Part 13

Small disclaimer. I have ZERO clue how all the shit was childbirth works or how it is handled at hospitals, like no clue at all, so there's gonna be inaccuracies about the whole process lol.

"Out of the way!" An angry Anakin shouted as he rushed an in labor Ahsoka to the hospital. Her water had just recently broke and they were rushing to get her there. Anakin was driving a larger land speeder with Rex in the passengers seat with him. Ahsoka was in the back with Lux and Padme who were trying to help the young girl keep her composure and keep her breathing steady.

"It'll be okay 'Soka. Soon we'll have our beautiful baby enter this world," Lux said attempting to calm the pained togruta. He grabbed onto her hand and started rubbing the back of it with his thumb.

"It'll be okay?!?! Lux I feel like I'm about to explode!" Ahsoka countered angrily as she squeezed his hand as hard ash she could, causing the young man to emit a small cry of pain.

"Ahsoka he's just trying to make you feel better, no need to snap at him," Padme scolded.

"Sorry Padme, but this is worse then any pain I've felt though the force or during battle. Worse even then the time I was possessed by the Son on Morris."

"I know it hurts Ahsoka, and I'm very much not looking forward to it myself, but just try to relax. Deep breathes, u can squeeze Lux or I's hands if u need to." At the last part Lux gave her a look that said 'are you insane?' To which Padme just laughed at the poor boy, he was in for a rough couple hours.

Finally they reached the hospital. Ahsoka had insisted she could walk by herself, but naturally Anakin and Rex refused. The two older men carried her inside and were followed closely behind by Lux and Padme. Upon entering, the nurse at the front desk immediately figured out what was going on, and urged them to follow her. She took them to a room within the hospital where Ahsoka would give birth.

Lux was the only one allowed to enter with her because he was the biological father. The others had to wait outside of the room, but because it was made of glass the could see through to make sure everything was going alright.

The doctors and robots immediately went to work, connecting Ahsoka to a heartbeat monitor, IV and other various machines to make sure she was doing okay. Lux say there with her through the whole thing.

Outside the waiting room, Anakin paced back and forth. He knew Ahsoka was in great hands and would probably be okay, but there was a piece of him that still worried. Worried because he couldn't do anything, he felt helpless, much like he had felt with his mother. If something went wrong with the child birthing process, he wouldn't be able to help Ahsoka. He'd lose someone else close to him, and he didn't want that to happen.

Suddenly, Anakin felt a hand rest on his shoulder. He turned to see the smiling face of his wife. "Ani, take a seat. You're not gonna do anything pacing out here. Ahsoka will be fine."

"She's right Anakin. All that you're gonna get with that pacing is holes in your boots, and you know you don't get any new ones from the Council so you'll be stuck with those," a voice said from behind him.

Anakin rolled his eyes. "Thanks Master, I can always count on you to ease my mood."

"Of course my friend."

"I know Ahsoka is going to be happy when she sees you. She asked if you were coming."

"Of course I was going to be here. I wouldn't miss our padawan's most important moment."

The two turned back to look at their padawan. She seemed relatively okay for the moment. She was breathing heavily and Lux sitting next to her looked pale in the face and was shaking one of his hands. This caused the whole group outside of the room to laugh at Lux's pain. Ahsoka had undoubtedly crushed his hand with her grip.

"How did it go on Utapau?" Padme asked Obi-Wan. She was eager to know the status of the war and to take everyone's mind off the girl in labor int he other room.

"It went well. I confronted General Grievous and his droid army. My troops handled his and he tried to flee but I followed him, eventually getting the best of him and killing him. The droid army is now in disarray with their leadership having been decimated and it seems as though the war will be ending here soon."

"That's wonderful!" Padme exclaimed.

"Yes, the official peace talks with the separatist senate begin next week."

"I wish I could be there," Padme said with a sigh, "but I have to be here, have the babies in a safe place."

"I'm sure they'll do fine with out you," Anakin said, "besides, how hard could it be. The separatists have obviously lost so they just need to sign the peace treaty and boom were done."

Both Padme and Obi-Wan began to laugh. "Anakin, it's not that easy. They have to negotiate terms of surrender, what's to happen to the separatist systems, potential punishment, etc. It could take a while before everything is all wrapped up," Obi-Wan pointed out.

"You never were one for politics Ani," Padme said with a smile.

