51. {allison's death}
─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───
"we've done this before, guys." scott announced to his pack. "a couple of weeks ago, we were standing around, just like this, and we saved malia. remember? that was a total stranger— this is lydia."
they were all stood the gates of outside of camp oak creek, where meridith walker had indirectly told them lydia would be.
"actually, i don't think i was there." moonee spoke.
"and i don't think you should even be here right now." stiles sighed. "none of you should be."
"i'm here to save my best friend." allison argent stated.
"i came to save mine." scott confessed, glancing over at very pale looking stiles. paler than usual, that is.
"i just didn't feel like doing any homework." isaac lahey shrugged.
moonee nudged him. "way to ruin the mood, dude. hey... mood and dude, that rhymes!"
allison sighed, taking the younger girl's hand. "you guys can go to lydia. i'll look after her."
"i do not need to be looked after!" moonee protested. "i am fourteen now."
"barely." scott reminded her before kissing her forehead goodbye. "thank you."
allison gave him one last smile and stepped into the gate with her by her left side. as the four walked, they were stopped by noshiko yukimura and two of the oni with her.
"kira, turn around and go home." noshiko ordered. "take your friends with you."
"i can't." kira yukimura shook her head in disobedience. "when i looked at the game, i realised who i was actually playing— you."
allison raised her crossbow while moonee gripped onto her metal killing bat tighter. "call them off."
"you think you could take him alive?" noshiko scoffed. "you think you can save him?"
"what if we can?" kira asked.
"i tried something like it seventy years ago." noshiko admitted. "your friend is gone."
"are you sure?" kira inquired. "or if stiles doesn't have to die, maybe that means rhys didn't have to die, either?" the girl took a step forward, and the two oni immediately drew out their swords.
"i see i'm no longer the fox now, kira— you are." noshiko said. "but, the nogitsune is still my demon to bury."
"why won't you just let us save them?" moonee questioned.
"so you brought a baby with you to battle?" noshiko asked.
moonee was visibly insulted as she scoffed. "i am not a baby." her eyes began to glow grey just to prove her strength.
"we brought an elementum." allison shrugged, defending her friend.
as moonee grinned, the oni disappeared into thin air, their black mist being all that was left of them. noshiko opened her hand to see that fly on her palm had stopped glowing and soon disappeared too. the woman let out a gasp
"mom?"
"what is that?" isaac whispered. "what does that mean?"
"it means there's been a change in ownership." void stiles marched over to them, six oni standing behind him in defence. " now, they belong to me."
they immediately attacked, void stiles merely standing aside as the four teens were forced into battle. one of them thrust forward, their sword aiming for moonee's stomach. she used her bat to harshly knock it out of its hand, the utilisation of the air making the impact even stronger. it dropped to the floor and moonee quickly put her arm out and threw the demon warrior back. she was still quite inexperienced with her abilities, and so the oni wasn't forced back as far as she had hoped.
still, she had enough time to swipe the katana off the ground and raise it to attack. noshiko had been watching her every move, surprised she had managed to get her hands on their weapon. the oni charged forward, wanting it back, and moonee stabbed it in its stomach before using her right foot to kick it to the ground.
"how do we stop them?!" isaac yelled as the oni were physically overpowering him.
"you can't!"
moonee had been too distracted looking at her friend on his knees and injured that she hadn't even noticed another oni step behind her, their sword prepared to strike.
"moonee!"
suddenly, an arrow whistled through the air and impaled the oni in its chest. the sword dropped to the floor, and the oni ruptured into flash of green light. the ground began to rumble as it disappeared.
"ali, you figured it out!" moonee cheered in excitement, making her smile. the young teenager rushed over to allison, to congratulate her.
but another oni had moved over instantly, forcing its sword into allison's abdomen. moonee froze in spot as the sword came out of her faster than it entered. a heart-shattering scream escaped from her chapped lips as she dropped to her knees. her brother rushed forward, throwing the gate open and catching his ex-girlfriend just before she collapsed onto the ground.
isaac immediately moved over to moonee, taking her into his arms. she leaned back into him, her body trembling. kira moved over her mother, who quickly secured her arms around her.
"allison?" moonee cried as she watched. "allison?!"
"MOON!"
...
"moon, you have to wake up."
─── ∙ ~εïз~ ∙ ───
"moonee, wake up!"
"allison?" moonee mumbled. the girl's eyes shot open to see stiles stilinski hovering over her. the girl flinched at the sight of him, mistaking him for the evil version she had just seen in her flashback.
the mccall had laid down in the corner of the station, hoping to catch some sleep. but the dream ended up being a nightmare that the girl struggled to wake from.
"i'm awake." she groaned, lifting her body from the concrete floor and stretching to crack her aching back.
"look." stiles pointed over to the complete opposite side of the building.
she could see hayden and mason sharing an embrace while her mother was sat in one of the seats, her head resting on chris argent's shoulder.
