"This year, Hogwarts will play host to a legendary event: the Triwizard Tournament. During which time a single student gets to represent his or her school in a series of magical contests. Eternal glory awaits the student who wins the tournament."

Violet is seated at the Slytherin table along with Draco, Pansy, Theo, Blaise and Adrian. They're all secluded from the rest of the students and Violet is guessing it has something to do with people not liking their group. Dumbledore, their headmaster is giving a speech about the schools that are going to be joining Hogwarts. Beauxbatons, which can stir up trouble for Violet if any of them notice the way she acts and talks is the same as theirs. And Durmstrang which is an all-boys school which will stir up love interests for every girl at Hogwarts. All but Violet of course.

"For now, please join me in welcoming the lovely ladies of the Beauxbatons Academy of Magic." Dumbledore continues, causing the screeching sound of the great hall doors to open. "And their Headmistress, Madam Maxine."

Every head already in the great hall has now turned to the doors, aweing at that beautiful young girls walking in, in an orderly fashion. The girls are dressed in their usual uniform; blue dresses, coats, shoes and their hats which have to places sideways at all times. They walk in with elegance and their heads high with every preppy step they take. Violet was once one of them, it's hard to forget where she came from.

Draco along with Theo, Adrian, and Blaise all have their jaws on the ground as they watch the girls prance around. They're practically drooling and Draco must have forgotten that Violet's here because he has his eyes glued onto the girl leading the group. A brunette with dimples. He clearly has a type.

"Did you happen to forget I'm right next to you?" Violet scoffs and pulls at Draco's ear, causing him to wince and widens his eyes when he realizes she next to him. "You boys are pigs!"

Violet and Pansy both huff with anger at the boys constant eyeing of the Beauxbatons girls and they turn back to Dumbledore, who is trying to quiet everyone's cheers down. He stands at the top of the steps after greeting Madam Maine who was Violet's Headmistress too, so it's nice to see a familiar face.

"Now our friends from the North." Dumbledore shouts of the dying down cheers and whistles of the thirsty teenage boys. "Please greet the proud sons of Durmstrang and the High Master, Igor Karkaroff."

The boys of Durmstrang come in with the pounding of sticks against the York stone pavement, emitting flakes of fire every time they stomp. The flakes and pounding are followed by chants from the boys and organized walking. Violet gasps with excitement and gets up from the bench to get a closer look as she leans closer with her hands on the table. With a confused and jealous expression, Draco turns to look at her and then back at the bald boys in fur coats. It hurts when it happens to him but he didn't know when he was looking at the girls.

"No way." Violet gasps and turns her head to look at Draco for the shortest second. "That's Victor Krum! He's like a Quidditch legend!"

Draco grabs onto Violet's arm and yanks her back down before hugging her waist tightly against his body. He's jealous and it's so noticeable that it makes Violet kind of happy. Now she knows it only had to take a trip to the past to make him pay close attention to her and her actions. However, she is really excited to see all these people, especially Victor Krum.

"Krum over here!" Theo shouts with confidence, causing Krum to walk over and sit in between him and Violet. "I'm Theo, I play Quidditch here with these three." He points at Draco, Blaise, and Adrian, causing them all to shyly wave hi and go back to eating.

"I'm Victor Krum." He introduces himself to Violet by extending his hand before she takes it and shakes it excitedly. "Have you seen any of my games?"

Before Violet can even answer, Draco interrupts her with cold words and an angry tone. "She's not a fan." He growls and takes Violet's hand. "Besides didn't your team lose to the Irish the other day? I wouldn't go around showing off just yet, Krum."

Krum says nothing but instead bows his head and turns away from Draco and Violet to continue talking to Theo. Violet scoffs at Draco and just takes her hand out of his so she can pick up her fork and angrily stab at her food. Young Draco is very petty and jealous, it doesn't suit him. He's also very angry all the time for no reason, she thought this was his happiest year.

Everyone's attention shifts back to the stage where now Dumbledore and the Minister of Magic are. However, Violet's attention is on Cedric Diggory who's she's spotted across the room at the Hufflepuff table. He looks so happy; it makes her feel sick. She whishes she can get up and tell him not to join the Tri-Wizard tournament or if he does to not do the last task. Even knowing it all, she can't and she won't because she doesn't know what it will ruin.

