Teri Meri Love Story (6.9)
The Haldi ceremony was arranged on the rooftop of Sana's house. With a heavy heart, Sid went there. He started helping Raj to look after the decorations. He put an air of happiness on his face so that no one could understand what he was actually going through.
Soon Sana and the other people came there. Sana's situation was the same. She was pretending to be happy in front of everyone. But only she knew the pain of marrying someone else other than that person with whom you have always dreamt of living a happy life.
Whatever it was, both accepted their destiny.
Sana sat at the middle of the rooftop and then everyone started applying haldi on her one by one.
Meanwhile Sid was adoring her from a far distance. Her face was glowing with turmeric paste. He smiled with teary eyes looking at her.
Kabhi gardishon ka maara
Kabhi khwahishon se haara
Roothe chaand ka hai chakor
When people were applying haldi, Sid was lost in his love. There were only a few days left. After that she would leave him forever. God knows, when he would be able to see her angelic face again. He just wanted to live this moment because once she would leave, he would only have the memories with him.
Zara se bhi samjhote se
Yeh parhez rakhta hai kyun
Maane na kabhi koi zor
After applying haldi, Santokh Ji saw Sid standing.
He went to him and asked, "Beta tu Haldi nahi lagayega Sana ko?"
Both Sid and Sana's face turned pale hearing that.
"Nahi woh main...."
Before he could speak, Santokh Ji said, "Aaj ke din har koi apna Dulhan ko haldi lagata hai. Tu bhi toh uska apna hi hai na? Aa mere saath."
Saying that Santokh Ji dragged Sid towards Sana while they both looked at each other.
Duniya jahaan ki bandishon ki
Yeh kahaan parwaah kare
Jab kheenche teri dor
Kheenche teri dor...
Sid stood in front of Sana. They both were controlling their emotions.
Parminder Ji somewhere knew what was going on between them. She just gave a forceful smile and told Sid to apply the haldi.
Sid took the haldi and slowly applied it on Sana's face.
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
Sana clutched her lehenga tightly and bit her own lips. But she didn't let her teardrops fall.
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
After applying the haldi, Sid immediately left from there while wiping his own tears. Because of that, he got some haldi on his face too which he himself didn't realise.
He kept leaving while his eyes were fixed at Sana. Sana also kept looking at him until he went away from her sight.
Khamoshiyon ki sooraton mein
Dhoondhe tera shor
Dhoondhe tera shor
After the haldi ceremony was over, they locked themselves in their rooms and burst into tears while thinking about each other.
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
The next few days passed very quickly. Sid attended both the Mehendi and Sangeet Ceremony just to get glimpse of Sana as much as possible. But he didn't stay in any function for more than 30 minutes as it was hurting him to the core.
In his free times, he went to the places where he and Sana used to hang out. He felt peace while remembering their funny and beautiful memories. Maybe they would never be able to create new memories again. So he wanted to keep those old memories alive in his heart forever. They were precious to him.
It was the last night before Sana's wedding. Sid went to Sana's house. In these days, he didn't talk to Sana at all, neither Sana did. So he thought to talk to her for the last time.
He entered her house which was very much crowded. He started looking for Sana among those people.
"Sana ko dhund raha hai?" Asked Parminder Ji.
Sid looked at her and slowly nodded in yes.
"Upar hai apne kamre mein. Jaa baat kar le." She said.
Sid hesitated to go.
Parminder Ji understood his situation and said, "Main jaanti hoon tu kya soch raha hai.
Aunty aap mujhe daanto, maaro, kuch bhi karo aap ka pura haq hai. Bas paraya kabhi mat bol na." Said Sid sadly.
Parminder Ji caressed Sid's hair lovingly and said, "Nahi Beta. Tu toh mere Raj jaisa hai. Iss ghar ka Beta."
Sid smiled hearing that.
"Jaa mil le Sana se." Said Parminder Ji to which Sid nodded in yes and went to Sana's room.
On the other hand, Sana was sitting on the bed with a box in her hand. She opened it and found a lot of things of her childhood. She took a medal and started caressing it.
At that very moment, Sid entered the room and sat beside her. Realising that, Sana looked at him.
