2013~

Somewhere in a club...

Some boys were drinking together and having fun while playing truth and dare game.

"Sid ab teri turn hai. Baata, truth or dare?" Asked one of his friend.

Sidharth finished his drink in one go and said, "As you guys already know, truth is not my cup of tea. I am born to do something daring. So it's dare."

"Ok then I'll give you dare. You have to....."

His friend started thinking and then his eyes fell on a beautiful girl who was standing alone in the club.

"Kiss that girl." He said.

Sidharth also noticed her and asked pointing towards her, "That girl? Huh! Yeh toh mere baaye haath ka khel hai."

Sidharth was about to go when his friend said, "Wait wait! Ek condition hai."

He stopped and looked at his friend.

"Tu jaa ke usse aise hi kiss nahi kar sakta. Phir toh yeh easy ho jaayega. Tujhe jaa ke uss se permission leni hogi aur jab woh maan jaaye tabhi tu usse kiss karega. Basically you have to convince her for this."

"Itni si baat? Tum log sayad bhul rahe ho college ka sabse popular ladka tha main. Aaj tak kisi ladki ne reject kiya hai jo yeh karegi? Dekhna main yun jaaunga aur do minute maine kiss le ke wapas aa jaaunga. Just wait and watch!" Said that Sidharth went to that girl with confidence.

"Hi!" He said to her with a smile.

"Hello!" Replied that girl.

"Actually I need a favour from you."

"From me?" Asked the girl being little surprised.

"Yeah. "

"Ok tell me. How may I help you?"

"Woh mere friends ne mujhe ek dare diya hai. They want me to kiss you...."

The girl immediately widened her eyes hearing that.

"With your permission of course." He said further making her little relieved.

"Sirf ek kiss ki hi hai baat hai. If you agree then I can go ahead." He said nervously. It was the first time when he became nervous in front of a girl but he himself didn't know why.

The girl chuckled seeing his nervousness as he seemed cute to her. Seeing her smiling, Sidharth got some courage. He thought that she agreed for the kiss. He leaned closer to kiss which the girl understood and pushed him slightly.

"I'm sorry lekin main iss mein tumhari koi help nahi kar sakti."

Saying that, the girl showed him her hand and said, "I'm engaged! Kaal shaadi hai meri."

Sidharth immediately moved back hearing that.

"Look I'm extremely sorry. Mujhe nahi paata tha ki tumhari shaadi hone wali hai. Please don't mind." He said apologising.

The girl chuckled and said, "It's ok. Chill! Mere face pe likha thodi hai that I'm engaged? Ho jaata hai kabhi kabhi. Waise tum give up mat karo. Iss club mein aur bhi beautiful girls hai. Kisi na kisi se toh kiss mil hi jaayegi aur tumhara dare bhi complete ho jayega."

Sidharth looked down being little embarassed.

"Ok I'm going now. Bye."

Saying that, the girl started leaving from the club.

"What? Going? Oh shit!"

Sidharth immediately looked at his friends who were confused as the girl was leaving. He indicated them that she agreed and they were going together.

His friends smiled and gave him 'Enjoy Bro' wala look. Sidharth smiled forcefully and went after the girl.

"Lagta hai aaj baat kiss se bhi aage pohuchne wali hai. Sid ki toh lottery lag gayi." Said one of his friends and they all started laughing.

The girl was walking on the road when Sidharth went to her and started walking beside her.

The girl frowned seeing him and asked, "By any chance, tum mera peecha toh nahi kar rahe na?"

"Arrey nahi nahi. Aisi baat nahi hai. Actually kya hai na, agar main club mein wapas gaya toh mere friends ko paata chal jaayega ki main dare complete nahi kar paaya. Phir woh bohut leg-pull karenge mujhe. Aur club mein wapas nahi gaya toh unko lagega ki main puri raat tumhare hi saath tha and....."

"And we had sex together, right?" Asked the girl directly.

Sidharth widened his eyes seeing her boldness and then said, "Honestly speaking, yes. Aur main chahta hoon ki woh iss galat fahmi mein hi rahe. At least unke saamne mere izzat ka faluda toh nahi hoga."

The girl didn't say anything and laughed silently.

