Shehnaaz was sitting in front of the gynaecologist. She came for check up after knowing about her pregnancy. Yes, she was one month pregnant. She was on cloud nine after knowing this as well as Sid. His dream of having his own baby came true. Shehnaaz's in-laws were also very happy and changed their behaviour towards her. Today was her first check-up. But she didn't go alone. Muskaan and Rihana were also there with her.

"Shehnaaz are you sure you want to keep this Baby?" Asked the gynaecologist.

Shehnaaz looked down not being able to come to any decision.

"Reports ke according tumhari pregnancy mein bohut complications hai. Even tumhari jaan ko bhi khatra hai. Meri maano toh tumhe abortion kar lena chahiye. Earlier stages mein hi abortion kar lene se risks bohut kam hote hai."

Shehnaaz closed her eyes and remembered those harsh words said by her in-laws. Also she remembered Sid's excitement when she first told him about her pregnancy. Everyone was expecting this baby from her. There was no chance she could abort it.

Rihana hold Shehnaaz's hands and said, "Bhabhi jaan doctor sahi keh rahi hai. Aap ko abortion kar leni chahiye. After all there is nothing bigger than your life."

Shehnaaz took a deep breath and said looking at the gynaecologist, "Bohut mannat maang ne ke baad humein yeh Baccha naseeb hua hai. Yeh humari jaan se bhi pyaara hai. Hum isse abort nahi kar sakte. Humne decide kar liya hai. I'm keeping this Baby."

Muskaan and Rihana became shocked.

"Think carefully Shehnaaz. It's about your life." Said gynaecologist said again.

Shehnaaz kept her hand on her womb and said, "Right now this Baby is my life. I want it at any cost."

"Ok then. Main kuch medicines suggest kar rahi hoon jo tumhe filhaal lena hai. Aur pregnancy ke dauran tumhe puri tarah se rest mein rehna hai. Zyada bhag daud nahi karna, koi heavy chiz uthana mat aur ho sake bilkool travel mat karna. Zara si bhi laparwahi jaan lewa ho sakti hai." Said the gynaecologist to which Shehnaaz nodded.

After visiting the gynaecologist, they came outside the clinic.

"Shehnaaz tum pagal ho gayi ho kya? Doctor ne kaha ki yeh pregnancy kitni risky hai phir bhi tum iss Bacche ko rakhna chahti ho? Aur itna bada faisla tumne akele kaise le liya? Kam se kam Sid se toh discuss kar leti." Said Muskaan.

"Haan Bhabhi jaan. Humein lagta hai aap ko ek baar Bhai jaan se discuss karna chahiye." Said Rihana.

"Accha? Aur aap dono ko lagta hai sach jaan ne ke baad Sid humein yeh Baccha rakhne denge?" Asked Shehnaaz making them quiet.

"Paata hai woh kitne khush the jab humne unhe baataya ki woh Abbu ban ne wale hai. Aur Abba jaan, Ammi jaan, Taya jaan, Tayi jaan inn sab ki khushi toh aap dono ne apne aankhon se dekhi hai. Kitne dino baad Ammi jaan aur Tayi jaan humse acche se baat kar rahi hai. Hum inn sab se inki khushi kaise chhin sakte hai? Hum yeh Baccha rakhenge, chahe kuch bhi ho jaaye. Woh toh accha hai Sid kaam ki wajah se 6 mahine bahar rehne wale hai. Na woh humare saath check-up pe aayenge, na hi unhe risk ke baare mein kuch paata chalega."

"Paata chalega. Hum unhe sab kuch baata denge." Said Rihana angrily. "Hum aap ko apni zindagi ke saath khilwar nahi karne denge bas."

"Rihana tumhe humari kasam. Tum Sid ko kuch nahi baataogi." Said Shehnaaz with teary eyes.

"Lekin Shehnaaz....."

Before Muskaan could say anything, Shehnaaz said, "Bhabhi jaan aap ko bhi humari kasam. Please unhe kuch mat baatana."

Rihana and Muskaan couldn't say anything else. Noticing how much Shehnaaz wanted the child, they chose to stay quiet though they both were against her this decision.

As soon as they entered her house, Fatima Ji asked, "Kya kaha doctor ne? Sab kuch thik toh hai na?"

Shehnaaz smiled slightly and nodded in yes.

"Allah ka lakh lakh sukhar hai. Ab bas ek pauta ho jaaye. Parivaar pura ho jayega humara." Said Fatima Ji.

Then she made Shehnaaz sit on the chair and gave her fruit juice to drink.

"Aaj se apni sehat ka pura khayal rakhna hai. Thik hai?" Said Fatima Ji smiling.