One of Cedric's friends whispers something in his ear that causes Cedric to turn and catch Violet staring at him with these sad puppy eyes. Quickly, Violet looks away and puts her hand over her eyes to hide her face with embarrassment. This is just great; Cedric is now going to think Violet likes him or something. This year sucks, how can this be Draco's favorite year of his life?

"I've lost my appetite." Violet groans with disgust as she stands up from the bench and adjusts her Slytherin robe. The robe which makes her uncomfortable to be in because it's not the house she belongs in. She bends over to Draco's ear and whispers. "I'll see you in the Slytherin common room. Don't worry, I know my way there."

Draco lets her go and she starts walking towards the doors while Dumbledore is still talking in the background. Her shoes clack against the tiles and it's followed by running footsteps behind her as she leaves the great hall and enters the corridor. Violet turns around and sees Cedric running after her with flushed cheeks and furrowed brows.

"Do I know you?" He asks with an awkward laugh as he runs his hand through his hair. "Or do you happen to know me? I just feel like we may know each other?"

Violet shakes her head with a sigh and looks back up into his eyes. "No." She clicks her tongue. "No, we don't know each other. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare earlier. I'm new too is all." She starts to walk away but decides to turn back around just as he's walking back into the hall. "Do you want to go for a walk with me?"

There's a moment when you know a secret where this wave of guilt rushes through your body. In that moment, the only thing you think of doing is filling the guilt by doing something for the person you know something about. This is what Violet is doing, she's filling her guilt.

Cedric turns around and nods back at her. "I'd like that." He smiles and jogs towards her to catch up as they both start walking. "What's your name?"

"I'm Violet." She smiles and shakes his hand as they both turn the corridor to exit the school and walk into the courtyard. "Hogwarts is enormous, isn't it? I never imagined for it to be so intact."

They both turn to face the school and start to climb on a giant rock, holding themselves as they try to reach the top. When they reach the top, they're both dying of laughter and sighing as they take a seat and look at the brightly lit up school.

The school looks very different than it does in the future. It almost looks perfect but it's raining and it all feels so dark and scary. Violet holds her wand up and a shield covers them from the rain. Far too late because they're already soaked but it covers the water now.

"I love the rain." Violet sighs and turns to face Cedric who's also holding up his wand to cover the water from falling on them. "It feels great just to sit in silence and listen to the rain."

Cedric turns to Violet and grabs her face, putting his wand down and letting the water soak them as he kisses her. She doesn't know what to do so she leaves her hands down and lets him kiss her not moving lips. What is she supposed to do? Kiss him back and lead him on? Then she can't just push him away because she doesn't want to hurt him.

"Violet!" Draco's shouting causes Violet to open her eyes and move away from Cedric in an awkward motion. She basically just kissed a dead guy. Violet turns slowly to Draco and he's using his wand as well to cover the water from soaking his perfectly ironed robe. "Let's go, dinner is over."

"Bye Cedric." Violet whispers and she drops down on her feet, getting caught by Draco's arms. He hugs her back and his hand squeezes her arm with so much force she can feel it go cold. "Draco, he kissed me. I swear I didn't mean it."

"Shut up Violet." Draco shouts and stops before they even enter the castle doors. "Just shut up! I brought you here to show you my happiest year and I find you kissing Cedric fucking Diggory! I brought you here because –"

Violet steps back and gasps when she realizes that he's lying. "Because you choose Astoria." She ends his sentence and feels tears start to pool up in her eyes. "You brought me to your happiest year because that's how you wanted me to remember you before you left me! You wanted me to fall in love with the young version of you so I would hate who you are in the future!"

There's silence for a long period of time. The silence eats them up as they stare at each other, finally letting the rain soak them because none of them are strong enough to use magic. Or even care enough about getting wet because they're arguing. Violet is breaking down into a full panic attack while tears roll down her cheeks and her breath is shaking.

"Violet I'm so sorry!"

"No! You're not sorry. You will always choose her over me, won't you?" Violet hyperventilates into her hands and she takes her robe off as she starts moving closer to him. "Since the day we met, it's always been Astoria! You started this yet you won't admit that you love me more! If you really loved her more than me, you wouldn't have another option! But you do and it's me! I'm tired of being everyone's last choice, I deserve better!"

Draco inches closer and tries to calm her down by grabbing her arms. "Violet please let me explain!" He holds her in his arms as she sobs loudly but she angrily pushes him off her and steps back again.

