"Abigail, are you done yet?" I hear Stephen yell through the bathroom door. I'm sitting in the bathtub with my knees pulled up to my chest.

"Patience is a virtue, baby!" I yell back and resist biting my nails. It's so hard to break nervous habits.

"Well, that may be but it definitely isn't one I have today!" I laugh a little at him and that makes some of the butterflies in my stomach fly away.

"Two minutes is the wait time, I don't control these things!" I yell back. I get up and bounce from the tips of my toes back to my heels.

I hear him say quietly, "Two minutes feels like a thousand years." I hold a hand to my mouth to prevent a giggle from escaping.

"I heard that!" I yell and then check the test again. The results make me scream and start jumping up and down.

"Abigail?" Stephen knocks on the door. "Abigail, what is it?" I do a little dance in the bathroom, unable to control my excitement. "Abigail I'm just going to come in, I've seen you naked before, I really don't think it matters." I laugh and open the bathroom door before he breaks it down. He's standing right outside it, his eyebrows up, expression worried and hopeful at the same time.

"It's a yes. We're going to be parents!" In that moment his face bursts into a beautiful smile. I put the pregnancy test in the trash as Stephen comes in and picks me up in his arms. I'm crying and laughing at the same time as Stephen runs around the house yelling with me over his shoulder. He runs into the kitchen and plops me down on the island. Then he kisses me. His kiss is frenzied and happy. Mid-kiss I start giggling uncontrollably and he has to pull away. But he pulls away smiling.

"I wonder if it's a boy! Oh, or a girl!" I laugh and put a hand on his face.

"Well, chances are it will be one or the other." I tell him. He's almost vibrating with excitement. Then he calms down a second and puts his head against my stomach.

"Hey, baby." He says sweetly. "I'm your dad." I giggle a little at him and tangle a hand in his already tousled hair. "You're in your mom's tummy right now. That was her laughing, doesn't she have a wonderful laugh?" I stare down at him lovingly. Then take a hand and pull his face up to mine. Once he meets my eyes I say,

"I love you." I tell him and then give him a gentle kiss. He returns the kiss then whispers,

"I love you too. The both of you." He smiles. I pull my face back from his to see his face better.

"You know it's not gonna be all sunshine and roses right?" I ask and his face turns into a happy form of confused. "Morning sickness, cravings, a big belly, mood swings, a small bladder, everything. Got to take the good with the bad." The confusion on his face disappears and leaves only happiness in its wake. He pulls my back into his arms and I can't help but smile.

"Honey, I can handle the side effects of having a baby growing inside you. Don't worry about it." I shake my head slightly as he says this. 'He has no idea what he's in for...'
