Three
Spencer's POV~
I walked through the door of my parents house. Not even being home for two seconds, and Mac was already greeting me.
I could tell, he kept looking behind me and staring at the door. He was waiting for Emma walk through.
I wonder if she got the ring. Maybe. I wonder if she liked it.
"Spencer, honey." Mom smiled.
I attempted to smile, "Hey mom."
"Where's Emma? She's normally with you." She asked.
"We broke up," I answered, "She was being harrassed by the fans and she couldn't handle it."
"Well, are you guys still friends?" She questioned.
"I don't really know. I don't want to be friends though. I just miss her, I guess." I shrugged.
Mom came over and hugged me. She let out a breath, "She'll realize what she's missing."
~*~*~
That night I laid in bed of my old room. I kept looking to my phone, hoping that Emma would next me.
I missed her like crazy. I just wished that she was here, in my arms.
I sighed and picked up my phone. I quickly scrolled to her contact.
In my phone she was still listed as My Gorgeous😍.
Within in a heartbeat, my thumb had hit the edit button. Like that, I changed it. Now, she was listed as Best Friend🍩.
Sadly, I texted her one last time. My heart still wanted her love. All of me wanted her love again.
I miss you, baby. I love you.
Welp. I hope my fans are happy. 'Cause I'm not.
~*~*~
I sat at the table, my head in my left hand as I picked at my breakfast. I wasn't hungry, but I was. If that made any sense.
"Not that I don't like you being here, but you'd visit us?" Dad asked.
I shrugged, "I missed you guys and I needed out of my apartment."
"This really has you down. Did you love her?" He asked.
"Yeah." I smiled, "I still love her. She was my world. I wanted to propose, but I got her a promise ring instead."
Mom placed her hand on my forearm. She smiled at me, "Give it time. She'll either come back or you'll find someone else."
I shrugged, "I really want her back. I don't like the idea of her dating someone else. I just wanted to marry her and raise a family with her. Now, it's all gone."
"When you love something, let it go. If they come back, they loved you back." Mom stated.
I picked up my phone as it vibrated. A message, from Emma.
I miss you too, but stop. We need our time apart to get over each other.
I sighed, "I don't think she'll get back with me."
"Honey, let God have control. He will lead you to the perfect woman for you. Just be patient. Let him do his work." Mom reassured.
I nodded, "Thanks mom."
She smiled and stood up, kissing ny forehead. She took my plate, along with hers and dad's, going to the kitchen.
Dad laughed, "She's a smart woman, you know?"
"Yeah." I muttered.
"Son, I know you miss her. It will get better. Get her off your mind. Go out to town. Go to the park." He suggested.
I sighed, but nodded, "Yeah. Sure thing."
~*~*~
It was a little chilly, but I was at the neighborhood park. Like dad said, I went to the park. I did what I do best, other than music, shooting hoops.
I dribbled the orange ball a little before flicking my wrist, and shooting the ball.
I huffed as the ball bounced off the rim.
A noticed a girl standing by the sidelines. I didn't notice her before, but I just ignored her.
I watched as she took out her earbuds, and stuffed them into her pockets of her hoodie. She smiled at me, "Hey! You're pretty good from what I've seen."
"Thanks." I muttered.
"Why haven't I seen you around here before?" She asked.
"Because I live in Nashville." I answered.
She laughed, "Then why are you in Kendallville?"
"I grew up here, my parents still live here." I shrugged.
"What's your name?" She questioned.
"Spencer." I answered, "You?"
"Leah Smallwood." She smiled.
"Spencer Hess." I mumbled.
"You know, I'm actually moving to Nashville this weekend. It'd be nice to have a friend down there." She stated.
"Then come here," I smirked, "Then I can give you my number."
She giggled before coming over. She carefully handed me her phone as I handed her mine.
I quickly put in my number and changed my name in her phone. Spencer Hess😉
"Thanks," she smiled, taking her phone back.
"Yeah." I grinned, "It's always nice to have a new friend."
"Of course," she blushed, "I guess I'll text you after I move in."
"That'd be great, Leah." I beamed.
"Bye Spencer." She mumbled.
"I'll see you around, Leah." I whispered as she walked off.
For those brief moments, I didn't miss Emma. Maybe Leah was the one.
