62 | spotify wrapped 2022
It's that time of year again: where I show you my Spotify Wrapped results like any of you actually care.
Like last year, the first results I share will be from my personal spotify. Then I'll show the ones from my Wattpad account.
I feel like they started to condense a lot of their genres together because last year I listened to 139 genres and this year it was only 86. But I do think it's interesting how far up the "Rock" genre moved!
I would like to mention that the "Rap" category is mostly from me listening to my playlist of 80s-2000s rap. I listened to "Bottoms Up" by Trey Songz so many times I thought it was gonna be on my top 5 LMAO
"Upbeat Angst Hopeless Romantic" that's just .... me as a person
WELL GOSH DANG. This is WAY more than I've ever accumulated before in the past 6 years I've been using Spotify. I will admit that I did listen to a lot of rain sounds and white noise while I slept sometimes, but that would be on a timer and it wasn't every night.
I feel like what contributed to this massive number was my weekend shifts at my old job where I was the only one there, so I'd play music. And I was in the car a LOT so I was always listening to it then (I never play the radio).
I LIKE TO PLAY THIS SONG WHILE WALKING OKAY. IT GETS ME PUMPED AND MAKES ME FORGET THAT WALKING MAKES ME WANT TO DIE.
Also it's really short so it's easy to listen to twice in the time it would take to listen to a another song once.
That's a lot of songs.
2. This is surprising considering it's not even one of my favorite 5sos songs, I just feel like it was on my playlist of current favorites for a while and kept coming up on shuffle a lot. It's a good song but still... surprising.
3. I would've expected this one to be above CM since I like it more, but alas. I listened to this a LOT. But apparently not more than Boss Bitch.
4. THIS SONG IS A BOPPPP. I haven't even seen tick... tick... BOOM! yet (I know, I know) but this song... has had me in a chokehold since its release. Andrew Garfield owns me. Andrew Garfield SINGING??? I didn't stand a chance.
5. I explained in one of my earlier catch-up rants that I went through a big BTR phase this year, and since this was their comeback song, it makes sense that it's in my top 5. I love it. Bops only.
ZERO. POINT. ONE. PERCENT??? JESUS.
I mean. I do go through many phases where I'm like "hmm it's time to play Bastille's entire discography" so that's probably why I ended up so high on their top listeners list. Their newer songs haven't been as long, or else I'm sure my "minutes listened" for them would've been longer as well.
I sincerely love Bastille and have since their debut — they've appeared on my top artists list before — and I don't think they've ever released a song I didn't like. Their music is just so comforting to me🤍 Also, their new album "Give Me the Future" is one of my favorite albums ever, so I listened to that a trillion times this year.
Every single year, my top artists are the same, just in a different order, I swear. And some will switch out and be replaced one year only to come back the next.
1. Already explained. Expected.
2. 5sos was pretty expected because I had their concert this year, so I listened to their newer music a LOT to get ready for that. I also played the CALM album a few times because it's another one of my all-time favorite albums.
3. Another expected artist, mostly because Taylor's discography is huge and so much of her music appears in almost all of my playlists. I've been listening to my playlist of all the songs I've liked throughout the years (it has over 1,000 songs) for like 1.5 hours and Taylor's music has already come up like 6 times. She honestly has me in a chokehold.
4. Ope ATL has moved down a LOT from the past years. They used to be my #1 for 3 years straight. They started to release some new music this year, so that helped them reach this spot, and I still love their old music of course. I feel like they don't hold as special of a place in my heart after allegations against Jack, but their music will always be special to me.
5. This is so embarrassing LMAOOO but once a Directioner, always a Directioner I guess. I'm going to single-handedly get them back together at this rate. It's astonishing how many times I can listen to the same songs over and over. It's been 7 years since they released any music and I'm still crying over it.
1. I actually only started listening to ATWWD in June, so I'm surprised that it's #1, but their episodes are much longer than the others, so it makes sense from a minutes-listened standpoint. I'm like 1/3 of the way through their episodes and I really like how respectful they are while still being humorous about themselves, not the victims.
2. This is another podcast I've mentioned before — it's the one I referenced a few times in my second rant on cancel culture. I've learned a lot about things/people I've never even heard of (HOW I hadn't known about the DC Snipers before has me very perplexed and appalled) and got to learn more stuff about things/people I did know about (like Henry Lee Lucas). It's very interesting.
3. Crime Junkie was my #1 pod last year and I feel like it has only slipped because I'm playing catch-up with the other two above it, so I have more episodes to listen to of those. I'm caught up with CJ so it's just a matter of listening to one episode a week as opposed to the many episodes of the others.
4. ... Interesting.... because I only listened to their episodes on EAR/ONS (the East Area Rapist/Original Nightstalker, aka the Golden State Killer, aka Joseph DeAngelo). But the episodes were over an hour long and there were 6 of them, so I guess that's why. It's definitely a podcast I'd like to listen to more since I like how they only present the facts so it's easy to digest and learn.
5. This is a new one I started listening to this year. I like the perspectives of the hosts, a prosecutor and former Sheriff, but it's sad from all the murder stories (obviously) so it's hard to binge.
Interesting!!
Okay, now here's my Wattpad Spotify results, which are a lot sadder.
We start off strong with the fact that I listened to a whopping 10 genres.
Disco is probably exclusively from Ceres's playlist because it's 🕺🏻🕺🏻
"Rebellious Amped Angst" is very interesting
Yeah, can you tell that I hardly go on here in comparison to my personal account?
LMAO. HUH
THIS LOOKS LIKE IT COULD BE 2009 SPOTIFY WRAPPED.
I think all of these songs are on my "Driving Through Beacon Hills With Dominic"
playlist, which I listened to a few times, so maybe that's where these come from? The bar is not very high, so.
Like I said, it's literally the same artists in a different order, except now there's Harry instead of 1D. Also none of these artists' songs were on my top 5 so that's interesting.
Very fair since I'm always listening to something different on that account, usually not a "current favorites" playlist over and over.
What were your results?? Let me know, I'd love to hear about them!!