"By the way, I'm Sidharth.... Sidharth Shukla." Said Sidharth forwarding his hand.

"Shehnaaz Gill." Said Shehnaaz shaking hands with him.

"Toh kaal sach mein tumhari shaadi hai?" He asked further.

"Of course hai." She replied. "Main tumse jhut kyu bolungi?"

"No I mean..... maine expect nahi kiya tha ki koi dulhan apni shaadi ke ek raat pehle aise club mein aa sakti hai."

"Mere gharwalon ne bhi expect nahi kiya hoga ki main aisa kuch karungi. Lekin maine kiya aur iss baat ka paata unhe kabhi nahi chalega. Woh kya hai na, aaj ki raat, meri azadi ki aakhri raat hai aur main isse khul ke jeena chahti hoon. Bachelorette hui hai meri lekin itne logo ke bich main thik se enjoy nahi kar paayi. Isliye aaj raat main kisi se bina kuch kahe ghar se nikal aayi. Puri raat main celebrate karungi, woh bhi sirf apne saath."

Sidharth smiled hearing her words and said, "Tumhari thinking toh kaafi modern hai. I liked this. Tum pakka love marriage kar rahi ho, hai na?"

Shehnaaz nodded her head negatively and said, "Arranged marriage."

"Itni modern thinking wali ladki arranged marriage kar rahi hai?" He asked with disbelief. "Quite surprising!"

"Arranged marriage karne mein kya galat hai? Bachpan se Mummy Papa ne har chiz mein freedom diya hai. Isliye jab unhone mujhse kaha ki Foreign se ek bohut accha rishta aaya hai, toh main maana kaise karti? Ab iss Simran ki zindagi mein koi Raj toh tha nahi. So I thought kyu na arranged marriage hi kiya jaaye. Also they are my parents and they knows the best. Ladka accha hai, family acchi hai, Washington mein rehte hai woh log. Shaadi ke baad mera NASA jaane ka sapna bhi pura ho jayega."

"NASA?"

"Yeah. I'm a space scientist. Mera bachpan se sapna hai NASA jaane ka. Waise tum kya karte ho?"

"Main ek game designer hoon. Just kuch hi dino pehle job mili hai mujhe. Iss hi liye mere friends ne party rakhi thi."

"Nice."

Sid stopped for a while and then asked, "Accha ek baat baatao. Tum shaadi kya sirf NASA jaane ke liye kar rahi ho?"

"SIRF NASA jaane ke liye nahi. I also want to get married. 23 saal ki hoon main aur apni zindagi mein settle hona chahti hoon. Taa ki kuch saalon baad main proudly keh saku ki mere paas acchi job hai aur saath mein ek accha husband bhi. And that will be my happily ever after."

"Happily ever after? You believe in this concept?"

"Yes. I strongly believe that sab ki life mein happily ever after hoti hai. Meri ho rahi hai. Tumhari bhi zald ho jayegi."

"I hope so."

Sidharth paused for a while and asked, "Waise tum bura na maano toh aaj ki raat kya hum sach mein ek saath bita sakte hai?"

Shehnaaz's face grew serious hearing that.

"Don't get me wrong. Main bas itna keh raha tha ki tum puri raat apni azadi enjoy karna chahti ho. Toh yeh akele boring nahi ho jaayega? If you want, I can accompany you. Mera ghar wapas jaane ka bilkool mann nahi hai. Iss se accha hum dono saath mein enjoy karte hai. I promise tumhari azadi ke inn akhri palon ko yaadgar bana dunga main."

Shehnaaz thought for a while and said, "Sounds cool! Waise tum mujhe safe lagte ho. So I don't have any problem."

Sidharth smiled hearing that.

"Ok then it's decided. Hum dono aaj raat full masti karenge. Main tumhe ek jagah leke chalta hoon. It's a great place. You will definitely like it."

Saying that, Sidharth hold Shehnaaz's hand and took her with him. They both were very excited for this night as they were going to experience something new that too with a stranger.

Soon they entered a small bar, and sat at a table. Some girls were singing in their not so melodious voice. It didn't take time for Shehnaaz to get bored.

"Yeh hai tumhari special jagah?" Asked Shehnaaz making faces.

