epilogue☂ patient notes
Thomas
Thomas died on the night of September 1st, aged 18- a few weeks after leaving the Glade.
His body was found washed ashore the following morning, the coroner identified the cause of death to be the impact on his body when he landed on the rocks below the cliff.
An anonymous source said they spotted him on the edge of the cliff, at around 11 pm. They said Thomas appeared to be relatively calm, and he kept on talking to himself.
The anonymous source claimed they did not make a move to try and stop Thomas as they didn't believe he was at risk of jumping.
Close friends of Thomas said that they met up with Thomas that day, where Thomas seemed distant. However they also did not think he was at risk of committing suicide.
The cause of this event is unknown, as Thomas did not have many contacts, let alone any close ones.
Although Thomas' neighbour, in the apartment next door, said they could hear Thomas talking to someone, someone called Newt. Despite the fact the neighbour never saw 'Newt' or even heard 'Newt'.
From this evidence we can conclude that Thomas was hallucinating his deceased boyfriend, for quite some time, leading up to this event.
It may also be suggested that Newt drove Thomas to commit suicide.
Thomas did not leave any kind of note or message, at the scene of his death or his apartment.
His funeral was held the week after his death, a small amount of friends attended.
It was made sure that Thomas and Newt were buried beside each other.
Newt
Newt died on September 1st, two years ago. At the age of 17.
He died of an infection in his organs which slowly shut them down, this being due to the amount of recreational drugs his system had taken.
The infection still has not been identified, and there is no known cure.
However hundreds of young drug-users have been diagnosed with it, and died in the past 2 years, some not only reporting organ-failure, but the infected have also begun to go mad in the weeks before their death.
As doctors still have not identified details about this infection, it is commonly known as 'the Flare' amongst hospitals and drug-using groups.
Worldwide, Doctor's are now working towards a cure, for the Flare. In hope to save a generation.