"Tu kab aaya?" She asked.
"Bas abhi." He replied.
Sana again looked at the medal and said, "Tujhe yeh medal wala incident yaad hai? Hum tab chhote the. School ke annual sports day pe tujhe, Bhai ko, Trisha ko, sab ko koi na koi prize mila tha. Sirf main hi thi jise koi prize nahi mila. Main bohut ro rahi thi. Tab tune apna yeh medal mujhe pehna ke bola, school ki sabse cutest student hone ke liye mujhe 1st prize milta hai. Yeh medal mil ne ke baad meri khushi ke thikane hi nahi the. Par aaj sochti hoon, tune itni asani se apna medal mujhe kaise de diya?"
Sid chuckled and said, "Kya karta? Apna medal tujhe nahi deta toh tu chup thodi hoti?"
Sana gave a slight smile and kept the medal inside the box. Then she stood up and kept the box on the table while saying, "Sahi kehti hai Mummy. Bigad diya hai tune mujhe. Bachpan se aaj tak mujhe kuch face karne hi nahi diya tune. Tu mujhse sirf teen saal bada hai lekin humesha Bacche ki tarah sambhal ke rakha hai tune mujhe. Jab maine school jaana start kiya, tune apne haathon se mujhe ABCD likhna sikhaya, jab ki tu khud uss waqt sirf 1st standard mein tha. Jab mujhe cycle chalana sikhna tha, tune apni padhai chhor ke saara waqt mujhe sikhane mein laga diya. School ke baad ice cream kharid ne ke paise nahi bachte the toh Sid, aaj treat de de. Kabhi galti se homework karna bhul gayi toh Sid, please mera homework kar de. Thodi badi hone ke baad jab moholle ke ladke mujhe dekh kar seeti maar te the, Bhai se pehle tu pohuch jaata tha unki dhulai karne. Bachpan se le kar aaj tak mera har ek nakhra, har tantrum tune saha hai. Itna dependent tune mujhe bana diya hai ki ab samajh hi nahi aa raha London mein jaa ke main sab kuch akele kaise handle karungi. Udhar jab main roungi tab kaun hasayega mujhe? Jab main ruth jaaungi toh kaun pyaar se maanayega? Main toh bilkool akeli padh jaaungi Sid, bilkool akeli."
Sana was crying silently. Sid also stood up and went near her. He made her turn around and wiped her tears. Then he said cupping her face, "Jab handle nahi kar sakti toh mat jaa na. Mat kar Harry se shaadi."
Sana smiled with teary eyes and asked, "Toh phir kis se shaadi karu? Tujhse?"
Sid's face grew serious. He took down his hands while looking at another direction. He wanted to say yes but words didn't come out of his mouth.
Seeing his expression, Sana said sadly, "Mazak kar rahi thi."
Sid sighed and again looked at her.
After a long pause, he asked, "London kab jaa rahi hai tu?"
"Iss hi week Thursday ko." Replied Sana.
"Khush rehna." Said Sid and kissed her forehead.
"Try karungi. Waise ek baat kahu?"
Sid hummed.
"Abhi tak tera bohut ehsaan raha hai mujh pe. Ek akhri ehsaan karega? Tune meri shaadi ke saare functions attend kiye hai. Lekin kaal please tu meri shaadi mein mat aana. I request you." She said to which Sid nodded in yes.
"Nahi aaunga....Bye." He said and left from there.
After he left, Sana fell on the bed. She hold the pillow near her chest and started sobbing hugging it.
Rookhi-sookhi dil ki hai zameen
Jaane kahaan gum hui nami
Meri ummeed hai teri baarishein
At midnight, Sana was standing alone at the rooftop. It was her last night in her house. Soon she would leave this house, this colony and this city. But she would leave her heart here, near her Sid. She started remembering the time they spent together. Drinking alcohol together, watching favourite movie together on loop, sharing food from same plate, having fun in the first rain of Mumbai, getting scolded by parents together, she would miss every single thing which was related to them.
Ye sahe kayi baar pyaar ke
Tujhe har baar haar ke
Seekhe phir bhi kabhi nahi saazishein
Suddenly Shehnaaz felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned and saw Santokh Ji.
