Emma's POV~

Monday morning, after Morgan left, Jewel went to work, while Joey and I went to the office. I was going to try to work today. Unfortunately, I still currently had a life and bills to pay.

Sitting at my desk, I noticed a little note and a little box. Obviously, written by Spencer.

Hey, even though we are no longer together, I still want you to have this. I will always love you. Either as my girlfriend or my best friend. You still mean the world to me, and I still care.

After reading this, I want you to look in the box. Don't thank me. I won't be in Nashville for almost a week. I decided to go to Indiana for a little while and see my parents.

Lastly, I'm sorry about my fans. I'm sorry that they pushed you to the limits. I'm sorry that you felt that you had to end things with me. You were my first real love, and you will always be my love.

Open the box, and I want you to keep it. I had intentions, and I was going to give it to you on that night, but you had walked away before I had chance.

I gently wiped my tears and sat the note down. Then I picked up the little black velvet box.

Slowly, I opened it. There was a little ring inside. Just a little silver ring, it almost looked like a knot being tied.

"Wow." I muttered.

"What's that?" Caleb asked, standing over my shoulder.

"I think it's a promise ring." I whispered, "I can't believe it."

I sighed and gently took the ring out. I smiled at it, then frowned.

He wanted to stay with me, he wanted to marry me and I left him. He lost the one he loved the most. I ruined his plans.

I slouched in my chair. Eventually, after staring at the ring, I slid onto my finger of my left hand.

Maybe I could promise my life in a different. As much as it hurts to say, as friends.

"He left you a promise ring?" Joey asked.

I nodded, "I think so. He said he was going to give it to me that night before I broke it off."

"Why did you break it off?" Chad asked.

"Everything just became too much." I shrugged, "Y'know? After seeing the lightbulbs about y'alls relationships, I thought they would support ours."

"Which isn't fair. You know that, Em? You and Spencer had a good relationship." Joey stated.

"Let's just drop it for now." I muttered.

The three nodded before getting to work. I began to neatly fold the letter, and put in the corner of my desk, laying the box on top. I sighed as my gaze caught the photo frame.

Two pictures. Two people. One couple.

First one was Spencer and I at the beach. Then the second was of Spencer and I after my birthday. The photo my stepmom took, the one where Spencer had decided to kiss my cheek instead of smiling.

I wanted to smile, because they were both at such happy times, but I frowned. I reached my hand up, and gently laid the frame face down.

I sat on my couch at home, watchig movies on Netflix. Avery let out a bark as he climbed onto the couch with me.

I gently petted his head before sliding my hand down his neck. I did that, repetitive motions. Until I began to scratch behind his ear.

I giggled as Avery let out a low growl. He outstretched his head, letting me have more room.

"You like that, huh, buddy?" I smiled.

He gave another low growl.

However, his head perked up as Joey & Jewel walked in. They were permanent guests until Morgan returned from Missouri.

"Hey! We brought Taco Bell." Jewel smiled.

I nodded, "Okay."

Avery got up, and followed Jewel to the kitchen. Joey came around and flopped onto the couch, slinging his arm against the back of it.

"So, whatcha watching?" He asked.

I shrugged, "Don't even know anymore. I was watching Supernatural."

"Do you know where Spencer is? Since he wasn't at the office." He asked.

I looked up to the clock. I sighed, "Indiana by now."

"Oh." He mumbled.

Whoof! Another chapter. Shorter than normal, but it's still something. Next chapter, we will see Spencer. 😉
