Year: 2007

   Oh my gosh! I still can't believe this is happening. "Remember you can't tell anyone,' said Director Nicholas Fury. We drive to a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. facility. Wait did that sign say New Jersey. Why Jersey of all places. We finally get there and I see a woman with dark hair standing outside. She had a stern look on her face. I get out of the car. "Agent Hill, meet S.H.I.E.L.D.'s newest and youngest recruit," said Fury.

   "Calicia Berns," I said as I hold out my hand to shake hers . She crosses her arms and looks at me. I put my hand down and put my hands in my pocket. Agent Hill looks back at Fury.

   "Director Fury, you're needed inside," said Hill. I follow them inside. S.H.I.E.L.D agents ran around in a hurry to get form place to place. 

  "Director Fury. Agent Hill. Agent Berns," said a man in a business suit," you made it just in time." How did he know who I was? Well I guess he knows who I am cause he's a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. 

  "Agent Berns meet my second in command, Agent Phil Coulson," said Fury. This is the coolest thing a 17 year old could do.

I shake Coulson's hand and tell him Its an Honor to meet him, he counters saying its a pleasure to meet one of the Brightest trainees in the class. he looks at Fury, and tells him that Agent Wilson did it again. I wonder who Agent Wilson is and what did he do. I follow them to the landing strip and hear someone shouting from a wooden crate. Maria grabs a crowbar and opens the crate. Someone who I assume is Agent Wilson, well I hope director Fury doesn't become Director Fuming.

A couple months have passed since I first joined, and things have been interesting. Its pays good, I've been able to pay my apartment rent. I carry three coffes in a drink carrier. I run into Maria and hand her a coffee. "Yes I made sure correct. One Black coffee extra bitter, hold the cream," she nods her head in approval and I walk off. 

Do you know how hard it is to make sure your coffee doesn't spill when your desk is freaking vibrating. Mine almost spilled onto my lap twice. I hear a knock on my desk, looking up I see Coulson. "Thanks for the coffee, Berns," said Coulson with a sense of gratitude.

"Not a problem. I had to ask around how you and Maria liked your coffee," I said with a smile. 

"I heard you're a junior in college. Aren't you only 17?" he asked. 

I laugh, "well I graduated from Midtown High when I was 14." He looks at me in shock. What I'm a smart kid. "Hey Coulson, I heard you have some Captain America trading cards," I said to change the subject. 

"Yeah a vintage set. They worth a lot cause they are in mint condition," said Coulson. I ask if he minds if I can take a picture with him. He says he doesn't mind, so I pull out my camera and as I hold it up to take a picture I see Agent Hill. I grab her wrist and pull her into the photo. I take the photo and Maria holds her hand out for the camera. I tell her I'm not going to show anyone and she walks off. I can't wait to put this photo frame. Over the intercoms I hear that I'm needed in Director Fury's office.

I finally reach Fury's office after getting lost a couple of times. I knock on the door. I hope this isn't really serious like getting fired serious. I hear someone say come in, so I open the door and walk in. " Um you wanted to see me, Director Fury?"

"Have a seat," said Fury and I sit down in they chair in front of his desk, "Agent Berns, do you know why you're here?" Was this a trick question? Unable to say anything I just shake my head no.

I clear my throat and say, "No, I don't know." I twiddle my thumbs from being soo nervous. I'm afraid of what he will say next. 

"You are here because you were picked out of the best of the trainees. You passed every test. you learned every strategy fast than any of the other trainees," he said.

"Well sir, my father mainly taught me all that I know, well when he was around," I told him. My father was never really around. He was in the military. But when he did come home for a while he would train me and my sister self defense. For a reason I never knew why, but my father was always proud of my younger sister, even when she messed up he never got mad, but when I failed at certain things he would get mad. So most of the time I kept training by myself. 

"Agent Berns, I did not call you here for a backstory," snapped Fury which snapped me back to reality," I called you here so I could give you information for your mission." What did he just say?!

"M-my what?" I asked him not knowing if I heard him right.

"Did I stutter Agent Berns, your mission."

Ah France, the country of beauty and historical landmarks. Its a shame I don't get to see any. I have to stay on task for my mission. But at least I can look at some art at the Art gallery that I will be at for my mission. I change into a green and gold dress that goes down to my knees. I don't usually wear make up but I put some on to make sure I don't look like I'm 17, so I can actually get into the gallery with out any suspicion. I head outside and see Demetri who is taking me to the gallery, from what Hill said. 

A few minutes later and I make it to the gallery. I see so many people speaking mainly French but also other languages. Lucky for me I aced my foreign language classes. I get stopped at the door by a security guard who asks me for my name. I give him the alias I was given to go by, Symphonie DeVille. He lets me inside after finding the name. 

About an hour has passed and I finally spot the buyer that is going to get some highly sensitive information. I follow him trying to make sure I don't get noticed that I am following him. He reaches a back area where there is a few people there but not that many as in the main area. he goes into a room and I put my foot in the door to stop it from closing all the way. I stand there listening until the door swings open and a tall muscular man grabs my arm and I'm pulled into the room onto the ground

He tells the people in the room that I was eaves dropping and I say in the best French accent I could that I wasn't. I stand up and the one who pulled me in the room holds a gun to my back which in a mater of seconds take it out of his hands. And then I punch him right in the nose which cause him to swear in Japanese. Welp I'm screwed if I don't get the information and go. I quickly grab the information and run out of the room.

I lose them for now in the crowd." Maria, got the information, but there is a slight issue. I got like four people chasing me." I say into the ear piece. Maria tells me Demetri is waiting outside. I finally make it outside but I don't see Demetri. Frick where is he. I turn around and everything goes black...