"Kaal teri shaadi hai aur tu abhi tak soyi nahi?" He asked.
"Neend nahi aa rahi thi Papa. Waise aap bhi toh nahi soye?" She said.
"Haan... Yeh soch soch ke neend nahi aa rahi ki kal ke baad ghar kitna shaant ho jayega. Koi shor nahi machayega, koi naya drama nahi hoga, koi baat baat pe yeh nahi kahega ki main chhor ke jaa rahi hoon, mujhse koi pyaar nahi karta......"
"Ahhaan! Papaaaa!" Whined Sana to which Santokh Ji laughed.
After sometime he asked, "Accha Beta, ek sach baat baatana. Tu khush hai na iss shaadi se?"
Sana's expression changed hearing that.
"Kyu Papa? Main aap ko khush nahi dikh rahi?" Asked Sana while trying to smile.
"Dikh toh rahi hai lekin, mujhe yakeen nahi ho raha. Agar meri beti iss shaadi se sach mein khush hoti toh shaadi mein apna pasandida designer lehenga kharid ne ki zidd kar rahi hoti, apne cousin sisters ke saath London thumakda gaane pe reels bana rahi hoti. Aise zabardasti ka muskura ke sabke haan mein haan nahi mila rahi hoti."
Sana couldn't say anything.
"Tujhe nahi pasand tha Harry toh reject kar deti." He said further.
"Papa Harry Ji perfect hai. Reject karne ka koi reason bhi toh hona chahiye." Said Sana sadly.
"Tu khush nahi hai, iss se bada aur kya reason ho sakta hai?"
Sana again didn't reply.
"Mujhe nahi paata tune kaunse dabaw mein aa ke yeh faisla liya hai. Lekin agar tujhe thoda sa bhi aisa feel ho raha hai ki tu iss shaadi se khush nahi rahegi, toh tod dena yeh shaadi."
Saying that he started leaving.
Sana frowned and asked, "Tod doon matlab? Papa kaal hi shaadi hai. Log kya kahenge?"
Santokh Ji stopped and said, "Iss baat ki fikar meri Beti ne kabhi kiyi hai? Umm..... Mujhe toh yaad nahi."
And he left. The whole night Sana kept thinking.
Next Day...
The Day passed with the rituals and wedding preparation. The wedding was in the evening.
As Sid told Sana, he didn't go to attend her wedding ceremony. Only Rita Ji and Trisha went to the lodge where the wedding ceremony held, leaving Sid alone in the house.
The lodge was in their colony. Rita Ji and Trisha went there. Raj, who was welcoming the guests, asked seeing them, "Sid kidhar hai? Aaj subah bhi nahi aaya."
"Woh.... Uski tabiyat thik nahi hai. Isliye ghar pe rest kar raha hai." Said Rita Ji.
"Arrey meri Behen ki shaadi hai. Aise kaise nahi aayega? Rukiye main usse bula ke laata hoon."
"Lekin Raj Beta....."
Before she could complete, Raj left from there.
He went to Sid's house and entered his room. At that time, he just started drinking alcohol.
"Ohho! Toh yeh baat hai! Thoda sa pee ne ke baad kisi bhi shaadi mein jaane ka maza hi kuch aur hai. Waise humare lodge mein bhi bar tha. Anyways, ab main bhi aa hi gaya hoon toh zaldi se ek peg taiyar kar mere liye. Dono Bhai pee ke shaadi mein chalte hai." Said Raj while sitting beside Sid on the floor.
"Mujhe shaadi mein nahi jaana." Said Sid while making another peg for Raj.
"Kyu? Akhir humari Behen ki shaadi ho rahi hai."
"Teri Behen ki. Meri nahi!" Shouted Sid making Raj scared.
"Tu bhadak kyu raha hai be? Accha sorry, my mistake. Meri Behen ki shaadi ho rahi hai. Par tu nahi aayega? You are my best friend."
"I have no interest in attending that wedding." Said Sid and drank the glass.
Raj also took a sip and said, "Tujhe abhi interest nahi hai. Bachpan mein toh tujhe bohut interest tha iss topic mein. Even tu toh kehta tha ki tu hi Sana se shaadi karega. Aur Sana bhi kehti thi ki woh tere alawa kisi se shaadi nahi karegi."