"Yeah that's your area Senator," Anakin said returning the smile and kissing his wife sweetly on the lips.

Through the whole conversation, Rex had remained silent, seemingly deep in thought. "Something on your mind Captain?" Obi-Wan asked.

"Us clones, we were bread to be soldiers. Without this war we wouldn't be here. What happens now that it's over? Do we serve as a standing army should a new threat arise? Do we try to work our way into everyday life as a normal person? I just wonder what will happen to us once the fighting has stopped."

"I'm sure the Republic will find a use for the clones, you guys could be an awfully good deterrent against any potential new threat that arises," Padme reassured. Rex just nodded in response.

The group turned back to face Ahsoka in the room. Her breathes had become shorter and more rapid and she seemed to be gripping Lux's hand even tighter now. Finally she started pushing, the doctor helped guide the baby out and held it up, a boy. Ahsoka said something but no one outside could hear her. The baby was wrapped in a blanket and handed to Lux who held the baby boy, smiling down onto him. However, it was not over. Ahsoka began to push again, and out popped another baby, this time a girl.

"Twins," Padme gasped in excitement.

The baby girl was wrapped up in a blanket similar to the little boys and handed to Ahsoka. She and Lux just gazed upon their babies in awe. Their hearts full of Alan sorts of emotions. Finally, Ahsoka looked out of the room to the waiting group and motions for them to enter. Anakin was the first to make his way in, quickly walking up to Ahsoka.

"Are you okay? You feel alright? How are the babies? Are they all good?"

"Master, calm down everything is okay," Ahsoka said with a giggle. Obi-Wan was the next to enter. "Master Kenobi!" Ahsoka exclaimed excitedly. "I'm so glad you were able to make it."

"Of course Ahsoka, and Master Plo sends his regards and his regret that he could not join us today."

"Well when you return to the Temple tell him thank you and that I miss him." Obi-Wan responded with a nod.

"Hey kid. How ya feeling?" Rex asked next.

"I'm feeling alright Rex, exhausted, but happy."

"Soooo... the question we're all really wondering. What're their names?" Padme asked.

Ahsoka smiled. She held the baby she was holding up a bit. She had tufts of brown hair on her head, light orange skin, and white facial markings, similar to Ahsoka's own. "This is Ani Mina Tano-Bonteri. Named after my Master," Ahsoka said beaming at Anakin, "and Lux's mother, Mina." Anakin gasped at the announcement of the name and tried to find words but couldn't. He just collapsed to the ground and began to cry.

"Mina was a very good friend of mine and an amazing person. She saw a real connection between you guys when you first met. She'd be proud of what you two have become." Ahsoka and Lux just looked at each other and smiled.

"And this," Lux said holding up the baby boy. Much like his sister he white facial markings, but his skin was more pale, and he sported almost light blue hair resembling the color on his mother's lekku. "is Ben Rex Tano-Bonteri. Named after Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, though I'm not sure how you got the name 'Ben', and Captain Rex of the 501st."

Obi-Wan and Rex both had similar reactions to Anakin. Both were left speechless at the announcement and were completely shocked.

"Everyone in this room has been an integral part of my life and my growth as a person and I only felt it right to honor you guys in the naming of my children. As for godparents... Padme, Anakin, you are the godparents for Ani. Obi-Wan, Rex, though it may be unconventional to have two godfathers, I see no one better suited then you two to be the godparents to Ben."

"Ahsoka I will speak for the men in the room who all the sudden seemed to forget how to talk, we are all very honored that you would choose us."

Anakin slowly got up from the floor and walked over to Ahsoka, tears still streaming down his face, a smile present as well. "C-can I hold her?" He asked weakly.

Ahsoka had never seen her Master so emotional, not even when she told him she would be leaving the order to stay with Lux and raise their kid (which had actually turned out to be kids). "Of course you can Skyguy," Ahsoka replied with a smile. She gently handed Ani over to Anakin who carefully took her in his hands. He rocked her back and forth in his arms, just starting down on her smiling.

"Hey little one," he spoke softly, "I'm your u
uncle Anakin. It's nice to meet you." The baby just looked at him blankly, but raised a hand to his face. Anakin smiled and grabbed the hand in one of his and shook it. This caused Ani to giggle and bit. Ahsoka just looked at her baby and her master and smiled. Nothing could ruin this moment, everything was perfect.
