"I see you brought some friends along for our little date."

I gasped in horror. My sisters looked at me suspiciously, and I approached the boy, about to skewer him with my dagger.

"Hector, I don't know how many times I have to say it! I will not date you!"

His face went from cocky to terrified in a split second when I placed the tip of my dagger to his throat.

"Leave. Me. Alone."

He whimpered and nodded, turning into a snow bird and flying away towards his camp.

I sighed and sat in the snow. My sister, Phoebe, sat next to me and examined my face.

"How long has he been stalking you?"

"Three months now. He doesn't let up. His will is iron."

Phoebe laughed. "Sounds like most of the pursuers we get. But he had the NERVE to say that you'd brought us on a date! Why, I never."

I laughed. As my sisters set up camp, I cleaned the kill and put it on a spit, roasting it over the fire. We sat and drank and Laughed, pulling off our own pieces and having a good time. Then Lucinda shouted for me.

"Cassandra! You'd better come see this."

I approached her, and saw the massacre going on below.

Demigods were slashing and shooting as wave after wave of monsters attacked them. I watched in shock, then whistled.

My sisters came up and gasped at the scene. Phoebe came up and said to me.

"I assume we're going to go help?" She was suppressing a grin.

"You know it."

I drew my bow and turned to my fellow Hunters. Nocking an arrow and aiming for the sky, I shouted.

"For Lady Artemis!"

The cry went up, and we descended into battle.
