Showki is one of my fav monsta x ships so I'm excited to share these stories with you. X3 I also wrote this kind of fast so sorry if it's not the best.

Shownu had noticed something lately.

As the leader it wasn't just his job to steer Monsta X in the right direction for the sake of their music, but he also had to make sure they were alright in their lives. That they were healthy and happy, this gaining him, at least among fans and the younger members, the title of a kind of surrogate father for the group. And as a strong leader he had to be as observant as he was able to be towards the other members. And lately he was noticing one particular member was acting strange...

It was Kihyun. The small yet savage, usually happy, and somewhat energetic male had be everything but himself lately. He didn't smile and laugh as much anymore and a lot of the time he would grow quiet with no explanation. Not that he wouldn't nag the others about cleaning the dorm and other things, but when it came to free-time or the members just hanging out together he hardly spoke and was always acting distant, simply answering questions when he needed, and not opening up to talk deeply about anything with the others. In dance practice he seemed distracted, and he'd obviously lost weight from not eating as much as he normally did, which as his before weight was already healthy, was concerning.

He even seemed to lose passion when he sang, which worried Shownu the most considering how much he knew the younger loved it. He couldn't help but wonder how that shining star who gave such an emotional performance back in their No Mercy days could no longer seem to find a way to express such energy anymore. He knew he had the ability, so why wasn't he using it?

Shownu was determined to find out the root of Kihyun dejectedness, and hopefully find a solution for it as well.

They'd just finished with dance practice at which Kihyun made many silly mistakes because he once again seemed to be caught in his own thoughts more than the music. Shownu had been glancing over at him a lot throughout the practice, but he'd hardly noticed and when he did Kihyun just gave him a strange look before quickly looking down.

They were currently sitting against the mirrored walls and drinking some water to cool off. Kihyun had hardly drank much far past the cap, which worried Shownu, but he decided not to say anything in front of the others. The others stood up to leave the room so Kihyun and Shownu began to do the same, grabbing their things on the way up. Kihyun was in front of the leader and started walking toward the exit before Shownu grabbed him by the arm.

Kihyun jumped a bit widening his eyes as he faced him before pulling his arm away quickly.

Shownu stared at him raising his eyebrows in confusion and slight shock.

Kihyun just looked down again. "Sorry... you just surprised me."

Shownu nodded simply before picking something off the floor and holding it out to him. "Don't forget your jacket."

Kihyun slowly took the item of clothes muttering a small, "thanks..." before watching the older walk around him and leave behind the others.

"Jooheon, I asked you to clean the bathroom yesterday!" Kihyun scolded the younger member. "I can't do everything around here could you please just do things when I ask you too." He let out a heavy sigh. Although he was nagging them like usual he wasn't as intense about it as usual. In fact he looked fairly tired, like he didn't have the energy to.

Jooheon seems to notice this so he not very happily complied. "Alright alright Hyung... I'll do it now." He started heading down the hall where Minhyuk ran after him wrapping himself around his shoulders.

"Don't worry Joohoney~ I'll help you." Said male chirped, not releasing his almost deathly grip.

"I'm gonna play some computer games." Changkyun stated in his deep voice heading down the hall after them.

"Don't stay up to late." Kihyun advised.

"Yeah yeah." The Maknae responded in English.

"Hyungwon, how many times have I told you not to fall asleep on the couch? You're gonna end up there all night again, that's what you have a bedroom for." Kihyun went on with his ranting despite his low energy mood.

"Mm." The taller muttered a drowsy answer. "Okay Eomma..." he didn't move however and instead just shifted to a more comfortable position, seeming to make no sign of getting up.

"I'm not your damn eomma!" Kihyun snapped "Now go to your room." He sighed heavily again when he was simply answered with soft quiet snores.

"Don't worry Kihyun-ah, I'll make sure he goes to bed." Wonho stated with a smile as he moved over to the sleeping figure on the couch, and pulled him up into a sitting position before picking him up in his arms, seeming to have no trouble holding the thin male.

Hyungwon groaned a bit in resilience, but mostly just stayed asleep and let Wonho carry him to his own room, instead of the one Hyungwon shared with Shownu and Jooheon, which wasn't surprising to anyone considering that often happened a lot.

Kihyun fell back against the wall with a frown, his mind seeming to take over again.

"Kihyun." Shownu got his attention tossing him a jacket and face mask.

Kihyun caught them just in time. "What is this for?" He asked before noticing Shownu was also wearing a jacket and his shoes.

"C'mon we're going out. You look hungry and too tired to cook." Shownu stated shuffling towards the door.

"I'm fine Hyung." Kihyun shook his head trying to seem assuring.

"Just come on it's my treat." The leader pushed, opening the door and gesturing for him to leave.

After determining he wasn't gonna take no for an answer Kihyun gave in and went with him.

Shownu was happy he'd gotten Kihyun to eat a lot at the restaurant they went to, but the younger was still quiet and distant. Shownu hadn't gotten the courage up to ask him anything so he convinced him to take a small walk through the park. He looked over to the smaller who was walking directly beside him. His breaths made slight clouds in the somewhat cool air as he took them, since they decided not to wear their masks after the meal as it had grown dark and hardly anyone was out anymore.

He needed to say something, even if it wasn't what he wanted he needed to start somewhere.

"Do you think there's something going on between Wonho and Hyungwon?" The older suddenly asked.

Kihyun seemed somewhat surprised by the question. "Uh... I don't know... what do you mean by that?"

