Ishan's pov

We were sitting in the car with me and Vivek at the back and with Shubman driving and Sara in the passenger seat. Vivek had his hand placed on my thigh, as I sat there uncomfortably.
Let me elaborate on how I got into this situation. So since Sara had found out I was gay she had insisted for me to meet her bisexual friend Vivek and upon Shubman and I both insistently decling, Sara, the ever so stubborn had arranged a double date for us due to Vivek's constant nagging about wanting to go on a date with me.

Upon hearing I would have to go with 'Shubsara' on their date, I was instantly hesistant but hearing that the sole reason why Sara had insisted on a double date was because she wanted to fix Vivek and I together, I had to agree for Shubman. Shub had liked Sara since forever but had always been too shy to ask her out, and with this double date, he could finally have a chance, even if it was at my expense.

Me being in love with Shubman definitely did not help this situation at all but I thought maybe it wouldn't be too bad? Maybe Vivek could actually be a nice guy and I would fall for him and move on from my bestfriend? Wrong.
The second all of us had entered the car after Vivek and Sara had shown up at our hotel, Vivek had sat too close to me and then skipping to right now had his hand on my thigh. My thigh. We had met just a few minutes ago.

Shub from the rear view mirror saw the hand placement and I think he could definitely sense my discomfort. as his jaw clenched, he looked mad. I subtly shifted a little away from Vivek, making his hand leave my thigh as I removed my phone to distract myself. I saw a message from Shreyas as I opened his chat.

"How's the date?" he had asked.
"Ugh he's a total creep. At first glance wasn't too bad to look at, until we sat in the car and he placed his hand on. my. thigh."
"WTF? How dare he? Touching you after just a few minutes of meeting?!"
"Ikr! tell me about it."
"Do you want me to come?"
"What no, are you crazy? Why would you fifth wheel us?"
"A creep like him definitely isn't on a date with you despite what he thinks, it's not a date. Anyways atleast tell me where yall are going?"
"Some Italian restaurant I think. Celina or something."
"I think you mean Celini."
"Yeah yeah whatever."
"Call me right away if that idiot tries something else."
"okieee, just don't do anything stupid."

After that I kept my phone back inside to try and join in their conversation and not seem so rude. After about 5 more minutes of me trying to act like I was listening to what Vivek was blabbering, we reached to the restaurant. As we got off and started walking inside, Shubman suddenly pulled me back and asked Sara and Vivek to find a table and that we'd join them shortly.
"Are you comfortable? If not we can leave."
"Nah it's fine, I'm okay."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes just focus on your date with Sara."

Shub gave me a skeptical look and I just gave him a nod with a smile trying to convince him that I'd be fine. He still looked hesistant but I just pulled him towards the table Sara and Vivek had seated on. They had sat across each other and I sat next to Vivek while Shub situated himself in front of me next to Sara.
I will start fresh, I thought. I won't think about what happened in the car and try to give him another chance. We started looking at the menu in silence and Sara suddenly muttered that she wanted pasta and Vivek agreed that so did he.

"I wanna eat pizza."
"Will you be able to eat a whole pizza alone?" asked Vivek.
"Obviously not."
"Then who will share with you? Because Sara and I are eating pasta."
Ugh what an asshole I mean I knew I said I'd give him a second chance but if my date can't even sacrifice his pasta for me like does he even deserve another chance?

"I will-" Shub started speaking and I turned to look at him until someone interrupted him.
"I will share the pizza with Ishu."
I turned around to see Shreyas standing there with a smile on his face.
"What are you doing here?" I asked looking at him disappointedly, whilst shaking my head.
"Surprise! I was bored so I thought what better way to entertain myself than crashing a date?"
"Literally anything else." Shub squinting his eyes at Shrey.

"Uhh I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Vivek said to me. I was about to deny it but before I could speak Shub said,  "He doesn't."
Vivek just gave me a weird look while glancing at Shrey as he situated himself next to me as the table was big enough, and he pulled my chair closer to his. All the while I had kept looking at him with the same 'I'm so done with you' look on my face. He just cheekily smiled at me while coming closer and whispering,
"Be grateful I didn't sit between you and that ass."
"Kya karu mai tera? I told you not to do anything stupid." I just shook my head at him, but smiled a little knowing that he had infact saved me from this hell, while he just shrugged.

