"No Genevieve!" Violet shouts and pulls her blanket back over her body as Genevieve tries to take it off again. She curls under it and continues shouting with a stuffed nose from all her crying. "Leave me alone! I don't want to go to class! It's none of your business so why are you even bothering me?!"

They have both been at this for almost half an hour because Violet turned off the alarm twice already. It's not any of Genevieve's business but Violet doesn't get to sleep in after keeping Gen up all night with her loud crying. Also, she wants to know why Violet is crying this much.

"Just get up! You don't get to sleep all day!" Genevieve snatches the blanket away and tosses it on her own bed as she pulls Violet from her ankles and drops her to the ground. "School is fun! I know I've been a bitch lately but I can spend all day with you if you want?"

Violet shakes her head and stays on her back as Genevieve hovers over her with her hands on her hips in such a motherly manner. Still, Violet doesn't budge so Genevieve gives up and lays on her back with Violet before grabbing her hand tightly. Sometimes it's not about what you say to cheer a person up but what the silence says when you're with them. Right now, their silence is comforting enough for Violet. No words need to be said, just this hand holding silence and staring at the roof. Even if it is with Genevieve, Violet just needs someone so she can stop feeling so alone,

Genevieve may have mistakenly judged Violet when they first met. They both got off on the wrong foot when they could have been friends from the start. Cressida isn't the comforting type; she just makes it all about herself until Violet forgets she has a problem too because she's too busy comforting Cressida. It's always about Cressida.

"We should paint the ceiling." Genevieve suggests, causing her and Violet to cock their heads as they look at the blank ceiling. She laughs softly and cocks her head the other way. "Or we could enchant it. Like the great hall. Have some nice thunderstorms while we sleep."

"Enchantment sounds pretty nice." Violet turns her head to look at Genevieve and laughs at her comment. She looks back up at the ceiling and squeezes Genevieve's hand. "I'm sorry I locked you out of the room that one time. I think you're actually really sweet."

"Thank you." Genevieve smiles back at Violet and lets go of her hand as she stands up and starts to put her robe over her uniform. She sighs and grabs her bag before looking back at Violet. "I should uh- get going. I'll see you later?"

Violet nods back and gets off the floor as Genevieve leaves the room and shuts the door. She starts to look through her wardrobe, pulling out some tights and her normal uniform and laying it on her bed. It's a new day and Violet doesn't want any distractions, so full cover tights it is.

With an exhausted sigh, Violet shuts her wardrobe and starts to undress herself slowly. She grabs her clothes and starts putting it on as she brushes her teeth in the sink they have floating in their room. Genevieve made it because she was tired of walking down every morning and night to brush her teeth and then having to walk back up to put her things away. It's very convenient.

Once she finishes brushing her teeth, Violet grabs her school back with her wand between her teeth and her phone in her other hand. She has her robe hanging on her forearm as she's running down the stairs to walk down to the common room where kids who don't have a first period are studying. There's a couple of greetings towards Violet as she walks towards the door and waves at them because the wand in her mouth isn't allowing her to speak.

She walks out into the corridor and starts running faster when she's sees others running to not be late on their first day back from vacation. She stops when she reaches the great hall doors and slides through the open gap before the doors slam behind her. Her eyes scan the room and they stop on the two people she's trying to avoid. Together. Thomas and Draco. They're talking in the corner, whispering actually and Violet is wondering what it's about.

"Violet!" A recognizable voice calls her in a hushed whisper and she turns to see Theo leaning against the wall near the desk Draco always sits on. He looks around and points his finger to the ground next to him. "Come here!"

She looks around frantically before running towards him and standing in front of him with her eyes on his. "What are you doing here? Are you okay?" Violet asks and rubs her hand on his arm before he pulls away shyly and nods. She notices his reaction but says nothing of it because she's too tired to strike up conversations about emotions.

"Career day is tomorrow." He sighs and licks his lips as he looks around the room. "It's this stupid event for students that McGonagall thought was a great idea. But anyways, what's with the tights? Have you sworn to be a saint or something?"

Violet laughs at his question and she rolls her eyes with a smile. "You're funny." She replies sarcastically and tugs at the tie he's wearing with his white button up. "What's with the white and the tie? Have you sworn to be boring and hideous or something?"

Theo scoffs and starts to take off his tie and unbuttoning the top buttons of his shirt. He puts the tie around Violet and ruffles up his slicked back hair so he can look more like his normal self. Or even possibly because he is hurt and embarrassed that Violet called him hideous.

"Better?"

"Much better." Violet replies as she takes his blazer off and holds it in her arm. "A blazer is for people who dress like old people. Don't tell Draco I said that though." She fixes his collar with her bottom lip between her teeth and nods. "Now you look perfect."