"Kyu? Accha hi toh hai. Itna badhiya drink milta hai, udhar ladkiyan itna accha gaa rahi hai, sahi hai sab kuch." Said Sidharth.

Shehnaaz looked at the girls who were singing wearing short dresses.

"Ab main samjhi yeh jagah tumhari itni favourite kyu hai. Sach sach baatao, ladkiyon ko dekhne aate ho na tum?"

"A...a.. aisa nahi hai.... Main toh basa.... Yun hi.... Aa jaata hoon...." Said Sidharth trying to cover up.

Shehnaaz rolled her eyes and said, "Rehne do. Sab paata hai mujhe. You all guys are same."

Sidharth made a sad face and asked, "Itni kharab hai kya yeh jagah?"

"Bilkool nahi." Said Shehnaaz giving a fake smile. Sidharth also smiled hearing that.

But the next moment she changed her expression and said, "Wahiyat hai."

Sidharth's smile faded away.

"Kya kaha tha tumne? It's a great place." She mimicked him. "Jagah toh kharab hai hi aur yeh ladkiyan bhi kitni besuri hai. Upar se ek boring sa gaana gaa rahi hai. Yaaha aadhe se zyada log toh so rahe hai. Arrey music toh aisa hona chahiye jis se log apni jagah se uth ke dance karne lag jaaye. Aur yaaha toh.... Entertainment ka E bhi nahi hai yaaha. Really Sidharth, you spoilt my night."

Sidharth sighed and stood up.

"Entertainment chahiye na tumhe? Ruko main deta hoon."

Saying that, he went towards the stage making Shehnaaz confused.

He stood on the stage and snatched the mic from the girls.

"Yeh kya badtameezi hai?" Asked one of the girls. "Mic wapas do, humein gaa na hai."

Sidharth started laughing hearing that.

"Ma'am aap gaana nahi gaa rahi thi, lori suna rahi thi. Dekhiye sab kaise so rahe hai."

The girls noticed that the people were actually sleeping and felt insulted.

"How dare you! Tum hote kaun ho yeh bolne wale? Hum singers hai iss Bar ke. Kolkata se specially hire kiya gaya hai humein yaaha gaana gaa ne ke liye. Ab chup chap mic wapas karo."

"Woh toh nahi hoga." Said Sidharth smiling.

Everyone in the bar woke up from sleep because of this drama. They became curious to know what was happening. Shehnaaz was also not being able to understand what Sidharth was doing.

"Just give the mic...."

Before the girls could snatch the mic from Sidharth, he started singing looking at them.

Gaane de mujhe

Shehnaaz gave a huge smile seeing his singing talent. Sidharth winked at her and then sang looking at the other people in the bar.

Aane de na mujhe

Shehnaaz also went to the stage and stood beside Sidharth pushing the other girls. She started dancing and singing with him.

While dancing, Sidharth tried to come close to Shehnaaz but she again showed him her engagement ring. Sidharth made a sad face to which Shehnaaz chuckled and pulled his cheeks.

Shehnaaz and Sidharth went down the stage and started dancing with full energy.

Soon the other people of the club joined them and they all had a lot of fun while dancing.

They left the bar together and started walking in the empty alleys of Mumbai while singing, dancing and enjoying together.

Sidharth suddenly went to someone's house and pressed the doorbell.

"Yeh kya kiya? Pakde jaayenge toh maar padegi." Said Shehnaaz.

"Pakde jaayenge tab na." Said Sidharth.

Before the house owner could come out, Sidharth and Shehnaaz ran away from there.

Aaja milke afwahe udaaye
Ghar ghar gharwalon ki
Naakon ko kataaye

After coming to a far distance, they started laughing loudly. Some people on the road started staring at them being puzzled.

Noticing them, Sidharth said, "Yeh log humein pagal samajh rahe hai sayad."

Shehnaaz also saw them and then said, "Samajhne do. Kya fark padta hai?"

And they again started laughing.

Thodi si dekho teri bhi
Thodi meri bhi hone de badnaami

They stood at the middle of the road and started dancing closely leaving everyone confused.

Haan bolo woh jawaani kya
Jisme na ho thodi si ayashi

Soon the traffic police came and gave his whistle and hearing that, Sidharth and Shehnaaz again ran away holding hands.