Shehnaaz again nodded. Fatima Ji and Shabnam Ji started giving Shehnaaz queen treatment which made Rihana and Muskaan confused.

"Kaal tak jis ko itna suna rahe the aaj suddenly woh itni pyaari hogayi? Hypocrisy ki bhi hadh hoti hai." Whispered Rihana angrily but Muskaan indicated her not to say anything.

At Night...

Shehnaaz was in her bedroom and talking to Sid on phone.

"Doctor ne kaha Baby bilkool healthy hai aur pregnancy mein bhi koi complications nahi hai." Lied Shehnaaz making Sid extremely happy.

"Paata hai yeh keh ke tumne humari chinta hi dur kar diyi. Kaash hum waha tumhare saath hote aur tumhara khayal rakh sakte. Par yaaha itna kaam aa gaya hai, 6 mahine tak yaaha se hil bhi nahi sakte hum."

Saying that, Sid made a face. Shehnaaz chuckled hearing that.

"Waise ek option hai." Said Sid suddenly. "Hum Shahid se keh dete hai ki woh tumhe yaaha USA mein le aaye, humare paas. Phir hum dono saath rahenge aur hum tumhara khayal bhi rakh sakenge. How's the idea?"

Shehnaaz's face turned pale remembering that the doctor told her not to travel during her pregnancy.

"Bad idea." She said immediately making Sid confused.

"Kyu?" He asked.

"Hum USA chale gaye toh yaaha pe humari recordings ka kya hoga? Itne saare movies pe gaane ke offers aaye hai, hum 6 mahine tak break thodi le sakte hai?"

"Haan yeh bhi sahi hai. Lekin ab se tum Mumbai akele mat jaana. Ho sake toh Shahid yaa Rihana ko saath leke jaana."

"Haan haan thik hai. Aur aap zyada fikar mat ki jiye. Yaaha pe sab hai humara khayal rakhne ke liye."

"Paata hai." Said Sid smiling. "Accha chalo bye, good night. Love you."

"Love you too." Replied Shehnaaz smiling.

After hanging up, she thought, "Humein maaf karna Sid. Hum aap se itna bada sach chhupa rahe hai. Lekin humare paas koi aur chara bhi toh nahi hai. Aap ke wapas aate hi hum aap ko sab kuch baata denge."

Soon Shehnaaz cancelled all her shows and rejected her singing offers as she couldn't travel to Mumbai in this condition. She had to take a very good care of herself as her pregnancy was risky. But Sid was unaware of it. Whenever they talked on phone, Shehnaaz never let Sid know about the complications. Even she didn't tell her mother about it as she knew how would she react. At that moment, the newborn's life mattered to her more than her own life.

Like this, months passed. Shehnaaz was now six months pregnant. It was the day of Sid's arrival. Shehnaaz was very happy as they would be able to see each other after a long time. She was decorating the room the way he liked.

But suddenly something happened. Her stomach started paining. At first, Shehnaaz ignored the pain as this kind of pain was common during pregnancy. But soon the pain became unbearable for her.

She sat on the bed holding her womb. She started whimpering in pain and tears started rolling down her cheeks. She couldn't understand what was happening to her.

At that very moment, Rihana entered the room and saw Shehnaaz in that condition.

"Bhabhi jaan kya hua aap ko?" She asked going close to her.

"Paata nahi Rihana.... Humein bohut dard ho raha hai..... Ahhhhhhh!"

Shehnaaz's condition became worse and Rihana got scared seeing blood stain on the bed.

"Kuch nahi hoga Bhabhi jaan.... Hum abhi sab ko bulate hai....."

Rihana started calling her family members. They were also scared. They took Shehnaaz to the hospital as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Sid's flight just landed. He was about to go home when Shahid called him and told him about Shehnaaz. Sid started panicking hearing that and immediately went to the hospital.

Reaching there, he saw his family standing outside.

"Yeh sab kaise hua?" He asked them.

"Paata nahi kaise, Shehnaaz ko achanak se bohut dard hone laga aur hum sab mil ke usse hospital le aaye." Said Fatima Ji.

Sid couldn't think anything as his mind became full of negative thoughts. The thought of losing the most precious thing of his life.

Shahid went to Sid and kept his hand on Sid's shoulder.

"Fikar mat ko Bhai jaan. Doctor dekh rahe hai. Bhabhi jaan bilkool thik hogi." Said Shahid consoling Sid.

After sometime, the doctor came out and Sid went to her.

"Doctor how's my wife?" Asked Sid worriedly.

"Aap Shehnaaz Mirza ke husband hai?" Asked the doctor to which Sid nodded in yes.

