Violet's eyes flutter open, the smell of warm cinnamon right under her nose and the heavy weight on her chest. She clears her eye sight and is met with brown curls, resting on her chest. A quiet gasp escapes her lips when she realizes Theo is lying on top of her with his shirt off and his back scratched so deeply. She's trying to remember what happened but the last thing she remembers is Draco leaving and her grabbing a bottle of whiskey.
She picks his hand out from under her and moves it away as she throws herself on the ground, grunting as she hits the thin carpet. Theo doesn't seem to budge, he's completely asleep with his cheek stuck to the leather of the couch. Violet crawls on all fours, trying not to make any noise as she crawls to the other end of the sofa and pulls herself up, groaning at her headache.
Scattered around the living room are empty bottle of whiskey. Bottles! She must have drank with Theo last night. She presses her temples to control her throbbing head as she looks at Theo from the other side of the living room. He looks so peaceful, very... happy.
Violet holds her hand over her mouth in utter shock. She doesn't remember but the evidence is stacked against her, she had sex with Theo last night. She groans quietly and picks her phone up from the floor, unlocking it. There are dozens of missed calls from Draco and it looks like she made a call to Theo last night after Draco left. She bites her bottom lip anxiously and taps her phone against her palm, contemplating what to do. Even if she did have sex with Theo, she doesn't regret it but she regrets that she doesn't remember it. She doesn't remember the things she said or he said, what they did. It makes her anxious.
Her phone starts vibrating against her palm and she looks down, seeing Draco is calling her again. For a second, she looks between her phone and Theo, hoping the universe will give her a sign on what to do but it doesn't. So, she walks towards the living room door and opens it, walking out into the hallway as she holds the phone up to her cold ear.
"Hello?"
"Why haven't you been answering? Are you okay?"
Violet looks around as she leans against the wall opposite of her door. "Yeah, I'm fine." she clears her throat and scratches her eyebrow nervously. "What do you want? There's like a dozen missed calls from you."
"We left on bad terms last night I –"
"You what?" Violet whispers angrily, holding in because her head is throbbing. "You want to see me, apologize with sex and then go back to your wife? Look Draco, honestly I am so tired of your bullshit." She pushes herself off the wall and starts walking towards the elevator, needing some fresh air. "I can't handle your mood swings. One day you want me, the next I'm dead to you."
"You don't understand Violet." he sighs, whispering her name. "I do love you but –"
"But?" Violet questions as she steps out of the elevator on the ground floor and walks out of the building.
Instantly she feels the cold December air hit her warm cheeks and her socks sink into the snow. She probably should have but on her shoes.
"But I don't want to hurt you or Astoria." he finally replies, frustrating Violet even more. "I don't want anyone to feel betrayed."
"It's a little too late for that don't you think?" Violet shivers, hugging her torso. "Maybe you should of that about that before you kissed me and then had sex with me. I mean, I was a virgin when I met you, I had no intention on coming onto you."
"You were a what?"
"That's not the point Draco! The point is you mess everything up and come back whenever you want as if none of us are hurt!"
"Violet! If I choose you, you will lose everyone around you!" Draco shouts back. "Don't you get that I'm trying to protect you! And yes, in doing so I fell in love with my wife! But she was there before you, you can't expect for there have not been any feelings."
"I did expect there to be no feelings because a man who cheats is cheating for one reason only!"
She doesn't let him say anything back, instead she hangs up the phone and holds it tightly against her chest. Her feet still numbly stuck in the snow as she exhales a cloud of cold air, shutting her eyes in pain. It's freezing out and yet she finds it to be such a beautiful morning, perfect to just stand in silence and listen to the distant birds singing.
Violet throws her head back and sighs with her eyes still shut and her arms hugging her small figure so tight she might lose her breath. She feels a familiar hand snake around torso and not opening her eyes, she rests her head to the side, feeling the warmth of his chest.
"I love you." she sighs, not knowing she said the same thing last night. "Things are just so complicated, you understand?"
"We don't have to make this complicated." Theo replies as he rubs her so she can warm up. "This doesn't even need to have a label. I'm not much of a label guy anyway."
He digs his nose into the top of her head, inhaling her addicting smell as he shuts his eyes. Violet lets her hands pull him into an embrace and she sinks into his chest, almost as if the feeling is familiar. She can't help but feel guilt however; mostly because she just made up with Cressida and she just left Draco. It seems in a way like Theo is her way out but it's not true, Draco was right last night. Ever since that day in Draco's office – the day they first met – there was an instant connection between the two and since that day they've done nothing but get closer. She trusts Theo, shockingly more than Draco.
"I have a surprise for you." Violet whispers quietly, still holding onto him. "Let's get ready and I'll take you there."
"It's a place?" Theo chuckles excitedly as Violet leads him back into the building, punching her code so the doors open.
*************
After what felt like such a long shower together, Theo and Violet are dressing themselves on opposite sides of the room. It's like they're both fifteen again and being two inches close will set them off into ripping each other's clothes off.
Violet straps her thigh high tights to her underwear and walks over to her wardrobe, pulling the expensive doors open. Theo watches her from across the room, admiring how the lingerie she has on is hugging her fair skin so nicely. The way her straps are tight around those thighs he's dying to have wrapped around his neck. He watches how she tiptoes to grab a hanger from the hook, her arse moving as she jumps back down into place.
