4. Hold me tight
Jinyoung's POV
Mark and I laid under the moonlight him sleeping peacefully in my embrace. I looked over at him and let a warm smile appear on my face. There was something about him that made me feel the need to protect at all times and make sure there was a smile on his beautiful face. It's strange but I like the feeling of it. I like the feeling he gives me.
Being here with him is so nice and comforting. It's like with just a smile we say a thousand words to each other and I think that's beautiful. I think he's beautiful.
Staring down at his peaceful state I caressed his cheek admiring the art that was him. I couldn't seem to take my eyes off of him and I didn't want to. I wanted to remember every inch of his face so when I'm away from him I could just close my eyes and see him. My eyes then traveled to his oh so soft lips. So pink. So pretty.
I found myself just inches away from his lips when I noticed he was staring at me. Freezing in my spot I looked into his eyes as he continued to stare at me with a confused yet shocked expression. I quickly pulled away embarrassed. Mark stood up and continued staring at me but now with a smirk.
"What were you doing?" He asked.
"Nothing" I replied back looking at the sky not daring to return his stares.
"You call almost kissing me nothing?" Mark said as he leaned closer to me. I leaned back now looking at him he still having that playful smirk on his lips.
"When did you become so confident Mr. Shy boy?" I commented taking him off guard. I took this chance to then dominate him and tower over him. He laid on the grass under me with a smile staring into my eyes. He practically glistened as the moonlight shown on him. I was looking at an angel.
"You can kiss me if you want" he spoke in a soft voice. As I was just about to lean down screams could be heard from the village. That alarmed both Mark and I not knowing what was going on. I ran to my horse motioning for Mark to follow me.
"What's happening?" he asked in a frightened voice as I placed him over my horse.
"I don't know but we have to go find out."
He clinged onto me as we rode back into the village. Fires were everywhere as people screamed and cried. Up ahead I saw my men in battle with 'the untouchables'.
"Lock you and your father in your shop and no matter what don't open the door. I'll come get you okay?" I told Mark as I dropped him at his father's shop. He had rushed inside to get my battle gear trembling. I felt bad that I couldn't hold him in my arms and comfort him.
"What about you?" he asked holding onto my hand asking me to stay with his eyes.
"I have a job to do" I replied letting go and charging into the battlefield with a heavy heart. Taking a quick look back I saw all the destruction that was made and reminded myself that it's my duty to protect all these innocent people. I pulled out my sword and started slaughtering anyone that came my way. I built up anger so that it could give me energy to keep fighting through. I imagined one of these creeps just touching Mark and that alone made me furious.
"Captain! The castle is being attacked!" one of my soldiers yelled snapping me back to reality. 'I need to protect the king and the prince' I thought looking over at the castle with wide eyes. I quickly sped over there with all my might hoping I wasn't too late.

Mark's POV
My father told me to hide in the closet as he was going to hide in the kitchen and hit whoever came in behind the head. I had my knees close to my chest and tried to drown out the deadly screams by covering my ears but it didn't work. It only grew with the clashing of metals.
Never did I think this day would come. I don't think any of us did. We were so certain they wouldn't come yet here they are terrorizing the village. Just then the thought of Yugyeom and Bambam came in mind. Are they okay? Are they safe? Although Jinyoung told me to stay here I needed to know if they and their family were alright. I may not be skilled or know anything about combat but I have to try for them.
Slipping out the window from my room I took out a dagger from my boot and took in a deep breath before slowly going to Yugyeom's house. I made sure to look at my surroundings before crossing the street to his dark house. I went in through the back not wanting any bandits to spot me.
"Yugyeom" I quietly yelled. No answer.
"Yug-" I was cut off with a hand covering my mouth someone dragging me into a room. I squirmed panicking but saw Bambam in front of me with a finger over his mouth to hush. I sighed and saw that Yugyeom was the one who covered my mouth. I quickly hugged both of them thanking god they were still alive.
"How did you even manage to get here?" Yugyeom whispered taking a quick peek through the blinds. I'm guessing we were in Yugyeom's room at how messy it was.
"Your house isn't that far and I was worried about you guys so I took the risk and went" I replied as Bam gave me a small smile.