"Miss. Blishen take a seat this is a classroom not social hour." Draco's voice speaks behind Violet and she rolls her eyes and whispers goodbye to Theo as she hands him back his tie and blazer. She takes a seat on her usual mat and watches as Theo and Draco walk in the middle of everyone. "Alright everyone, this is Theodore Nott, a close friend of mine. He's here to be my assistant on teaching you to apparate an object. That way you'll be more comfortable to speak with him at career day tomorrow."

There are whispers around the room from the girls as they practically drool over Theo. Honestly the whispers make Violet a little jealous because they're all going to be flirting with him and she doesn't know if he'll do something. However, he's not paying attention to anyone but Violet. It's his eyes are super glued into her and no matter what happens he can't move them.

"So, everyone pick up the mugs placed in front of you and clear your mind as you try to make it disappear from your hand and appear wherever you want it to." Draco continues speaking, pushing up his glasses every time they slide down. "If you need help raise your hand."

Immediately, girls hands shoot up into the air and Theo and Draco both chuckle as they go to the closest ones. Violet holds the mug in her hand and tries to clear her mind but she can't do that when she feels Thomas' eyes on her from across the classroom. She ignored all his phone calls after leaving him in the tower last night. She doesn't know what to say or do around him because she doesn't feel the same way and she knows it hurts him.

"Need help young lady?" Theo chuckles as he takes a seat across from Violet and wraps his hand around hers which are holding the mug. They both get flushed immediately and he continues. "Just relax your body and mind. Think of this as meditation. Once you're fully relaxed, think of a place you want this mug to go to and do it."

Violet sighs loudly and lets her body relax as her and Theo both hold onto the mug. She closes her eyes and imagines the side table beside her bed and she feels her hands clasp with Theo's. Her eyes open and she sees that the mug isn't there anymore.

"I did it!" She gasps and quickly lets go of Theo's hands before he picks hers back up to give her a quick high-five. Her cheeks get flushed and she shyly looks away as she whispers to him. "Thank you, Theo."

Theo stands up and smiles cheekily at Violet as he walks away to go help other girls who are throwing their hands up for him. Violet grabs her phone from her pocket and opens her messages with Thomas before starting to type an apology. Of course, he's across the room but she knows he won't listen if she tries to approach him. So, for now texting is all she can think of.

'Listen Thomas, I'm really sorry about last night. Please talk to me.'

Once Violet sends the message she looks up and raises her eyebrows as she waits for Thomas to check his phone. Thomas looks over at his phone and then across the room at Violet who's smiling nicely back at him. However, his stare has changed since last night. He's not staring at her with the same smile and kind eyes as always; he's staring at her with his eyebrows scrunched and his jaw clenched along with angry eyes.

Violet tilts her head at him with an apologetic face but Thomas turns away and continues talking to the girl next to him. Just that head turn away from her makes her heart break that she can't even apologize to him. He can't stay mad at her forever, it's unfair. She can't be blamed for not reciprocating the feelings he has for her. He sprung it on her but now she's the villain of the story.

"Miss. Blishen!" Draco says once again after having called her many times. Violet looks away from Thomas and up at Draco and sees him hovering over her with his arms crossed. "The phone, hand it over. We're in class."

"I'm not giving you, my phone." Violet retorts and puts her phone in the pocket of her robe. She scoffs and looks around with her hand in the air. "Everyone else has their phones out. Don't single me out for personal problems, Professor."

Draco steps forward, making his lower body get directly in Violet's face. "I'll see you in my office after class." He grumbles and turns around but continues talking as he walks away from her. "Clearly, you need to be taught some manners on how to speak to your superiors."

Theo scolds Draco from across the room as Violet has her jaw on the ground, watching Draco walk away from her. Violet doesn't understand why he's mad at her. If anything, she should be the one teaching him some manners on how not to break someone's heart. He broke it off with her and now he's acting like this is all her fault.

"Everyone! Put your phones away!" Draco shouts at into the air as he scolds Violet and clasps his hands behind his back. "Don't waste my time if you're not going to learn something! Get working! Now!"

*************

Violets the last in the class to leave as usual because she likes to take time to put her things away neatly. That's one thing that hasn't changed since Beauxbatons. She puts her bag over her shoulder as she leaves the great hall and heads towards Draco's office like he instructed her to do earlier. As usual with Draco, she doesn't know what to expect. Violet doesn't feel like she deserved to be yelled at for having her phone out. She had completed her assignment but again when it comes to Violet, Draco loves bothering her.

As Violet slowly creeps up to the open door, she knocks twice before sliding in through the crack and revealing herself to Draco. He's sitting at his desk with a mountain of paperwork next to him and a phone pressed up against his ear. He looks up at her and signals her to hush and close the door behind her and she does. She turns back around and walks to his desk before taking a seat across from him with her legs crossed.