They both came to a bridge. Shehnaaz stood on the railings and danced showing some sexy moves while Sidharth was recording her video.

Then she got down and together they clicked many beautiful photos as a memory of that night.

Like this, they enjoyed the whole night together. In spite of being strangers, they felt like they both knew each other since years.

It was 4 am. Shehnaaz returned home and Sidharth also went with her.

"I think ab goodbye kehne ka waqt aa gaya hai." Said Shehnaaz little sadly.

Sidharth was also sad. He paused for a while and then suddenly said, "Chhoro yaar yeh shaadi vaadi. Girlfriend ban jaao na meri."

"Kya?" Asked Shehnaaz laughing.

"Yaar main 1 mahine se zyada single nahi reh sakta. Aur idhar 6 mahine ho gaye koi girlfriend nahi mili. Ab aur nahi raha jaata. I urgently need a girlfriend. Aur tum bilkool sahi ho mere liye. Humari vibes bhi kitni match hoti hai. Saath rahenge, chill karenge, life kitni mazedaar ho jaayegi. Kya fayda uss Boring, NRI ladke se shaadi kar ke?"

"Baat toh sahi hai. Par kya kare? Tum mujhe pehle nahi mile na? Ab kuch nahi ho sakta."

"Kuch bhi nahi?"

"Yeah. Kuch bhi nahi."

Sidharth wiped his fake tears dramatically making Shehnaaz laugh again.

"By the way, tumse mil ke accha laga. Tum nahi hote toh meri azadi ki akhri raat bohut boring ho jaati." She said further.

"That's my honour." Said Sidharth bowing down.

"Ek aur baat kehna chahungi. Tum bohut acche ladke ho Sidharth. Kaal hum puri raat saath rahe lekin tumne ek baar bhi aisa kuch karne ki koshish nahi kiyi jis se main uncomfortable ho jaau. Woh kiss wali topic bhi tumne dobara nahi chhedi. Zyada tar ladkiyon ki 'Na', ladko ko samajh kaha aati hai? Par tumhe woh samajh aayi. Tum sach mein kaafi different ho Sidharth. I just hope, Param bhi tumhare jaisa ho."

"Param.... Tumhara hone wala husband?"

Shehnaaz nodded in yes.

"Mere jaisa toh nahi ho sakta. Kyu ki God ne ek hi piece banaya hai." Said Sidharth with attitude.

Shehnaaz chuckled and said, "Woh toh hai. Aur jo bhi ladki tumhari zindagi mein aayegi, woh bohut lucky hogi."

"Lekin woh ladki aayegi kab?"

"Zaldi aayegi. Meri instinct bol rahi hai. Bohut zald tumhe bhi tumhara pyaar mil jayega."

"I wish aisa hi ho."

Shehnaaz and Sidharth kept silent for sometime.

Then she took a deep breath and said, "Ok bye. Main chalti hoon. Aur....."

Shehnaaz went closer and pecked Sidharth's right cheek making him shocked.

"Apne friends se kehna kiss mil gayi."

Saying that, Shehnaaz winked at him and went towards her home. Sidharth blushed a little.

Suddenly he realised that she was leaving and said, "Arrey phone no. toh deti jaao. Hum touch mein kaise rahenge?"

"Kya fayda? Main toh Washington jaa rahi hoon shaadi ke baad." She replied.

"Iska matlab hum phir kabhi nahi milenge?"

"Duniya bohut chhoti hoti hai Sidharth. Kismat mein likha hoga toh phir zaroor milenge."

Sidharth just kept looking at her retreating figure with a smile on his face.

"Shehnaaz!" He called loudly and she turned back.

"Best of luck! Wish you a happy married life ahead."

Shehnaaz smiled and replied, "Thank you."

Then they waved each other goodbye and parted ways.

Next day, Shehnaaz got married and after few days moved to Washington with her husband.

On the other hand, Sidharth also met a girl and this time he actually fell in love with her. They entered into a serious relationship.

Both Sidharth and Shehnaaz were happy with their partners and thought that they got their happily ever after. Very soon they almost forgot about each other.

But as it is said, the world is very small. So the destiny decided to make them meet again but under very different circumstances and they both were unaware of it.
