and yet she still manages to look pretty.

She doesn't know if she's allowed to sit with Slytherins but Violet does so anyway, she's liking Cressida and she can't leave her crying alone. She takes a seat beside Cressida and wipes away the smeared mascara with her thumbs while her hands cup Cressida's face.

"Are you okay?" Violet whispers and wipes her hands on her robes.

Cressida shakes her head and lets tears drop onto her lap. "I just try b-being honest with people when I think they look terrible. It's the nice thing to do you k-know? The ones that let them keep looking that way should be the ones c-crying right now after being yelled at. Not me." She stutters since she can't speak clearly with her breath shuttered.

"I know that." Violet comforts and rubs Cressida's back. "But maybe you don't always have to point it out. Or try being nicer about it."

"Oh Merlin." Two boys take a seat across from Violet and Cressida. A handsome light-skin and a baby face dirty blonde. This is the dirty blonde speaking. "What's Cressida crying about now?"

Cressida looks up and pouts at both of the boys and throws herself forward onto the light-skin. "Jean, I can't deal with Thomas. He's such an asshole!"

"Yes." Thomas scoffs as he sits down beside the dirty blonde and scoops food onto the plate in front of him. "I'm always the asshole. I guess you and father have that in common, blaming the other."

"Shut up Thomas." Jean scowls and hugs Cressida over the table. "You need to know when to stop talking sometimes."

Violet awkwardly places food on her plate as she waits to be introduced to the other two boys. The dirty blonde looks familiar, his face has familiar features.

He extends his hand out to Violet and she wipes her hand on the cloth napkin before shaking it firmly. She's surprised that kids still shake hands seeing as she's constantly rejected when she extends hers out to someone. "I'm Scorpius Malfoy it's nice to meet you. You are?"

Violet pauses for a minute after hearing his last name. He has a kid? His kid is here at this school and is her age. Scorpius cocks his head at Violet and she gasps, noticing how long she blanked out for. "I'm Violet Blishen. Cressida's new...friend."

"Well Violet, this is Jean Zabini and I believe you already met the other twin Thomas." He points at both of the boys at his sides and the puts his arm on Jeans shoulder. "Jean is gay so don't get freaked out if he compliments you or stares at you."

"O-okay." Violet laughs awkwardly and just looks back at Scorpius. "So, your dad is a Professor here? How is that?"

Scorpius angrily bites his cheek and takes a second before replying to Violet. "My...father, he's an Auror but since he has his license for Apparatition he got selected to teach it here –" He takes a sip of his pumpkin juice and slams the cup back down. "– he can't let me live me life. Not even at school."

"Sorry." Violet shyly scrunches her nose and looks back down at her plate full of salad and fruit. She finds it important to maintain a healthy diet, Beauxbatons uniform really accentuated the girls figures and she's self-conscious.

"Nothing to apologize for." Scorpius replies as he wipes his mouth with the cloth napkin and tosses it back next to his plate. "He's the selfish dick, not you."

"Oh god could they be any cockier!" Cressida whispers loudly and they all turn in the direction she's looking. Three gingers, two brunette boys, and an auburn-haired girl are walking into the great hall with guys and girls eyeing them and whispering excitedly.

"They're idiots." Jean huffs and furrows his brows at the group who are looking in the Slytherin groups direction. They look like they're practically walking in slow Mo.

"Who are they?" Violet asks as she curiously watches them walk through the empty aisle people have cleared for them.

"The Weasleys and Potters." Cressida announces and scolds one of the girls as she makes eye contact with her. "The school popular. The red head girl, her names Lilly Potter she's the school slut and the youngest one in that group. Rumor has it she slept with Professor Burbage for extra credit last year."

Violet watches Lilly as she walks with one foot in front of the other and her uniform shirt hugging her breasts tightly. She smiles flirtatiously at the boys and flips her ginger hair over her shoulder in a sassy manor.

"The other girl." Cressida continues and points at the taller girl next to Lilly. "That's Rose Weasley, she's an insufferable know it all. But don't be fooled by her books and innocent school girl look, she blows almost every guy. I guess she's like the mom of the group too, her hair could use some help though. It's a disaster."

Violet and Jean both let out small chuckles and watch as Rose hangs onto Lilly and uses her other arm to hug her books against her chest.

"Now the short, curly haired brunette, that's Albus Potter –" Cressida laughs as she says his name "– The idiot was named after that old hag of a Headmaster Dumbledore. There's not much on him but Jean says he's a closet gay because no one can dress that good and not be."

"I stand by my words." Jean adds and purses his lips at Cressida.

"The tall brunette behind Albus, that's his hot older brother James." Cressida and Jean practically swoon over him as they watch him. "James is Gryffindors seeker and is dating this god-awful muggleborn called Jazzy or something. I don't know her name is too common to remember. Now see, James and Rose are the oldest of the group."

"Sparkly eighteen." Thomas adds as he bites down on his apple and wipes the sides of his mouth with the back of his hand.