I turned my head forward only to notice Shub glaring at Shrey, and then turned towards me with an unreadable expression. Oh-uh Sara and Vivek were also staring at us. Shubman was mad because we ruined their date. I just looked at my plate as the waiter approached and took our orders. We awkwardly clicked some pictures together until the food arrived. Overall it was actually very fun after they had ignored the 'Shrey crashing our date part' and just treated it as a group hangout. Shrey had constantly been whispering random insults towards Vivek and his silly actions, in my ear making me laugh from time to time.

Shub had been uncharacteristically quiet throughout the date, but I couldn't observe and pay much attention as to why that was, as Shrey kept constantly doing silly things or just speaking to me and making me laugh. I concluded it was probably because of the fact that Shrey showing up had probably ruined their date... but Sara didn't mind and we had moved on from that right? Well but it had turned from a double date to a group dinner so I couldn't blame him for thinking so.

Anyways I didn't really think about it much, Shrey knew I was in love with Shub and had already told me to decline the date but had failed to convince me after I had stubbornly made up my mind. I didn't want to say it out loud but Shrey showing up here had really helped me ease up, even if I pretended to be a little annoyed at him for crashing the date despite me specifically telling him not to.

After dinner, which Shrey insisted to pay for, while Shub was fighting with him for it.
"I crashed your guys' date I should atleast pay for the dinner."
"No it's fine I can pay for it."
While they fought over the bill I looked at Sara and Vivek, huh Vivek wasn't even offering to pay? Was he seriously expecting me to date him after he acted like that? And I wasn't prejudiced so I was kinda expecting Sara to offer as well. I then started to offer.
"Let me-"
"You shut up." "You shut up."
Shub and Shrey both said at the same time. Okayyy wow, they're mean.
After fighting and Shub winning and paying for the bill we left.

Shrey and Shub both brought their cars and stood in front of the three of us. While Sara and Vivek got in Shub's car Shrey looked at me and said,
"You're coming with me right?"
Shub spoke up from his car when he saw me not getting inside his car and just standing outside,
"What are you waiting for? Get inside."
"Uhh I'll just go with Shrey since he's alone in his car."
I didn't look back to see Shub's reaction and with that I sat with Shrey and we left the restaurant.
"No matter what I said earlier, I wanted to thank you for showing up. You really turned this dreadful date to a fun one."
"Aww I knew you couldn't be annoyed at me for too long."
I just rolled my eyes.

When we reached the hotel I walked inside my room after bidding farewell to Shrey. As soon as I walked in I was pinned to the wall.
"You scared me." I said being startled.
"Why did Shreyas show up?"
That somehow annoyed me and I felt an urge to protect Shrey as I knew he had done it only for me.
"He already gave the reason, I believe."
"Why did you call him?"
"I didn't call him Shubman."
"Oh really then how did he know where we were?"
"I told him because he asked."

After a long pause he said,
"Was he the one you were chatting with in the car, while smiling so much?"
"Yeah."
"Why did he even want to know where we were and crash our date?"
"Because he was worried about me Shubman!" I said now losing all my patience.
"Why would he be worried about you when I was there with you! You weren't on a blind date alone."
"I didn't even want to be on the date Shubman, the guy was a creep."
"Then why did you say yes to it? I also asked you before we sat down if you wanted to leave, why didn't you tell me then?"

"Because I didn't want to ruin your date! I know how much you like her, I wanted to help you out." I had yelled.
"I didn't want to stay on the stupid date if it made you uncomfortable, you idiot. I didn't even want to go."
"But you like Sara."
"And why do you think that?"
"You told me you had a crush on her."
"And when was that?"
"A couple months ago...why?"
"Well I was stupid a couple months ago, I didn't know any better."
"huh?"

He brought his face closer to me at that and said, "I like you, you Idiot."
"huh?"
"Will you say anything other than 'huh'?"
"huh?"
Shubman just shook his head with a smile on his face, "You're an idiot."
"I'm not. You're an idiot."
"Can I kiss you? and please don't say huh again."
"hu-...yes"

As he leaned in to kiss me, I said,
"Wait, were you jealous of Shrey?"
But instead of giving me an answer he just kissed me. I took that as a yes and kissed him back with equal passion.

Finally a oneshot!!! This book has more two and three shots instead of oneshots.
Anyways Ish and Shrey are two absolute cuties and I love them.

I have a lot of other ideas, but since I don't have enough time to write, I just wrote this simple oneshot. I will execute the ideas later and the stories will get better, I promise.

Also, our exam today sucked. The teacher has a personal grudge against us I swear the paper was so tough 😭
