"Excuse me!" Shouted Sidharth and stood up immediately while the woman moved back.

"Aap ne soch bhi kaise liya ki main aap ke iss ghinone offer ko accept karunga? For your kind information, I have a wife at home whom I love the most. Uske alawa kisi aur ki taraf dekhna bhi mere liye paap hai. Aur agar main single bhi hota na toh bhi aap ke inn ghatiya terms and conditions se kabhi agree nahi karta. Haan mujhe job ki zaroorat hai par main chahta hoon woh mujhe apni kabiliyat ki wajah se mile, inn sab ki wajah se nahi. Isliye aap ki yeh job, aap ko hi mubarak ho." Spoke Sidharth angrily hurting the woman's ego and making her go crazy.

"Get out! I said get out!" Shouted the woman angrily.

Sidharth looked at her with disgust and left her cabin. The candidates waiting outside the cabin, heard it and looked at Sidharth who came out of the cabin.

Before leaving, he turned to the candidates and said, "Aur aap sab bhi idhar wait mat ki jiye. Kyu ki iss company mein yeh nahi dekha jaayega ki aap kitne deserving ho. Balki yeh dekha jaayega ki aap Ma'am ki personal needs ko fulfill kar sakte ho yaa nahi. Agar aap woh nahi kar sake phir aap ko toh job milne se rahi."

The woman came out of her cabin hearing that and felt insulted in front of everyone. Sidharth just gave her an angry look and left from there.

Sidharth's mind was very disturbed after everything that happened during the interview. He was about to leave with his car when he heard two guys talking.

"Aur bhai promotion hogaya. Party toh de raha hai na?" Asked one guy.

"Party baad mein. Pehle wife ko le kar Thailand trip pe jaaunga. Bohut dino se keh rahi hai." Said another guy.

"Sahi hai. Hum mard iss hi wajah se toh mehnat karte hai, taa ki apni family aur especially apni wife ko ek acchi zindagi de sake, unki saari expectations puri kar sake."

"Aur nahi toh kya? Waise bhi love marriage ho yaa arrange marriage, har patni apne pati se yeh expect zaroor karti hai ki woh usse acche se rakhega. Uske comfort ka khayal rakhega, uski chhoti badi har demands puri karega. Haan kuch auratein muh pe keh deti hai aur kuch apne andar hi daba ke rakhti hai, bol nahi paati. But at the end, expect toh sab hi karti hai. Aur yeh hum husbands ki responsibility hai ki hum unke expectations pe khada utar sake. Then only we will become a good husband."

Hearing their words, reality hit Sidharth hard. He remembered the day when he first met Shehnaaz. Obviously like other girls she too had some expectations from her future husband. She chose to marry him thinking that he would keep her happy, give her a secure life. He would be able to fulfill all her demands. But now because of him, she was only struggling. He couldn't keep her happy, couldn't give her a secure future. He felt that he failed as a husband. Sidharth's eyes became teary thinking all this.

Suddenly, his phone started ringing breaking his thoughts. He took the phone and saw Shehnaaz's name on the screen.

He sighed sadly and hanged up.

In the evening...

Shehnaaz returned home and went to her room saying, "Sidharth tum mera phone kyu nahi utha rahe, maine kitni baar call....."

She suddenly stopped seeing Sidharth packing her clothes in a suitcase.

"What are you doing? Why are you packing my clothes?" Asked Shehnaaz being confused.

"Because you are leaving." Replied Sidharth painfully without looking at her.

"Matlab?"

"Matlab tum jaa rahi ho, iss ghar se, meri life se. Tum apne ghar chali jaao bas."

Shehnaaz was totally puzzled hearing Sidharth's words. She went towards him angrily and pulled him by his hand.

"What the hell are you saying? Have you lost it?" She said gritting her teeth. "Yeh mera ghar hai Sidharth, aur meri family hai yaaha. Main kyu sab kuch chhor ke jaaungi?"

"Because you don't deserve this Shehnaaz!" Screamed Sidharth freeing his hand. "You don't deserve a husband like me. You deserve much better."

Sidharth started crying making Shehnaaz's heart ache. Sidharth fell on the floor while Shehnaaz sat beside him to console him.