"No! You, you're evil. You don't deserve better!" She points down at his arm and scolds him. "That tattoo on your arm, the one you have in the future! It only made you dark, the evil was already inside of you before you got it!"

Violet looks down at her hands and she removes the ring he gave her before tossing it in his face. He grabs it and starts crying when he realizes what he's done. Violet looks up at him with swollen lips and red eyes that are covered by her long lashes and the droplets of rain that are on them.

"I want to leave." Violet sniffles and wipes her tears with anger, trying her hardest to look tough but the tears just keep falling. Her voice quivers when she speaks her next words. "Take me home now!"

Draco nods, wiping the tears from his face and he grabs Violet's shoulders. He closes his eyes and they get sucked into the same white light they did when they first arrived. They both land in the middle of her living room, in the same position they were in before. Violet moves her legs off of Draco and she starts crying even more when she sees the normal, older Draco that she fell in love with.

They're both dry and in their old clothes, sitting on her couch. However, they're both still crying and not looking at each other. It almost feels like if their hearts have been ripped out and crushed.

Violet moves her eyes from the floor and moves them to Draco's eyes. "You made me fall in love with you and then you just leave me!" She cries and stands up before walking over to the door and opening it for him to leave. "I hated you! I hated you and you made me love you! I'll pay you back for the flat but for now I want you to leave and never come back here."

Draco stands up without saying another word and he places his spare key on the coffee table, before walking over to her. When he reaches her, he stops and gives her one last look before walking out and having her slam the door behind him. They both stay staring at the door, waiting for the other to open it while they cry with their hands on the knobs.

For seconds, they both stay with their hands wrapped around the door knob but neither of them turn it or move. Draco however, can hear Violet quietly sobbing on the other side of the door; it makes his heart tear every time she gasps for air in between cries. Violet cries even louder when she hears the woosh of him apparating outside. Him leaving makes everything more official. He's leaving her.

There's a woosh behind her and she turns around, thinking it can be Draco but instead Theo is standing there. He has chocolates and liquor in his hand and he raises them as he shrugs his shoulders at her. "I seem to like chocolate and liquor when I'm feeling alone and sad." He gasps when Violet runs into his arms and starts sobbing into his chest. "Violet. It's going to be okay."

"He chose Astoria." Violet sobs and hugs him tighter as he hugs her back with the chocolates and liquor still in his hands. "Does that mean I'm not good enough?"

"No, that's not what it means. Look at me!" Theo empties his hand and grabs Violets face, wiping her tears with his thumbs. He inches closer to her and clenches his jaw. "You are more than good enough. I know so many people who want you and they'd choose you a thousand times over."

Violet nods and wipes her face in a hurry. "I could use some chocolate's and liquor." She sighs and takes a seat on the couch as Theo sits next to her. "Then maybe you can tell me more about all these people who want me."

Why are so many of us always wondering what the meaning of love is? Is it out of fear of uncertainty in a relationship? Or is it because we ourselves have been accused of not showing love for someone? And why is it that, even when we don't fully understand what exactly love is, we tend to make decisions – good and bad – based on love?

Astoria gave Draco twenty-four hours to make decision. He's terrified because he's spent all day in the past with Violet and only has one hour left. Literally, they've both been in the past all day, having fun and forgetting the future's problems.

However, there's a problem. Draco has already made a decision but it doesn't feel like the right one to make. With an hour left on the timer, he takes a deep breath and looks at the woman standing in front of him. "I choose you." He closes his eyes and repeats again with a more assured voice. "I choose you."

Astoria looks up at Draco from her phone as she turns the stove off, making sure her coffee doesn't burn. "I knew you'd come around. You're home and this house hasn't had you here in a while." She smiles and pulls him into a kiss in which he doesn't kiss her back but instead pushes her away.

"I choose you because I don't want the rumors that were told to be lighted as true and have your reputation ruined." He snarls and wipes his lips from her saliva. "I chose you because I have a child with you and a divorce would ruin his life. I don't love you; I love my kid and I love my job. And I love Violet and I don't choose her because if I did, she'd get hate for something she didn't start. I let my love for things decide what my decision is. However, the love. I have none for you."

Draco turns around and starts heading out of kitchen but he stops and turns around. "I will stay away from her but I want you to stay away from me too." He taps the border of the door and walks out. "Goodnight."
