Welcome to the Side Quests starring The Life of Ace Journeyman. These are short adventures featuring Ace as he tries to unravel the mystery surrounding his father's disappearance. In order to do so he must work with Ether Operations (E Ops), the agency that polices transbeing (those gifted with powers) events.

Ace arrived at Neo-Geo Mountain as part of an internship. He soon discovered that the dig site supervisor, Dr. Richter, knew his father and had been there when he disappeared. As Ace looks further into the mystery, he soon discovers he has unusual powers. When he is asleep or otherwise unconscious he can travel to the Astral Plane. Once there, he is able to combat strange forces that have an unknown agenda for the world.

Main characters:
Ace Journeyman: An intern at the Neo-Geo dig site that discovers that there was more to his father's disappearance than he thought. He soon discovers that he is able to travel to the Astral Plane.
Glen Otero: Ace's best friend. He is seemingly non-confrontational and enjoys geology.
Sandy Onyx Richter: Dr. Richter's daughter sent to spy on Ace. Ace has a crush on her.
Field Commander John Watermark: Ace's boss within E Ops. Gruff but protective of those he commands.
David Windmaker: Ace's E Ops handler. He believes that transbeings and humans could one day co-exist.