"Tumne shaadi se pehle kitne sapne dekhe honge. Tumhara ek accha ghar hoga, tumhara husband ek accha job karta hoga, ek acchi khasi salary hogi uski jis se woh tumhe duniya ki saari khushi dega, tum aram se apni zindagi jeeogi. Lekin tumhe aisa husband mila, jiske paas ek job tak nahi hai. Kuch nahi kar paaya main tumhare liye. Ulta tumhare paiso ke bharose pura ghar chal raha hai. Pehle school jaao, phir coaching center, phir ghar wapas aa ke students ke homeworks check karna, students ke liye notes taiyar karna, yeh sab karte karte kitna thak jaati ho tum. Upar se mere job ki bhi tension le rahi ho woh alag. Yeh zindagi toh nahi dena chahta tha main tumhe. Isliye main keh raha hoon, chali jaao tum meri life se. Main ab haar chuka hoon. Kuch nahi hoga mujhse. Aur tum kabhi khush nahi reh paaogi mere saath."

Tears rolled down Shehnaaz's eyes feeling Sidharth's pain. In this situation, anyone would think like that. But he needed to know what he meant for her.

"Idhar dekho meri taraf." Said Shehnaaz cupping Sidharth's face lovingly, making him look at herself. "Kisne kaha tum mujhe khush nahi rakh sakte? Khush rehne ke liye mujhe sirf tumhara saath chahiye. Baki tum jaise rakhoge main waise reh lungi. Aur haan, maine bohut sapne dekhe the shaadi se pehle. Mera sapna tha ki mera husband ek bohut hi accha insaan ho, woh mujhse pyaar kare, meri respect kare. Mujhe ek queen ki tarah treat kare. Mere bole bina hi mere dil ki baat samajh jaaye. Mere alawa kisi aur ki taraf na dekhe. Tum bilkool waise hi ho Sidharth. I know aaj interview mein tumhare saath kya hua tha."

"Tumhe kaise paata?" Asked Sidharth immediately.

"Humare moholle ka ek ladka gaya tha interview dene. Usne tumhe dekha and he told me everything. Paata hai bohut log job paane ke liye aise offers ko accept kar lete hai. Lekin tumne woh nahi kiya. "Milna bhi nahi chahiye. I can't share you." Said Sidharth making a pout to which Shehnaaz giggled.

"Phir jaane ke liye kyu keh rahe the? Pagal!" She said pinching his nose. "You know what, you are the best husband, Sidharth. I know yeh time hi aisa chal raha hai ki tumhara khud pe ab bharosa nahi raha. Lekin mujhe tum pe pura bharosa hai. Dekhna yeh time bohut zald chala jaayega. Aur jab tak nahi jaata, Mr. and Mrs. Shukla saath mein isko face karenge. Waada karo, tum kabhi apni himmat nahi haaroge."

"Main koshish karunga. Lekin agar main phir se kabhi himmat haar gaya, tum mujhe aise hi sambhal logi na?"

"Pakka sambhal lungi. Koi shak?"

Then they both chuckled together with teary eyes and joined foreheads closing their eyes. Shehnaaz knew that it was a very difficult situation for Sidharth but she promised herself that she would never let him break again and take away all his pain with her love and care.

Saying that, Shehnaaz forcefully made him wear the shirt to which he made a face while she looked at him with full of love.

Shehnaaz herself combed Sidharth's hair and made him wear a tie. He was denying at first but she didn't listen to him as she wanted him to look perfect.

Later, Shehnaaz took Sidharth to her coaching center. She talked with them and they agreed to appoint Sidharth as a science tutor.

After knowing this, Sidharth said, "No no this is not a good idea. I have no experience in teaching."

"I know but you were a brilliant student. You will be a great teacher too. Trust me." Said Shehnaaz trying to make him understand.

"I trust you but I don't trust myself. Mujhse nahi hoga."

Saying that, Sidharth was about to leave when Shehnaaz held his hand.

Sidharth and Shehnaaz went to meet the owners who talked with Sidharth, saw his qualification and appointed him as a science tutor.

A huge smile came to Sidharth's face as now he was not totally jobless while Shehnaaz became happy seeing his happiness.

In the evening, Sidharth started giving classes. At first he was feeling nervous when he looked at the door and saw Shehnaaz who blinked her eyes giving him confidence.

He then started teaching confidently and Shehnaaz smiled seeing it.