"Well they have always seemed close and they've been sleeping together almost every night despite Hyungwon not sharing a room with him. I'm just wondering if they are... in some sort of relationship, you know more then friends." Shownu explained.

"I didn't think you noticed stuff like that." Kihyun had a hint of a quick smile but it quickly fell again.

"They're not being very discreet." The leader defended.

"Then maybe." Kihyun finally answered. "If they were... in a relationship that is, would that be okay with you?"

"Yeah I guess... I mean they'd have to hide it from the public obviously or it could harm the group, but as long as they're careful I don't see a problem with it." Shownu answered. "What matters in the end is that they're happy."

Kihyun nodded slowly as if processing the answer. "I agree."

"What about you?" Shownu then asked after a few seconds of silence.

"What do you mean?" Kihyun questioned back.

"Are you happy?" He specified.

"Oh." The shorter stated. "Yes, why wouldn't I be?"

Shownu suddenly stopped, causing the other male too as well, facing him in slight confusion. "Are you lying?"

"What?" Kihyun asked seeming genuinely confused, but also slightly nervous like he'd just been caught.

"I can tell something's wrong you've been acting very weird lately. Distracted and quiet." Shownu pointed out.

"Nothing's wrong..." Kihyun trailed off looking down and scanning the ground between them. "I've just been tired."

"Yeah I've noticed, and you haven't been eating or drinking much. And you keep messing up in practice." The leader continued. "But that was all after you started acting weird. I know I'm not the most emotional member, but you can tell me anything... you know that right?"

"I just... I realized something kind of recently and I've been trying to work it out in my head. Sorry... I'll try to start focusing more in dance practice..." he turned, starting to walk away from him, and seemingly the conversation.

Shownu stopped him, facing him towards himself again. "That's not the problem..." he let him go staring directly at him. "What did you realize? Maybe I can help talk you through it."

Kihyun broke their eye contact looking away again. "Nothing I just..." he paused for a while before letting out a breath he seemed to be holding, it forming in the space between them. "I realized I have feelings for someone, someone I shouldn't have feelings for..."

Shownu was slightly surprised, but tried to remain supportive. "Okay, that's hard, but what makes you think you shouldn't have feelings for them? Who is it?"

"Well... it's a guy." Kihyun stated.

"Okay, so? We both just agreed that Hyungwon and Wonho wouldn't be wrong, why would you be different? Besides gender shouldn't matter." Shownu explained.

"Well I know but... he's also a friend. And I don't think he feels the same, and I don't wanna loose what we have now if he ends up knowing..." the shorter shifted uncomfortably, his minor distress seeming to get worse.

Shownu was confused. He had no idea who he could be talking about. He didn't have many friends outside the members other then a few other idols, unless he was talking about a friend he had before debut. "Hm, I understand, but if they're really a good friend they won't care even if it's slightly awkward at first, or they may even feel the same."

"I definitely don't think they will." Kihyun shook his head.

"Maybe it'd be easier if you told me who it was." The taller suggested. "You can trust me, I won't tell anyone if you don't ask me too, and no matter who it is I won't judge you."

"I- I just can't tell you... I'm sorry." Kihyun's voice lowered to just above a whisper and shook a bit.

Shownu wanted to respect him he really did, but his concern was getting much too strong at this point. "Kihyun, I cant force you to tell me anything, but this seems to be really bothering you, so please tell me. Please, I'm worried."

Kihyun sniffled before finally looking back up at him, tears streaming down his cheeks. "It's you." He practically choked. "I'm in love with you okay? I tried to deny it for so long, or wait for it to go away, but it didn't it just got worse. I'm sorry, I know this complicates things, but I can't help it. You're just so kind and caring, and I can't help but feel so... good when I'm with you, but lately I've been wanting more and it's killing me. I've never felt this strongly about someone before, but you're so handsome no matter what, and your soft smile drives me crazy, especially when it's directed towards me. I just... I love you Sh- Hyunwoo." His eyes were red from the tears and he seemed to choke back a few sobs after confessing so wholeheartedly.

Shownu seemed shocked for a moment, not sure if it was more over the confession or the fact the other male was actually crying. He stood there staring at the tearful boy for a few seconds before reaching out and taking his face between his hands, wiping the streaks away with his thumbs. He then leaned down, capturing Kihyun's lips in his own for a moment before pulling away and meeting his eyes again. "Don't cry Kihyun... it's okay."

Kihyun's tears stopped and he took a shaky breath, staring up at his leader in somewhat disbelief, his lips remaining parted. His eyes fell to his lips when he noticed Shownu leaning in again. He let his eyes slowly close a stray tear rolling down his cheek.

Shownu gently took Kihyun's bottom lip between his own, letting it slowly slide between them before applying pressure once more and pushing his lips into Kihyun's warm mouth, feeling the slight presence of teeth and wet. He pulled away, turning his head to the opposite angle, feeling their noses brush together slightly before giving him another deep kiss. He then pulled away, Kihyun appearing somewhat breathless.

"It's okay." Shownu stated again. "I love you too Kihyun." He let a smile grace his lips.

Kihyun felt his heart clench at the sight of it and the sound of the words. He then nodded seeming lost for what to say himself.

"Let's go home." Shownu stated. "You look tired."

"I am..." Kihyun let out a small laugh

"Then let me sleep in your room tonight?" Shownu requested. "To make sure you sleep properly."

Kihyun felt his cheeks flush over, but nodded. "Okay... just as long as we aren't too obvious."

Shownu laughed a little at that before grabbing Kihyun's hand as they walked through the park and pack home in a comfortable silence.