"You're stupid" Yugyeom said as he punched me lightly on the shoulder.
"For thinking of you, yes I am."
Then we heard some shuffling outside our door. We immediately got quiet and I got in front as I was the one with a weapon. Shaking with fear I only thought of the worst having two lives on my shoulder. The door nob shook for a few seconds but then stopped. I sighed in relief but sighed too soon as the door was kicked open. We all screamed but saw that it was only Jackson, Jinyoung's second in command.
"I thought we were going to die" Bambam yelled throwing a pillow at Jackson.
"Hey I'm here to save you. Now let's go quickly before you are gonna die" he said in a stern voice. That caused us to quickly to get on our feet Jackson leading the way.
"These guards will take you into the forest where our base is, you'll be safe there. We already took your family there so don't worry. I have to go back into the castle" Jackson spoke as he then rushed away in the direction of the palace.
But what about Jinyoung? He told me he would come for me. Why hasn't he come yet?
As Bambam and Yugyeom talked to the guards I quickly slipped away running towards the castle not caring if I was in plain sight for anyone to kill me. All that was running through my mind was Jinyoung.
As I was getting closer I stopped catching my breath as I hadn't ran that fast before in my life. Jinyoung must be really special if I'm willing to run till I feel like dying.
Hearing commotion up ahead I looked up as saw that Jinyoung was dueling with someone. Before I could even scream his name he had been knocked off the bridge into the fast moving high current river.
"JINYOUNG" I screamed. I quickly looked over at the man who did this but the gate to the castle had been shut. I was too late. Then my instincts kicked in.
Jinyoung.
Spotting a horse I quickly got on and followed where the river took him. He didn't look like he was conscious which worried me. I dashed through the trees trying to keep my eye on him not wanting to lose him. I spotted a clearing quickly going there so I could reach for Jinyoung.
Getting off the horse I ran to the water but didn't see him anywhere. I started to panic thinking I missed him but as I turned my view he was laid on top of some rocks not moving. I ran towards him and checked for a pulse. He was breathing but barely. I then thought back to when my mother taught me survival skills as a young kid. Pumping his chest at a steady rate I then shut his nose as I blew air into his mouth. I did this repeatedly hoping I could bring him back.
Just when I was about to lose hope he got up coughing and breathing heavily.
"Jinyoung!" I screamed as I hugged him. "You're alive" I kept repeating holding him in my arms.
"You saved me?" He said in a hoarse voice. I nodded with a small smile but soon faded as I noticed blood was trickling down his leg. He was also trembling as he was soaked wet.
"You're bleeding" I commented as I took off my jacket to warm him up. He winced as he tried moving his leg.
"Stay here. I'll be right back" I told him knowing exactly what he needed.
"It's not like I can go anywhere" he replied wincing more.
Quickly looking around for what I needed I finally found it and used my dagger to cut it. I went to Jinyoung and firstly washed his cut before applying the plant onto his cut. He gritted his teeth holding onto my arm for support. I then took off my shirt wrapping it around his leg tightly knowing it'll heal in a few days.
"What did you put on my leg?" He asked.
"Aloe Vera. It's a plant. It helps with basically anything. My mother use to deal with medicine and herbs so I sorta know how to deal with stuff like this" I said sitting next to him.
"Well that's pretty useful. Thank you though...for saving me."
"You did save me before so I had to return the favor" I chuckled.
"Hey can I tell you something?"
"What is it?"
"Can you never wear a shirt again because you look hot" he smirked.
"Can you shut up and cuddle me because I'm cold."
"Come here."
Laying there on the rocks we snuggled close to each other and looked into one another's eyes. I was slowly falling more for him but I didn't care. He made me feel something that I hadn't felt in my life before.
"Jinyoung....I'm scared" I confessed looking into his eyes for warmth. He gently grabbed my cheek moving his thumb in circular movements to calm my worries.
"I won't let anything happen to you Mark. I promise" he replied.
As the sounds of waves were crashing around us our lips soon met for a soft sweet kiss.
Smiling we both cuddled closer to each other falling asleep in each other's embrace not letting go afraid that when we wake we would be apart.
