Chapter Thirty
Jamie's POV
"So how was the date then?" I speak into the phone after I woke up to a call from Maggie.
"Oh Jamie, it was amazing. Ryan is just so incredible and sweet. I know we just started going out and all, but I'm falling for him fast."
I laugh, "that's normal. And good!! I'm glad that you found him. I think you guys will be good for each other."
I can practically see her blush over the phone as she responds in a shy voice, "thanks."
I smile even though she can't see it, "so where did he take you? What did you do?"
"He cleared out this spot in the forest, and had a blanket lain down and all these flower petals on the ground. He had a picnic set up. Then we went on this walk and there was a little stream with a tree fallen across it, we sat on it for a while and ... We kissed. Then he also asked me something...."
"What did he ask?!" I exclaim.
"He asked me to junior prom!" She screeches.
"Oh my gosh!!" I squeal with her.
Over the phone we sound like two little girls who just bought the newest barbie or something.
"Oh my goodness Jamie, we have to go get dresses!!" She tells me.
I suddenly realize this, we do need dresses, and prom is in about a month.
"Are you free today?" I ask her.
"Umm. Yeah I think so. My mom and I are going to go for dinner later, but that's about it." She says.
"Oh right, tell her happy birthday for me," I say, "and if you aren't doing anything, come over and we can catch a ride in town and try to find some dresses, there are some cute boutiques."
"Okay, I'll be over in a bit. Yeah, I'll tell her that for you."
"Okay, thanks see you soon."
"Alright, see ya." She tells me and we hang up.
I walk downstairs and everyone is still asleep, seeing as it is only 8:00 in the morning on a Sunday.
I see Noah, still passed out on the couch. I sneak over quietly and jump on the foot of the couch he is on.
Noah gets startled immediately, jumping up, "whaa-" he starts, but once he sees that it is just me, he calms down.
Smiling he greets me, "morning babe."
"Morning." I laugh.
I reach my hands out, and Noah grabs them, pulling himself up so he is seated somewhat beside me. He holds the back of my neck and kisses me lightly on the lips. I kiss him back, responding immediately. His hands drift ever so slowly down to my back, pulling me closer to him. Our kiss gets faster and I lose sense in my body. I keep getting closer to him, as he leans back. He falls back all the way and I lay on top of him, never breaking our kiss. My hand goes to his face, outlining his jaw bone. I begin to giggle, remembering that my parents got home yesterday, "my parents," I gasp breathlessly in between kisses.
"I don't care," he states, trailing kisses down my face.
I giggle again and he laughs once, deeply. He kisses my lips once more, long and slow. Really drawing it out. "I love you so much Jamie." He says, sighing and looking into my eyes.
"I love you too." I whisper, kissing his cheek fast once more and getting up off of him, sitting up, and helping him along with me.
"What do you have planned today?" Noah asks me.
"That is actually what I came to talk to you about before we got a little... Distracted..." I laugh, "I am going dress shopping with Maggie for junior prom."
He smiles, "just tell me what colour you end up getting so I can buy a matching tux. I'm sure whatever you buy though, you will look stunning in, as you normally do."
My cheeks heat up at the compliment, "thank you, and you'll be the first to know."
Noah winks at me as I say this.
"What are you planning on doing then?" I ask.
"I was actually thinking of visiting my dad. I haven't been there for a little while and I was thinking of spending the day with him. He has a therapy session later on so I was thinking of taking him around town maybe, getting something to eat, just hanging out and then I'll sit in on the appointment."
I smile at him, "I think he would like that."
Noah smiles back at me, "I meant to ask, who was it that called you yesterday?"
I smirk immediately, remembering the conversation, "that ex of yours, Angie."
Noah's face turns dark, "what did she say?"
"She told me that you didn't love me and that I was nothing but a bet, she told me that you'd be begging to get back together with her soon."
a look of concern and hurt flashes through his eyes, "gosh, Jamie, I am so sorry, you know that she is lying though, right? I would never eve--"
I kiss his lips softly to shut him up, and it seems to do the trick as he kisses me back with passion.
I pull back and disappointment is evident on his face, "relax, Noah." I tell him, "I know that she was lying, and that she is just jealous of what we have. Don't worry, I know you. I also may have put her in her place." I smile deviously at the last little bit.
Noah smirks, "whatever it was that you said, she definitely deserved it. Also, I'm afraid those calls won't stop. Once Angie has her mind to something, she doesn't stop. but don't worry okay? Whatever she does, we're in this together. I'm not leaving you. I love you."
"I love you too." I respond to the sudden serious conversation.
Just then, I hear a knock at the door. Assuming it is Maggie, I go open it.
"Hey Jamie." Maggie greets, confirming my suspicions as to who it was.
"Hey. Sorry, I'm not even ready yet. Come in, are you hungry?" I ask.
"No, I'm good for now thanks. Hey Noah." She says, spotting him on the couch.
"Hey Maggie," he says, "how was your date?"
A blush ignites Maggie's face as her eyes cloud with memory, "it was amazing. That boy of yours really knows how to plan something romantic, I'll tell you that."
Noah smiles in genuine happiness, "I am glad you guys hit it off. I can't tell you how many days I have spent hearing about how much he likes you."
Maggie giggles, "we should go get ready then?"
"Yeah. I just gotta change and do my makeup. You can come, or stay here if you'd like."
"I'll come," she says and follows me up the stairs.
"So how are we going to get there?" Maggie asks as I throw on a simple outfit: jean shorts, a plain white T-shirt, and a black and white kimono.
"I could ask my mom for a ride?" I reply as I then do my hair up in a simple bun and apply tthe lightest bit of makeup, just some concealer, powder and a little eye liner on my bottom lashes.
"Yeah that sounds good." Maggie replies.
I grab a pair of black flats, my purse and we head back downstairs, ready for our day of shopping.
