I turn to see Emma and Adrian walk towards me. I smile as i see Emma's smile. She hugs me super tight. 

" You were absolutely amazing." She says. I smile at her and put my bag on my shoulder. 

"Thanks..." I look at Adrian looks away from me. I wait for him to say something. He looks down at the ground. 

I sigh. "I have never seen you at my games before." 

"Emma made me come." I smile and hug him. He freezes. 

"What are you doing?" I let him go and pat his shoulder. 

"I'm glad you came.. Its nice to see you out." He starts to get flustered. 

"Don't expect me to come to all of them. I fell like i'm losing brain cells just being here." Kai walks over and puts his hand on my shoulder. Kai smiles at Emma and then looks at Adrian. His face changes immediately in a way i haven't see before. 

"Why are you here?" Kai spats. I put my hand on his chest to keep him away. 

"Yo chill.. He is like family . He came to see me play." Kai snaps his head at me. I flinch at how suddenly he directed his attention at  me.

"You know him?!" I chuckle nervously. 

"Yeah.. So what?" Adrian's eyes are like deer in head light. Emma is just looking at all of us trying to figure out what the heck is going on. 

Kai scratches his head and chuckles nervously. 

"Nothing..." I had no idea that the knew each other. He brushes past Adrian. Adrian looks at me and Emma nervously. 

Emma crosses her hands. "Since when did you know Kai Meranos?" 

"I don't know him." He says flatly. I laugh. Who is he trying to kid. He obviously knows him. 

"Right." I say sarcastically. We wait for him to answer our question. He looks at us with this smug look on his face. What are you hiding?

"Don't we have to leave?" He says. Emma sighs. 

"Fine. Only because dad will kill us." She starts to walk away but abruptly stops. She turns around and kisses me in front of Adrian. 

I freeze in shock. 

What... is.... happening? She pulls me away from her to see my face. 

"I like you." She says softly. I chuckle when i her words. Adrian is awkwardly standing as Emma has her arms around me. 

"Emma..." i say in shock. I had no idea she felt that way. I hold her hands. I can tell she is so nervous. "I'll call you tonight... We will discuss this more okay?" She smiles but i can tell she is freaking out. 

I can't make a decision this quickly. If this was another girl would have  have said yes or no on the spot, but this is Emma. 

I need to handle her with care. They both leave and I go up to Kai. I tap on his shoulder. He turns and wraps his arm around me. 

"Yo." 

"Hey man.. How do you know Adrian?" His face hardens. Something happened. "I asked him but he said he didn't know you." 

"If thats what he said than thats what it is." What type of answer is that. He starts to walk away. I grab is arm. 

"What the fuck man... Be straight with me.."

"I don't know him that well.." 

"Then why did you have so much anger in your voice when you talk to him?" He walks up to me I get taken back by his aggressive stance he is showing off. 

"That guy is a loser, R.J. Why do you care?" Why is he acting like this. 

"He is my child hood friend." I say hesistantly. His eyebrows soften. A smirk shows on his face. Why is he smiling?

"My bad man. I apologize. If he rolls with you than its cool. I'll see you tomorrow." I watch him leave the feel.

What the fuck?

I get home with a lot on my mind. From Emma confessing to me and the weird interaction with Adrian and Kai.

Kai my be my friend, but i know how he is... 

If he is bullying him... 

I clench my hands on the wheel. 

He must be.. There is no other scenario that I can think of.  

Why didn't he tell me?

I swear our friendship is not what i thought it was. 

I get home and find my mother feeding Bonnie and Cesar. "Mijo! How did your game go?"

"We won 4-3. We won in overtime." I sit next to Bonnie. 

"Thats great! I'm sure you did amazing!" She says excitingly. I eat my food quietly.

"You don't look happy." Cesar says to me as he sips his drink. 

"I have a lot on my mind." I stand and head to my room. I throw my stuff on the floor and fall on my bed. 

I slowly close my eyes.

"R.J!" Yells  5 year old Adrian who is across the yard.  I run to Adrian's side to find him playing with Peanut their Dalmatian. I freak out because i thought Peanut was hurting him. Adrian stops playing with Peanut. 

I start crying.

"I am okay!" He says wiping my tears. 

"R.J! Adrian!" Emma yells. Adrian grabs my hand and we both run inside. 

 I wake up staring at the ceiling. Where did that Adrian go? I look at my phone and see its 9pm. Shit how long have i been sleeping?

I call Emma. Im still not sure what i want to say to her. I have so many questions. 

"Hey R.J." She says softly.
