I'm a hoe for reflecting and appreciating the things that happened over the past year because I think it's important to recognize the positive, especially in recent years when everything has felt like crap. I especially wanted to do this because I was feeling down about how few updates I published for Mostly Ghostly, which I had planned on finishing. Once I actually took a look at how much I had written this year, I was pleasantly surprised!

Consider this a "Wattpad Wrapped" or "Wattpad Rewind" for my account— all of the things I accomplished this year :)

THE FIRST CHAPTER I PUBLISHED IN 2022:

Aftermath, Act 4, Chapter 1: "Welcome to the End of Your Life" published 4 Jan 2022.

I was ecstatic to publish this because a very kind soul sent me a link to download Spider-Man: No Way Home, allowing me to write and upload the chapter way sooner than I expected. I believe I wrote it in one day because I was hyped to be writing for Lena, Graham, and Peter again after a long break while I waited for the movie's release.

THE LAST CHAPTER I PUBLISHED IN 2022:

What We Do In the Shadows, Chapter 4: "A Secret to the Grave" published 29 December 2022.

I was really happy to get this out before the new year so I could squeeze in one last published chapter from 2022. Plus I had so much fun writing Laura's interactions with Steve! It's hard to believe I'm already on episode 3 (and almost done with it, for that matter). I expected there to be a lot more chapters for each episode considering how long they are, but I think that will change once everyone is all together. With the teenagers separate from the Eleven storyline right now, there's not too much going on for them.

I think this is a good reminder that you should read ongoing stories and support authors as they work on their books! Some people like to exclusively read completed books, but it's very important for motivation purposes to interact with ongoing stories so the writers finish them knowing that people are enjoying their work. You can see here that my completed works almost always gained more reads than the ones I'm currently working on. Please! Support your authors! Even a vote means the world to us!

I wrote almost the entire length of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince this year. Absolutely insane. And this is just counting the published chapters— not anything I have in my drafts!!

I'm not surprised that my longest chapters are from Aftermath. Act 4, Chapter 11 (the most recent chapter of the book) is the longest one of the series, and the longest one I've ever written for a single chapter of a fanfic. It was bananas. Took me weeks to write. Had a mental breakdown. Cried over my characters. Will probably never publish a chapter that long again because it was just... a LOT.

The other chapters are long simply because I added so many of my own scenes and dialogue which made an already packed movie even more fleshed-out. The third-longest chapter, Act 4, Chapter 5, was entirely my original ideas and it's one of my favorites. It allows the kids to just have some fun (aside from things going awry during Peter and Lena's date) and left me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Everyone was singing karaoke. It was fantastic.

If I had finished Mostly Ghostly, I feel that the finale chapters could have booted some of the Aftermath ones out of the list since I have a feeling they're going to be long. I have a lot of things to wrap up before I publish the sequel! Here's to it finally being published in 2023 after 3 years of sitting in my drafts 😭

MY MOST READ CHAPTER OF 2022:
Aftermath, Act 4, Chapter 1: "Welcome to the End of Your Life" with 7.31k reads

This makes sense considering it was my first chapter of the year and also the first one of Act 4, which a lot of people were anticipating. I honestly can't believe it's gotten THAT many reads though! That's crazy.

This also makes sense that it's received the most comments. Longest chapter = more to comment on. Emotional chapter = people screaming. Parkos content = people SCREAMING. Goblin battle = people crying. Then people yelling at me for the cliffhanger I left it off on :)

Even considering that this number includes my own comments from replying to people, it is INSANE, especially since it's my most recent chapter of the book. It's absolutely wild that it's garnered so many comments!! Even if most of them are people yelling at me LMFAO.

CONCLUSION:

This was a fun way to reminisce on the progress I've made this year. I hope to do the same thing again and look back on 2023 fondly in this aspect. Did I reach all of my goals? No. Is that okay? Yes! Because I will reach them this year and be very proud of myself. (Ahem, finishing Mostly Ghostly.)

Looking at my numbers has shocked me— especially seeing how many words I wrote in published chapters this year. I cannot BELIEVE I wrote that much! Will I surpass that number this year? We shall see!!
