Koudou Ambitious was playing as you flipped through a magazine that had articles and reviews on B-Pro's performance at the festival that happened not too long ago. Their performance had earned them many new fans and even respect from some of the other artists participating. The guys were happy, of course, but it was rather short lived.

They thought their fans would expect more from them as they rose so they naturally wanted to improve, leading to more practice sessions. During those sessions, the guys didn't go easy on themselves and didn't hesitate to point out the smallest of mistakes. You had ordered them to take it easy multiple times, but always insisted on continuing. Eventually, you gave up and just let them do as they pleased.

A few pages past the festival articles, there was another article talking about a serious affair. You were just about to start reading when Yashamaru suddenly plucked the magazine out of your hands with a smile. Cheerfully, he said, "Let me borrow that for a sec, _____."

He turned away before you could grab the magazine back and started talking to the guys. What he did didn't really bother you since you two had decided, for no reason whatsoever, to try and annoy the other as much as possible. You had gotten used to his antics pretty quickly, remembering them so you could counter them more easily.

You decided to pay attention right when Yashamaru was in the middle of scolding them like a doting mother. "You can practice hard," he said, "But you have to take breaks too."

Nodding, you added, "He's right. It wouldn't be good if one of you suddenly collapsed from exhaustion at an interview or something."

"See? Even your composer is worrying about you guys," Yashamaru said placing his hands on his hips.

"You guys should take a break right now," you said, heading for the door. "I'll go get some refreshments so you guys just sit back for a bit."

Calls of thanks followed you out as you exited the stuffy practice room and made your way to the nearby break room where a vending machine waited.

As you collected a few cans of water and sodas, you began to think about what Yashamaru had said. He had called you B-Pro's composer yet you hadn't written one song since you had been hired. You had been so caught up hanging around them and having fun that you had forgotten why you were hired in the first place.

I have to start thinking of a song before "then," you thought as you left the empty break room and started making you way back. You were still thinking about your job as a composer when you heard someone yell, "Ryu(-chan), wait!"

Quickly, you looked up just in time to see Ryuji run by with a strained look on his face. What he was running from, you didn't know, but the thought quickly escaped your mind as you heard a yell and loud thumps at the nearby flight of stairs followed by another desperate cry of "Ryu(-chan)!"

Yuta followed down the same way Ryuji had come from seconds later, who probably was the one calling after him. With a slight moment's hesitation, you quickly followed, finding yourself at the top of the stairs.

Below, the first few steps were stained with small puddles of red liquid that gradually grew as they neared the bottom. At the bottom was Yuta, kneeling besides the lifeless body of Ryuji who had a growing pool of more red liquid around his head.

As Tomohisa appeared by your side at the top of the stairs, you dropped the cans and covered your mouth in attempt to stop yourself from screaming out in horror.

You were thankful when Yuta insisted that you accompany Ryuji and Tomohisa to the hospital in the small ambulance. Even though he kept his composure, Yuta's usual smile had been replaced with a look of worry. It was the last thing you saw before the ambulance doors were shut and were driven off quickly.

At the hospital, Ryuji was immediately wheeled away to a room where the doctor had prohibited you and Tomohisa from entering. He assured the two of you that Ryuji would be fine and, surprisingly, Tomohisa calmly backed off. You took a seat on a bench that sat just outside the room, folding your trembling hands on your lap.

Tomohisa noticed and kneeled down on one knee in front of you, placing his warm hands on yours. "_____," he said, causing you to look up at his eyes at the mention of your name. "I promise Ryuji will be alright. I trust the doctors at this hospital."

The last part was unnecessary as you were already comforted with his assurance. You had learned the past few weeks that it was easy to trust Tomohisa and his words. It wasn't a wonder that he got along with everyone. Well, almost everyone, you corrected yourself as you remembered a certain member of MooNs.

The next few hours had been spent not only in silence but also comfortably in Tomohisa's arms until you eventually dosed off to sleep. Long after the sun had set, he murmured your name, causing you to wake up.

"The doctor said we can go in now," he said as he helped you up from the bench. "But I think we should go in with the others."

"The others?" you asked softly, still a little groggy from your nap.

Nodding, Tomohisa said, "They arrived not too long ago with Sumisora the president."

The two of you found the others waiting with Tsubasa and Atsushi, unsurprised that they were all tensed. Atsushi was the first to notice you two and quickly stood up, everyone else following. "Tomohisa. _____," he said. "How's Ryuji?"

"He regained consciousness not too long ago," Tomohisa said and quickly added when some of the others still looked unconvinced, "He'll live, but since he struck his head, they'll be keeping him in the hospital for a while."

With that, the two of you led everyone down the halls of the hospital with Tomohisa politely greeting the doctors and nurses you passed by.

Leaning in slightly towards you, Mikado said softly, "The prince's runs this hospital, if you're wondering."

So that must be why Tomo trusts the doctors so much, you thought as the others explained further for Tsubasa.

As your group neared Ryuji's room, a nurse stopped Hikaru and asked, "Oh, Osari(-kun), how are you feeling?"

He was a bit taken back by the sudden question, but quickly replied, "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine!"

Odd. You didn't hear anything about Hikaru getting hurt or anything so you asked, "Did you get injured or are you not feeling well?"

"During the commercial shoot the other day (episode 3), he got ahead of himself and fell into the river, remember? He caught a cold after that," Nome said for Hikaru who was hesitant to answer.

You did, in fact, remember what had happened by the river at the shooting site, but another memory, one from the van, came to mind. You shook your head and tried to discard the embarrassing memory.

But back to the present, you found it quite odd that Hikaru would go all the way to a hospital for a simple cold instead of a clinic or something. Hikaru and Nome simply exchanged private glances.

You finally got to Ryuji's room again, but as you reached for the door, you noticed your hand was trembling again, imagining what was on the other side of the door even though you were assured countless times that things were alright. Tomohisa took your hand and gave you a warm smile.

Your hand still in his, he slowly opened the door and went in with the others following behind. Ryuji turned to look at you as you and Tomohisa stood near his hospital bed. You noticed Ryuji's shoulders tense up as he got his eyes on you two.

"Who are you?" he asked after you slipped your hand out of Tomohisa's.

Everyone seemed stunned at his seemingly genuine question, but Hikari recovered quickly. "Who?" he asked uneasily. "Ryu(-chin), there you go again."

Puffing up his cheeks like a child, Ryuji said, "Don't talk to me like you know me, mister."

"Hitting his head made him lose his memories past the age of seven," Tomohisa said while Hikaru seemed shocked to be called "mister."

Tomohisa continued, "My father said it was temporary, but there's no clear way to restore his memories...right now, we have to accept these circumstances."

The others started talking amongst themselves when Ryuji spoke up. "Kitakado(-san), I'm tired now," he said, almost close to a whine. "I want to sleep."

You remembered he still had the memories of a seven year old and decided to bite. "Here," you said as you stepped closer to his bed. "I'll tuck you into bed--"

"No, I want Kitakado(-san)," Ryuji said. "I don't want a stranger to touch me."

Putting a hand on your shoulder, Tomohisa looked at you apologetically and made his way to Ryuji's side. They exchanged a few words while Tomohisa tucked him before he held something up. It looked like a sucker from where you were.

Everyone decided to leave early and headed out. Tomohisa agreed to go with them since he thought it'd be best if he didn't try to rush earning Ryuji's trust again. You followed everyone out once Ryuji fell asleep, but looked back to see him watching you closely.

His gaze wasn't exactly friendly, being closer to a glare actually. It hurt, but it would have to do for the time being.

I'll try getting part 2 done and posted by tomorrow evening XP