Like this, Sidharth slowly started coming back to his normal life. In the coaching center, he was teaching very well and was liked by the students. This thing boosted up his confidence and he understood that he could do it. He was still finding a good job and preparing for interviews but now he didn't use to be depressed like earlier. Because of this his family felt relieved. The financial problem was still there but they were happy that they got their old Sidharth back.

One day while returning from the coaching center, Sidharth and Shehnaaz went to Juhu beach as it had been a long time since they spent quality time like this.

While watching the waves, Shehnaaz said keeping her head on Sidharth's shoulder, "Jab hum 60-70 saal ke ho jaayenge na tab bhi aise Juhu beach pe aa ke samundar ki leheron ko dekhenge. Tab sayad mahol badal jaayega, log badal jaayenge lekin....."

Before Shehnaaz could complete, Sidharth said, "Humare bich kabhi kuch nahi badlega."

They looked at each other with love filled eyes and smiled thinking about their future.

Being frustrated, he hit the wall angrily while Shehnaaz came to him and stopped him.

She took his hand in hers and looked at him with teary eyes.

Shehnaaz kissed his hand and nodded her head negatively looking at him, indicating him not to hurt himself.

Sidharth sighed and pulled Shehnaaz in his arms for a tight hug to feel peace in her embrace.

Next day, they went to the gurdwara. Closing his eyes, Sidharth prayed from the bottom his heart so that they could come out of this difficult situation.

Shehnaaz smiled sadly seeing him praying and asked God to listen to his prayers.

Days passed like this. With a lot of struggle and efforts, the Shukla's managed to run the family. On the other hand, Shehnaaz's family wanted to give them financial support but Shehnaaz herself refused to take it. They were feeling sad seeing their girl whom they brought up like princess, was struggling so much.

One day, Shehnaaz was talking to Parminder Ji on phone. Sidharth was coming to the room when he heard their conversation.

"Puttar tu sacchi mein thik toh hai na waha? Itthe saare rishtedar keh rahe si ki humne kaise ghar vich saadi kudi nu bhej diya. Tu bhi humse naraz toh nahi hai na Puttar?" Asked Parminder Ji.

"Kaisi baatein kar rahi ho Mummy? Inne acche ghar mein meri shaadi hui hai. Aai toh mujhe aap se bhi zyada pyaar karti hai, aap ki tarah taane nahi maarti. Baba mujhe apni beti maante hai. Aur Sidharth ke baare mein kya hi kahu? Uska pyaar, uski care, inn sab ki itni gandi adat padh gayi hai na, main uske bina ek din, ek pal bhi nahi reh sakti. Rishtedaron ka kaam hai baatein bana na, unhe bana ne do. Woh mushkil waqt mein humari help karne nahi aayenge. Akhir mein toh humein hi ek dusre ke saath rehna hai, chahe kuch bhi ho jaaye."

Sidharth felt overwhelmed hearing Shehnaaz's words while Parminder Ji felt proud of her daughter.

"Aaj paata chal raha hai meri chhoti si Shehnaaz kitni badi ho gayi hai. Aise hi apne parivaar ke saath khada rehna humesha." She said.

"Ji Mummy." Replied Shehnaaz.

After hanging up, Shehnaaz looked towards the door and saw Sidharth standing there with moist eyes which were showing immense love for her. He was feeling blessed to have her as his wife who stood by him at every step of life.

"Life mein ab tak bohut kuch bura hua hai mere saath. Sayad aage aur bhi hoga. Lekin inn mein se ek chiz acchi hui hai. Woh hai tumhara meri zindagi mein aana. You are the best thing that happened to me Shehnaaz. Tum nahi hoti toh main iss situation se kabhi deal nahi kar paata. Himmat hi nahi hoti. Thanks for being my biggest support system." Said Sidharth from bottom of his heart making Shehnaaz emotional too.

At night, Sidharth was preparing for an interview and Shehnaaz was helping him in it. She was asking questions and he was giving answers.

While giving answers, Sidharth suddenly stopped when he saw Shehnaaz yawning as she was feeling sleepy. He noticed that it was late at night still she was awake with him and helping him. He smiled sadly looking at her.

Like this, amidst so many worries and difficulties they used to find out small happiness. They used to go for morning walks, spend their nights by watching stars, eat pani puri at roadside stalls and many more things.

