ok so I was checking on a comment and it took me directly to the bottom of the page where the "reccomended" stories are and I saw something very briefly blink in and out of existence before another book took its place (my internet is slow)

so I continued going back and forth trying to snag a screenshot before it loaded properly and 

this is what should have been there

given the fact that I don't ever interact with "tag yourselfs" or anything even remotely like it, it can be assumed that the two selections of """recommended"""" things are 1.) promoted via monetary compensation to get attention, or 2.) randomized/prioritized for some reason

like ??? why am I being told to interact with only the stuff Wattpad wants me to interact with?? I think we already knew that the recommendations system was super broken because all it ever told anyone to read was raunchy romantic fiction/fanfic but now it's just sort of scummy to me that something based on my personal interests was usurped by paid-to-be-there content and something that I have no interest in and WP's pushing for some unknown reason. I mean I probably wouldn't have read the Undertale book in the first place because that's not my thing, but a lot of the people I follow/follow me read/write Undertale fic and I sometimes click on the stories they're reading to see the context of comments they're leaving. It would have at least meant that MY recommendations were based on MY activity but instead it's "hey these dudes are paying us read their things" and "you have zero interest in this but here"