"mommy?!" moonee called out.
melissa's head immediately shot up and she began to glance around the area, trying to locate where the voice came from. her eyes handed on her youngest child and her face visibly softened. the nurse stood up to her feet and rushed over to her.
"hi, baby." melissa cried, wrapping her arms around her and taking in deep breaths, moonee's jasmine and rose scent trickling into her nostrils. melissa pulled away and gently cupped the girl's cheeks. "i'm so glad you're okay."
"what are you doing here?" moonee frowned.
"obviously they were taken in the wild hunt." stiles pointed out the obvious. melissa looked over to him and quickly pulled him into an embrace.
as the two greeted one another, moonee made her way over to argent, gave him a pat on the shoulders before being engulfed by her two friends.
"where's fran and corey and liam?" she questioned.
"they're okay." hayden spoke up. "they both managed to get away on time."
"good, good." moonee sighed, not catching her exact words as she raked her fingers through her dark, straight hair. "any updates on what's going on back home?"
they all looked at each other, making moonee grow suspicious.
"guys?"
"liam brought back an... old friend." mason explained.
"friend?" she quizzed.
"well, your old friend." hayden shrugged.
"theo?!" moonee exclaimed.
"yeah." mason nodded, sheepishly.
"you guys let him bring that idiot back?" moonee groaned. "how did you manage to convince noshiko?"
"she just said we'd be responsible for any consequences." hayden shrugged. "and besides..." she mumbled something that moonee didn't catch.
"what?"
she did it again.
"hayden." moonee glared.
"liam broke the sword in exchange for information about mr douglas." mason stated. "and now theo's back, permenatly."
moonee's mouth fell open. "in exchange for information about mr douglas?! what is there to know about him? he's hot, he's funny and he's our physics teacher!"
"he's also a nazi that has been locked in a tube since the war." argent spoke, monotonously. "and he finds pleasure in eating peoples pineal glands, even ghost riders."
moonee just blinked at his statement before sighing. "i'm gone a couple days and beacon hills goes to shit."
"a couple days?" mason frowned.
"moonee, it's been more than two weeks." hayden told her.
"weeks?!" moonee gasped. "i've been doing nothing here for a weeks??"
"if you call non-stop pestering and harassing all these other people 'nothing' then yeah, you've been doing nothing." stiles sassed.
"moonee." melissa scolded her with a sigh.
the girl just shrugged in defence. "i was bored, okay?"
"liam really misses you." hayden gave the girl a sad smile. "i think he's cried at one point."
"good, good." moonee nodded. "he feels bad for the lacrosse game."
"he feels terrible." mason corrected her. "he'll be so glad that you're okay. you haven't seen corey, have you?"
"corey's here?" moonee frowned. "i thought you said they got away?"
"i meant fran and liam."
"then, no i haven't seen him. i'm sorry."
as they continued to talk, stiles noticed a bright light shining from opening of the train tracks. he began to slowly move over to it, no one else noticing his temporary absence.
"attention all passengers, the train will be arriving in twenty five minutes." the announcement spoke. everyone all stood up and began to rush over to the front of the station.
"lydia!" stiles called out, her voice echoing in his ears.
"hey, where are you going?" moonee turned, only to be hit with the florescence. "what the hell is that?"
stiles turned back to her. "let's find out. you guys stay here."
"yeah." moonee agreed. "you're still new around here. let's leave it to the professionals, okay?"
mason chuckled, shaking his head. "you are such an idiot."
"try find corey!"
as the two moved passed the everyone else, they eventually got separated. a gunshot rang through the air and everyone stopped. moonee was stuck behind them, trying to jump up and see what was going on. unbeknownst to her, sheriff stilinski had shot the bullet and was now speaking to his son.
moonee shoved passed them all, trying to reach the front. a hand gripped her wrist and stiles pulled her onto the train tracks.
"are you crazy?" she groaned, "what if i landed wrong and broke every bone in my leg?"
"come on!" stiles exclaimed, running to the bright light.
moonee followed behind him, her heart racing as she wondered if this would finally be their way out. "wait! what if we end up like that guy who went before peter?"
"i can hear her." stiles whispered.
"you can hear who?"
"lydia." he spoke louder. "i can hear lydia." again, stiles took her hand and yanked the girl into the light. the two ran forward, their bodies moving through the tunnel, unharmed.
suddenly, they were in the blue jeep. moonee could smell an overwhelmingly scent of grass and dirt when she lifted her head. sat beside her in the driver's seat, stiles was panting. the boy glanced over at her, instantly drawn to her eyes.
"your eyes." he gaped.
moonee furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. she reached over and pulled down the mirror from the roof of the car, only for it to break under her touch. "really?" she asked stiles, who merely shrugged. the sight she saw in the mirror made her face fall in bewilderment.
her irises were not their natural dark brown, but now a glowing, forest green shade.
"what the fuck?!"
