"Wow, that was a quick marriage. I think the quickest divorce we ever had was after a week."

"No, two days," said the admin in the booth next to theirs."

"There was the weekend, though," the other assistant said.

"Oh, yeah, so it's a tie," the administrator said with a smile Vincent wished to knock off his face with a punch.

Divorce.

The couple wasn't married before God, but their union was valid by those of the law.

As in any other country, the mandatory administration papers for a wedding had to be filled in before. For Sierra and Vincent, it was 24H before the wedding.

No citizen could have a wedding ceremony in a church without this.

Thus Sierra was Mrs. Sierra Ajani Lennox-Patel for the whole weekend till Monday.

It was Vincent who gave her a call Sunday night, "I want to get over and done with as quickly as possible."

The man got the message.

"Do you love me?" Vincent asked.

Sierra's answer was, "no, not how you deserve."

The man didn't push to know if she loved Jonas instead. He didn't need to; for the moment Sierra answered, all became clear for both of them.

Sierra's crocodile tears stopped. It was like the end of a midsummer night dream where the spell wore off, and reality made them yield to rationality and grow up in one go.

"I'll speak to the guests and my parents," the man said.

"No, let's do this together. It's my fault too."

For once, they united as they improvised an explanation, but Vincent took a lot upon him.

During that time, Jonas left, with hysterical May on his shoulder. Yes, he carried off the woman who wanted to share a piece of her mind with a thousand and one bleep words. The woman was fired up. She wished to shake Sierra while screaming, "girl, wake up. Prince Charming cut himself out of a book for you. We're all here waiting for ours. You got yours, now take him."

Jonas didn't want to live the vaudeville drama. He had lost enough of his lifeline for the day.

Vincent even offered the guests left to eat altogether to avoid wasting the food, but none had the heart to do so. The couple decided to give everything to Le Secours Populaire, a charity that provided food and shelter to the homeless.

Now they stood in the city's Town Hall filing for their divorce.

"Where do I sign?" Vincent asked.

"Here."

The man seemed to have lost half of his weight. His tan looked ashy, and the man had a triple layer of dark circles around his eyes that made them look like a bullseye on a target.

All this was her fault, Sierra thought.

"Mr. Patel, you can sign."

Vincent looked down at the paper, he loved Sierra, but the finality was he suffered more, knowing her love for him was now affection.

For Vincent, it was impossible to live with the nuance, and so he let go.

"Mr.Patel?"

The man signed, and the administrator passed the document to Sierra autographed the page with her signature.

"It will be one thousand and seven hundred euros for each of the parties."

The announcement of the payment finished off Vincent. Not only did he let the woman he loved go, but he had to pay for it.

If Sierra didn't fear the interpretation and the man's reaction, she would have offered to cover all of the divorce expenses.

"How long will this take?" Vincent asked.

"It's the wedding season; summer makes hearts flutter. The divorce demands will begin to stack up I'm autumn. Yours should take between a fortnight and two months max," the administrator said as if he told them about the summer clothes sales and other discounts.

"Sorry, Sierra, you'll have to bear my name a little longer," the man said without turning to face her.

"Vincent."

The woman didn't know what to say; shutting up seemed the best solution.

"That's all for me, have a good day," the administration official said before pressing the button to call the following number to his booth.

For him, they were just a formality.

Sierra and Vincent went down the Town Hall's steps and stopped to face each other once they reached the bottom.

"Well, I guess that's it," the man stared at Sierra longingly as he tried to memorize her face. He didn't hate her; he detested himself.

Sierra didn't know whether it was the moment or not, but she knew there would never be a go one. She took the box out of her bag, "I'm sorry, Vincent."

The man grabbed the box and it and opened it. Vincent looked at the engagement. At least this one got worn, the man thought.

"Vincent, Iㅡ," Sierra didn't even get to speak as the man robbed the moment.

"I know we should talk, Sierra, but I can't. Right now, I'm just gushing out with blood, so please let's just leave it there for now. See you around."

The man turned and walked away, leaving her on the steps.

Sierra returned home; her mind hadn't touched the ground since they called everything off.

Jade and Dima waited patiently for her return. They abandoned their hotel rooms to support her at home.

"How did it go?"

"Better than I expected, Sierra said as she slumped back down on the sofa. Leone hurried to came next to her. He hugged her tightly. His mom hurt a lot; he had to comfort her like she did when he cried.

"What are you going to do now?" Dima asked.

"I don't know. Wait, I guess."

Jade left Sierra's desk and came to sit on the one place sofa, "listen, Sierra, I already started to arrange and advance you. There are groups on Facebook or Vinted where you can sell the dress. You might want to keep your Bailey heels. It's up to you."

"Jade," Dima yelled and wondered how she could be so insensitive.

"What? We can't let her lose her money and have her looking at the vestiges of her ruined marriage for the rest of her life."

Dima shook her head, "Sierra, I'm so sorry. I wish I could do something."

"Thank you, Dima, you've done enough. When are you leaving?"

"I have a flight at 3 pm. I have to be on the set tomorrow; otherwise, James McHubert will throw a tantrum. Apparently, he's pissed off like hell to have a replacement. It's unbelievable; the man hates my guts when I'm around."

"Wow, I can't believe you get to touch that man's face," Jade said.

"Trust me. It isn't all wonderful. James isn't easy to work with, he isn't mean, but he has all these rituals. The man doesn't speak. It's like doing makeup on a brick wall."

"It's a sexy brick wall. Girl, I needed a defibrillator when I saw his buttocks in Lucid," Jade added while she placed a hand on her heart.

"How did your last audition go?" Sierra asked. Speaking about something other than her situation gave her a few minute break from the noise in her head.

Dima sighed, I'm waiting for an answer."

The makeup artist who left Paris in the hope of becoming an actress didn't want to plunder the already sinking situation with her issues. For the moment, she worked on the set of Dr.No, where the sexy lead played diva.

"Enough about me, Sierra. Will you be okay?"

Sierra was about to reply when the doorbell rang. All looked in the door's direction and wondered what other event was about to occur. Jade went to open and stepped back to let the person inside.