"Roses little brother is the scrawny, curly haired ginger all the way in the back." Jean is now introducing them. "He's really quiet. Most people call him mute Weasley because they hardly ever hear him speak. There's not much to say about him. But oh lord, the tall ginger, husky man behind all of them. That is Fred Weasley the second."

"The second?" Violet questions with an eyebrow raise as she watches Fred take a seat and throw his arm around a girl sitting beside him.

"The story of his parents is like all sorts of fucked up." Cressida joins back in and starts gossiping about it. "So, like apparently his dad, George Weasley, had a twin called Fred and this Fred guy was dating this chick called Angelina Johnson. But then when the Hogwarts war happened, Fred died and George married this Angelina chick and had a baby with her and named him Fred Weasley the second."

"That sounds twisted." Violet adds on with a sick look on her face. "He basically stole his dead twins girlfriend."

"Yeah, it's sad." Cressida sighs and rests her chin onto the palm of her hand. "I'd come back to life and kill Thomas if he ever did that to me."

"But that's the Potters and Weasleys to you." Jean continues. "They really didn't even earn their fame if you ask me. It sucks I spend most weekends at their house since my mom is all of their parents friend."

"What do you mean they didn't earn their fame?" Violet questions and starts to eat her food as she listens to the entertainment.

"He's saying their lying thieves. Like that one Lockhart guy." Cressida scoffs and slams her fork onto her plate, causing people to look in their direction. "If it wasn't for Draco and Scorpius grandmother, may she rest in peace. Harry Potter would have never defeated Voldemort who may I add was hot as hell in his teen days. I found an old picture –"

"Cressida." Thomas scolds her about getting off track and she shakes her head.

"Anyway, that's not the point –" she waves her hand in the air and continues. "– when Harry Potter went to Voldemort to turn himself in, Voldemort used the killing curse on him. But it didn't work, see Voldemort sent Narcissa aka Scorpius' grandmother to go check if Harry was really dead and when she saw he wasn't she told the Voldemort he was and she basically saved his life! But no, you never hear the history books talking about her, do you?"

"It's always the heroes who get labeled as villains and the villains who get labeled as heroes." Thomas sighs and then shrugs his shoulders. "Or in this case the villains get labeled as the boy who lived twice and get a fucken holiday in their name. Saint Potters day. Saint my ass."

"This sounds like a reality TV show." Violet laughs and just continues eating before her food gets anymore cold.

Sadly, she's interrupted by the screeching of the dozens of owls flying through the ceiling windows. They fly over each table and drop what they have in their claws onto the laps of the student. Violets beautiful white owl drops a newspaper onto her plate and she scoffs as she picks it up with disgust and shakes the food off of it.

Violet takes off the rubber band and unrolls the Daily Prophet. A smile plasters across her face when she see's her dad smiling brightly in the front page alongside the Minister of Magic. Cressida pulls the paper out of Violets hand and gasps at the picture.

"Who is this handsome fellow. I have never seen him before." She chuckles and taps her finger over Violets dad. She runs her fingers through the introduction paragraph and another gasp escapes her lips. "Violet...this is your dad? He looks like he's twenty!"

"Wait till you see my mom." Violet laughs awkwardly, but she doesn't get a laugh out of anyone else since they don't understand the joke. Thomas and Scorpius stare at her blankly while Jean and Cressida look at the picture of Mr. Blishen and Violet begins to explain. "Well, my mom had me when she was fifteen so some people often mistake us for sisters."

"She hot?" Scorpius asks with a serious face on and then smirks.

"I-I don't know." Violet responds with a shoulder shrug. "She's my mom, I don't really pay uh- much attention to her...hotness."

"Look at her dad." Cressida puts the Daily Prophet in front of Scorpius and Thomas and they both raise their eyebrows when they see the picture.

"Your dads the second Minister of Magic?" Thomas gasps quietly and snatches the paper away from Scorpius and starts reading the column.

"Yeah, he is but it's like not that big of a deal." Violet shrugs it off and brings her mom up instead. "My mom wrote that column, she's an important columnist for the Daily Prophet. She fancies my dad to the next level I bet she wrote amazing things about him."

Thomas nods in agreement as he's reading what Mrs. Blishen wrote. He smiles at one point and then sets the paper down and reads it aloud. "Carl Blishen, now second Minister of Magic is said to be England's most handsome Minister yet." He laughs and hands the paper back to Violet. "Your mom really had to add that in."

"They're in love." Violet laughs and smiles back down at the picture of her dad. "I kind of hope to have something like that one day. Un amore per i secoli."

"Woah!" They all say in unison when they hear Violet speak Italian.

"You can speak Italian?" Cressida squeals and inches closer to Violet. "Say Cressida is pretty; I want to hear how my future rich Italian girlfriend is going to sound."

Violet laughs and tries to contain it as she says what Cressida said. "Cressida è carina."

"Oh, I just had a full-on orgasm." Cressida throws her head back and groans into the air. "That is like the hottest thing ever. I'm so glad we're friends now."

Violet blushes at the attention and just folds the Daily Prophet back up and puts it in the pocket of her robe. She like having friends like this, they're interesting and they find her interesting in a good way too. They even make her forget about her hot Professor for a bit.