Though it was the toughest phase of Sidharth's life, he was overcoming it with the help of his wife who never let his smile and laughter fade away from his face.

Few more days passed. Sidharth and Shehnaaz both were working so hard. Sidharth didn't get a good job yet but somehow they were managing everything. Also they were thinking of some other source of income but was not getting any idea.

It was 6 months marriage anniversary of Sidharth and Shehnaaz and he was planning to give her a surprise by taking her to a romantic dinner date in a restaurant.

"Bhai dekh na, thoda kam ho sakta hai kya? You know my situation very well. Main zyada budget ka afford nahi kar sakta. Thoda discount deke kar de na. It's our 6 months marriage anniversary, I want to make it special for her. Aur kuch toh nahi kar saka, kam se kam itna toh kar paau Shehnaaz ke liye." Said Sidharth to his friend on phone.

"Accha thik hai main manager se baat kar ke try karta hoon. Don't worry, manage ho jaayega." Replied his friend.

"Thank you so much yaar."

Saying that, Sidharth cut the call.

"Kis se baat kar rahe ho?" Asked Shehnaaz suddenly coming to him.

"Kisi se bhi nahi." Said Sidharth trying not to disclose the surprise.

Shehnaaz refused to believe it and said, "Jhut mat bolo. Maine suna tumhe kisi se phone pe baat karte hue. Ab agar tum nahi chahte ki main typical biwiyon ki tarah tumhara phone check karu, toh zaldi zaldi baatao kis se baat ho rahi thi aur kya baat ho rahi thi."

Sidharth sighed and said, "Ek friend se. Kaal humari 6 months marriage anniversary hai na toh ek dinner date plan kiya hai maine. Restaurant ke manager se uski jaan pehchaan hai isliye baat kar raha tha taa ki thoda discount ho jaaye. Waise toh shaadi se pehle promise kiya tha ki har hafte bahar dinner karwaunga jo ab pura nahi kar paa raha. Isliye at least iss special day ko hi acche se celebrate karne ki koshish kar raha hoon."

Shehnaaz became quiet for a moment hearing that and then asked, "Kaunsa restaurant hai?"

"Woh jo naya khula hai. Ruko Google pe kuch photos hai, dikhata hoon."

Saying that, Sidharth showed Shehnaaz some photos of the restaurant.

"Accha hai na?" Asked Sidharth excitedly.

"Thik hi hai par iss mein sirf 3 stars hai." Said Shehnaaz making faces. "Mujhe zyada star wale restaurant mein jaana hai."

Sidharth's face turned pale hearing that.

"Shehnaaz maine socha tha tumhe 5 star restaurant mein le jaaunga lekin woh humare budget se bohut upar hai. I'm sorry." He said sadly.

"Mujhe nahi paata. Hum apna 6 months marriage anniversary celebrate karenge toh zyada star wale restaurant mein hi karenge. Warna mujhe nahi jaana kahi bhi."

Saying that, Shehnaaz went to the bed and slept at her side. Sidharth thought that she was disappointed which made him sad.

He went near her and said, "Shehnaaz main try karunga ki tumhe 5 star restaurant mein le jaa saku. Hum apna 6 months marriage anniversary best jagah pe hi celebrate karenge. So don't be disappointed, okay?"

He kissed her head and lied at his own side. Though he said it but he didn't know from where he would arrange money for it.

Next day in the evening...

Sidharth returned home from the coaching center where Shehnaaz didn't arrive today. He thought that she was still angry on him thinking that he wouldn't take her out for dinner at 5 star restaurant.

"Shehnaaz, tum coaching center kyu nahi aayi? Tum abhi bhi gussa ho? Dekho aisi baat nahi hai ki hum 5 star restaurant mein dinner kar hi nahi sakte. Bank mein abhi bhi paise hai, waha se ho jaayega. Hum abhi chal sakte hai......"

Sidharth suddenly stopped when Shehnaaz came out of her room, wearing a beautiful saree.

He was speechless seeing her looking so gorgeous. And before he could say anything, she came to him and said, "Chal toh hum rahe hai. Par 5 star nahi 1000 star restaurant mein. I said na mujhe zyada star wale restaurant mein jaana hai? Aisa ek hi restaurant hai, the Shehnaaz's restaurant. Jo khana waha milta hai na, pure world mein kahi nahi milega. Chalo mere saath."

And she took him towards their room.