The doctor sighed and said, "Dekhiye maine pehle hi kaha tha abortion ke liye because yeh high risk pregnancy thi. But na toh patient ne meri baat maani aur naa hi unke gharwalon ne unhe samjhane ki koshish kiyi."

"High risk?" Asked Sid with disbelief. "Lekin Shehnaaz ne toh kaha tha pregnancy mein koi complications nahi hai."

"Iska matlab aap ko nahi paata. Dekhiye Mr. Ahmed maine first check-up ke time hi Shehnaaz se kaha tha ki woh iss bacche ko abort kar de. But she was adamant to keep this child. I told her that it can be life threatening but still she didn't listen. Ab humein zald se zald Shehnaaz ko operation theatre mein shift karna hoga. Bacche ko toh hum bacha nahi paayenge aur sayad Maa ko bhi......"

The doctor's unfinished statement made Sid shocked. His hands started shaking in fear.

"We will try our best."

Saying that, the doctor left from there.

"Kisi ne humein baataya kyu nahi ki Shehnaaz ki pregnancy mein complications the?" Asked Sid to family members.

"Beta humein bhi kaha paata tha? Check-up mein toh har baar Muskaan aur Rihana saath jaate the." Said Fatima Ji.

"Tum dono ko paata tha?" Asked Zakir Ji to which Muskaan looked down but Rihana didn't.

"Haan paata tha humein. Aur humne kisi ko kuch nahi baataya." Said Rihana with teary eyes.

"Kyu kiya tune aisa?" Asked Sid.

"Kyu ki Bhabhi ne hum dono ko kasam diya tha ki hum unke risk ke baare mein kisi ko na baataye, khas kar ke aap ko."

Sid couldn't believe her words. How could Shehnaaz do that? How could she hide such a big thing from him?

"Aur aap ko paata hai Bhabhi ne aisa kyu kiya?" Asked Rihana further.

"Inki wajah se." She said pointing her finger towards Fatima Ji and Shabnam Ji.

"Rihana!" Shouted Fatima Ji.

"Nahi Ammi jaan. Aaj hum bolenge ki kaise din ba din aap dono Bhabhi jaan ko mentally torture karti aa rahi hai. Baanjh kehti thi aap unhe, unko Rafiq ke aas paas nahi aane deti thi, kyu? Bas isliye kyu ki unko Baccha nahi ho raha tha. Uthte baithte unko taane maarti thi aap dono. Frustrated ho chuki thi woh. Chup chup ke kitna roti thi jo humne khud dekha hai. Bechari ko iss hadh tak majboor kar diya ki unhone apni jaan se pehle iss Bacche ko chuna taa ki aap logo ko khushi mile. Aaj Bhabhi jaan ki yeh haalat sirf aap ki wajah se hai."

Sid was shocked hearing Rihana's words. He didn't have any idea about this as Shehnaaz never told him. He knew that she was depressed because there was very low chances of her to become a mother. But the real reason was something else. It was his own mother and aunt who mentally tortured her which he didn't notice. He felt that he failed to protect his wife and that was why today he was at the edge of losing her.

"Sid aisa kuch bhi nahi hai. Hum toh sirf....."

Before Fatima Ji could complete, Sid said angrily, "Bas Ammi jaan. Kuch mat kahiye. Galti aap ki nahi hai. Galti humari hai jo humein paata nahi tha ki humare ghar mein kya ho raha hai. Kya kya sehna padh raha hai humari Shehnaaz ko. Bachpan se le kar aaj tak har baat sunte aaye hai hum aap sab ki. Bina aap ke permission ke kabhi kuch nahi kiya. Chahe woh Shehnaaz se nikah karna ho yaa nikah ke baad Shehnaaz ka singing line mein jaana, humne humesha har baat ke liye aap ko maanaya. Paata hai kyu? Kyu ki respect karte the hum aap ki. Lekin aaj Rihana ne jo kaha uske baad woh respect bhi humare dil se chala gaya."

"Sid yeh kya keh rahe ho tum? Woh tumhari Ammi jaan hai." Said Zakir Ji angrily.

Sid smiled sadly and said, "Iss hi baat ka toh dukh hai. Kaash humari Ammi jaan yeh samajh paati ki aurat koi baccha paida karne ki machine nahi hoti. Woh ek insaan hoti hai. Unko pyaar aur izzat dena chahiye, bacche na hone ke liye taana nahi. Jo aap ne kiya hai Ammi jaan, uski wajah se hum aaj Shehnaaz ko khone jaa rahe hai. Hum aap ko kabhi maaf nahi kar sakte. Aaj se humara rishta khatam."

Everyone was left shocked. Before they could say anything, the doctor came there and Sid looked at her.

"I'm sorry Mr. Ahmed....."