Sid suddenly stopped drinking and asked widening his eyes, "Kya bola tune abhi? Kya kehti thi Sana?"
"Ki woh tere saath shaadi karegi. Tujhe yaad nahi bachpan mein kehti thi?"
Sid started remembering.
Flashback...
Once Sid, Sana, Raj and Trisha were returning from school. Sana and Raj were fighting over some petty issue.
Suddenly Raj said, "Yaar Sana tu bohut buri hai. Mujhe na uss din jaa ke shaanti milegi jis din teri shaadi hogi."
"Ek minute!" Said Sid stopping him. "Sana ki shaadi se inn sab ka kya lena dena?"
"Mummy kehti hai shaadi ke baad ladkiyan ghar chhor ke dur chali jaati hai. Abhi kuch din pehle humari pados ki Dimpi mausi bhi gayi na, thik waise. Sana jaayegi tab accha hoga." Said Raj.
"Kya accha hoga? Sana chali gayi toh main khelunga kiske saath? Nahi nahi. Sana, tu kabhi shaadi nahi karegi." Said Sid.
"Bilkool nahi karungi. Mujhe bhi nahi jaana tujhe chhor ke aur Bhai ko puri zindagi pareshan karna hai." Said Sana to which Raj made a face.
"Lekin shaadi toh sab hi ki hoti hai. Sana ki bhi hogi." Said Trisha.
"Yeh bhi sahi hai. Ab kya kare?" Asked Sid and they all started thinking.
"Ek idea hai." Said Sana suddenly. "Sid, agar maine tujhse shaadi kar li toh?"
"Mujhse?" He asked being surprised.
"Haan. Iss se mujhe dur bhi nahi jaana hoga, kyu ki tera ghar paas hi mein hai. Aur hum charo humesha saath hi rahenge. Kyu? Hai na accha idea?"
"Kamal ka idea hai. Sana tu toh genius hai!" Said Sid excitedly.
"I know." Said Sana flipping her hair.
"Lekin agar tu baad mein palat gayi toh?"
"Nahi Baba. Main tujhse hi shaadi karungi."
"Pinky promise kar."
"Pinky promise."
They both joined their little fingers.
Flashback Ends...
"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Sid stood up murmuring.
"Kya hogaya?" Asked Raj standing up.
"How can I forget this? Sana ne waada kiya tha ki woh mujhse shaadi karegi? Woh kaise Harry se shaadi kar sakti hai?" He said making Raj confused.
"Tu pagal hogaya hai kya? Lagta hai zyada pee li hai tune." Said Raj trying to control him.
"Bro tu samajh nahi raha. Humne tere aur Trisha ke saamne promise kiya tha. Sana aur meri shaadi hogi, yeh bachpan mein decide hogaya tha. She can't marry anyone else."
"Tujhe paata hai tu kya bol raha hai? Sana teri Behen jaisi hai. Tum dono ki shaadi kaise ho sakti hai?"
Sid glared Harry and said, "Listen, your sister is your sister, none of my sister. Tu hoga uska Bhaiya, lekin main hoon uska saiyaan. We are already committed, isliye yeh shaadi nahi ho sakti. Main chala shaadi rok ne aur apna haq chheen le ne."
Saying that he started leaving in his t-shirt, shorts and sandals.
"Sid meri baat sun. Sid...."
Sid didn't listen to anyone and kept walking. The alcohol gave him another kind of courage. Now he was going to snatch his love from this world.
Ho.. tere liye aaj khud se hi bhaage hain
Himmat ke tukde bator
Ho bhaage zamaane se
Chhup ke dabe paanv jaise koi chor
Jaise koi chor...
Sana came to the mandap in her bridal dress. Here her mind and heart were still fighting a battle. But she was unaware that her love was coming to take her with him.
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore
Khamoshiyon ki sooraton mein
Dhoondhe tera shor
Dhoondhe tera shor
Soon Sid entered the mandap and Sana's heart skipped a beat. They both looked at each other.
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore..
Manchala.. mann chala teri ore..