"Quit staring." she chuckles with her back towards him as she slides on a black dress to match her sheer tights. "Come zip me up, will you?"
"Of course, darling."
Theo finishes adjusting his silk black button up and walks over to Violet, breathing in sharply as his hands travel down her bare back. He feels her shiver under his touch the lower he goes, his cold fingers causing goosebumps on her beautiful skin. Violet swallows nervously and licks her bottom lip as Theo holds her waist with one hand and zips her up with the other, slowly so he has more time to admire her. Once the zipper reaches the top, Theo grabs her hair from out of her hand and moves it to the side as he leans forward to place a wet kiss on the back of her neck.
"All done." he whispers and lets her hair fall down her back, perfectly straight. "Now where is it you're talking me?"
"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you now, would it?" Violet smiles as she slips on a pair of black, red bottom stilettos, grabbing her bag off the rack. She holds it in the crook of her elbow and clicks her heels through out the hallway, Theo shutting the door behind her.
Violet holds onto his hand as she leads him out of the flat, his other hand in the pocket of his ironed trousers. They look so elegant, yet both dressed in all black like if they're attending a funeral. Theo is quick to skip in front of her body and open the door for her, holding her lower back as she steps out into the carpeted hall of her building. He uses his wand to lock the door behind them and continues leading her towards the elevator where another muggle woman is waiting with her car keys in hand.
All three of them step in, the woman staring awkwardly at them, probably at the age difference the most. Theo doesn't look that old but he doesn't look as young as Violet either. Violet meanwhile is texting someone on her phone, anxiously biting her lip as she waits for their response and then quickly types again. Unfortunately, Theo can't see who it is because she was smart enough to enchant the screen for her eyes only.
"You nervous?" Violet whispers, not wanting the muggle to hear their conversation. "I mean about us?"
"Honestly?" Theo responds in a hushed whisper too. "Just a bit. I feel like this is surreal for some reason. You know?"
Violet smiles softly and nods as the elevator doors open and they rush out, leaving the muggle behind them. Theo is struggling to keep up with Violet since she's practically running out of the building. But as soon as they exit, she screams with excitement and stops at the edge of the sidewalk.
"Isn't gorgeous!" she squeals, looking at the black Mercedes in front of them with tinted windows. "This isn't the surprise but we do need a car to get there so... I bought one."
Theo furrows his eyebrows, tilting his head at the expensive car. "How exactly did you get this much money?"
"No matter!" she giggles and grabs the key from the guy in the tow truck. "Get in! I'm driving!"
For some reason, Theo can't seem to wrap his head around the fact that Violet is swimming in money. She paid for their bail a couple days ago and now she bought a car. He scoffs with a laugh and gets into the passenger's seat, handing the man that brought the car a muggle bill. Theo smiles as he examines the red interior of the car, running his hands on the expensive leather.
Violet wastes no time in screeching off into the street, going so fast that Theo was tossed back. He holds himself on the dashboard and turns to look at her, excitement written all over her face.
"So? Nice?" she shouts over the car's engine.
"V-very nice!" Theo chuckles and looks out the car window, watching as the other cars nearby are slower than theirs. "You don't think you're going too fast?"
"It's exhilarating! I think I'm not going fast enough!"
Violet turns for a split second to smile at Theo, finally a real smile showing on her bright face. She takes one hand off the wheel and reaches for his, curling her delicate fingers in his strong ones. Their rings collide and he smiles back at her, bringing her hand up to place a kiss on the back of it. He sets their locked hands on his lap and continues watching her as she concentrates on her driving.
It's not a long drive from her house because the next thing he knows, Violet's parking in an empty parking lot behind a building. She puts the car in park, turning off the engine and reaching into her purse. She pulls out a blind fold and hands it to him.
"You need to put it on." she giggles quietly and watches as he takes it from her hand to slide it over his curly hair and onto his eyes. "Come on, I'll guide you."
She gets out of the car and goes around while he waits for her, leaning against the car door with his hand extended out for her to take. She takes it and starts guiding him through the empty parking lot, whispering steps to him so he doesn't trip or bump into anything. His hand is gripped tightly around hers, practically holding on for dear life because falling would be far to humiliating for him.
"We're going down some steps through this door." Violet whispers as she pushes open the black tinted door to a building. "One...two."
Theo chuckles as he stumbles down the two steps with her by his side. There's a strong smell of paint, fresh paint and there is plastic that he's stepping on. It sounds and feels like they're in a warehouse or a place in the making. They both take a few more steps, plastic rusting under their feet.
"Where are we?" Theo questions, aching to take off the blindfold.
"You can take it off." Violet smiles as she looks around the place.
Not wanting to wait longer, he takes off the blindfold and his eyebrows furrow at the sight. They're in a large, familiar local. The walls are being painted a dark red and the entire place is empty besides a spiral staircase in the far-right corner. The place is quite large but there are loads of ladders and paint rollers covered in red. He's been here before.
"Is this?"
"The breakfast place you brought me to?" Violet finishes his question as she shrugs with a large smile on her face. "Yeah, it is. I may have bought it."