Before Violet sat down, he noticed her tights and if he wasn't trying to discipline her or if they weren't on bad terms; he would've laughed about it and told her how cute they make her look. However, they are on bad terms so all he can do is bite onto his bottom lip and look away.

"I understand –" Draco speaks into the phone as he rolls his chair back and tosses a file into the bin beside his desk. "– however, I don't have time to go on a tour. Any spacious one would be nice." There's a brief pause as Draco stares down at his watch and listens. "Alright, thank you, good day."

Violet raises her eyebrow with curiosity as she watches Draco hang up the phone and clasp his hand on the desk. Just to upset him, Violet does the same, revealing both of Theo's rings still on her fingers. His eyes look at them for a second and then back up at her, narrowing them directly at hers.

"You're making a mockery of me." He starts speaking in a hushed tone. "My classroom is not a social time. You're eighteen, grow up and be an –"

"Nineteen." Violet interrupts and sits comfortably back in her chair. "I have grown up and I do act like an adult. I'm not making a mockery of you; I'm simply doing what I'm told and ignoring you. And if that bothers you then I'll be more than glad to leave your class."

Draco says nothing and instead scolds himself because he hadn't known. He didn't know her birthday was yesterday until now. However, he was too busy noticing how close her and Theo have become to remember anything else about her. Now he feels terrible for having appeared in front of her dormitories last night; he feels guilty.

Draco hides his face in the palm of his hands and sighs loudly into them before looking back up at Violet. He then says. "Just go and don't let me catch you on your phone again."

Violet scoffs and picks her bag back up with an attitude caused by him wasting her time. She gives him once last scold and turns around, letting her hair flip behind her as she angrily storms out of the office and slams the doors behind her. She can't begin to understand why he's so obsessed with her that he can't just ignore her for an entire period. Then he has the audacity to say she's making a mockery of him when she's done nothing but do what she's told.

Potions is going to be a disaster; since Violet left Nott Manor, Cressida hasn't spoken to her. Not even to check up or ask if she can go over. Not even a birthday text. Now she has to go into a class where Cressida is her partner and she doesn't know if Cressida is mad and if she is, will she be madder about Thomas.

On the night before the first day of school, Violet thought Hogwarts was going to be her fresh start. She never imagined it would be a place where she hoped for another fresh start. Meeting Cressida in that hallway may have been the worst and best thing that has ever happened to her. When Violet was at Beauxbatons, life was much easier and much happier. She had no idea about the secrets in her family and she still had a family. Now she's here in Scotland and she has no family, has no friends and is living in a two-bedroom apartment bought for her by her ex-whatever he is. Her life has turned into her worst nightmare.

"Hey." Violet whispers to Cressida as she takes a seat beside her. "Are you upset with me? I mean did I do something? You just haven't spoken to me and I just want to know what's wrong?"

Cressida looks up from the paper she's writing on and gives Violet a side eye before looking back down and speaking to the paper. "You hurt my brother." She sighs. "I wasn't mad before but Thomas came into the common room last night crying because you hurt him." Cressida sits up and turns to her before continuing to scold her. "Is that your thing? Do you just break people's hearts?"

Violet gasps and opens her mouth to speak but Slughorn has began talking and she's left ignored. She sinks into her chair and feels tears pool up in her eyes as she looks down at her own paper. Tears drop onto the parchment paper under her, staining it and making her ink spread but she doesn't care. She's too hurt by everyone to care. Once more, Violet looks up at Cressida and she gets up from her chair and walks out of the classroom.

As she slams the doors shut, she can hear Slughorns muffled voice shouting for her to come back but she keeps walking. Her steps grow larger and her tears run down faster by the second. It seems like everyone in the world hates her and their reasons all have something to do with her love. Or lack thereof.

She continues walking until she reaches the school kitchen which is empty right now. In a hurry to not get caught, she shuffles through the cabinets and grabs every piece of chocolate she can find. She opens the fridge and see's a bottle of wine that is most likely for the ladies that cook. Their breaths always reek of alcohol.

Violet takes the bottle and runs out of the kitchen with everything hugged tightly to her chest. Tears are still running down her cheeks and the wind hitting her face as she runs is making it hard for her to see where she's going. After a while, she stops outside in the courtyard and sits at the edge of a stone wall with the view of the lake. She pops the cork on the wine bottle and takes a long, needed, sip of it before biting down on a chocolate cupcake. As she's chewing, she uses her sleeve to wipe the tears on her face and she wipes top lip from the frosting.

Theo was right when he said that chocolate and alcohol were the best things to cope with. However, Violet can't live off that for the rest of her life. She needs to find a way to make everything right or at least a way to take her mind of everything that's bad in her life. She needs October to finish, maybe it's just the month that's crappy. Maybe November or December will be better. Just maybe.
