Emma—
It was nearing dawn as I ran into the ER. Surprisingly, it was full and alertly awake. A nurse poked his head up as he noticed me.
I approached him, a frown coming to my lips.
"I'm looking for my friend, I-I was called by the first responders." I gasped out.
"Okay." He replied calmly, "What's the name?"
"Spencer. He would've just come a few minutes ago. He's really tall, dark hair." I answered, describing him the best I could.
"All I have is a Spencer Hess. Is that it?" The nurse asked.
I nodded rapidly, "Yeah. Yeah. Where is he? I really need to see him."
The nurse nodded, and began to walk off. I followed him. Not even seconds later, he pulled back a curtain.
Spencer was just laying there, asleep. I'm assuming. What stood out the most was the white neck brace and the scrapes along his skin.
"He'll be okay. He's just passed out from the meds. And yes, you can stay." The nurse just basically answered my questions.
I was shocked as the nurse left me standing there. Slowly, I made my way over to him, taking his hand as I sat in the chair next to him.
"Spencer, I'm so sorry. For everything. I'm really sorry for pushing you away. I know you'll be okay. God still has you in His arms. Oh, baby." I whispered, "Please know that I'm here for you, Spence."
I looked down, feeling my hand being squeezed. I looked back up to Spencer, him just staring blankly at the ceiling.
"There's no need to cry, Em. I'm right here." He mumbled.
I laughed dryly, and wiped my tears with my free hand. "Spencer you had me so worried. I was scared that you were doing to something stupid."
He scoffed, "I did. I got into an accident while checking my phone."
"But you'll be okay. Surely the other person is okay."
"Yeah. She's okay." He attempted to nod.
"Hey, you take it easy. I don't need you getting even more hurt." I sighed.

Slowly, Spencer got up and stood up. I quickly came around my car, allowing Spencer to lean on me.
"You didn't have to bring me to your place." He mumbled.
"Yes I did." I sighed, "I'm scared to leave you alone."
He winced as I wrapped my arm around his back.
"Em, it really hurts." He whimpered.
I nodded, "I know. We're almost there, baby."
After a long 15 minutes, I had gotten Spencer to my apartment and had him take more of his meds. Eventually, he passed out on the couch, his head in my lap.
Avery sat in front of the couch, his head laying on Spencer's stomach.
Even though I spent nights crying over Spencer, Avery was still protective over him. After having Avery for almost a year, I don't understand how I could never have a pet when I was younger. Avery was so sweet, and wouldn't hurt anyone unless it was me, Carson, Morgan or Spencer in trouble.
I sighed, running my fingers through Spencer's hair. It killed me to see him hurt, especially since he called me before his accident. At least he would be okay. He couldn't preform, or sing for a couple weeks. He couldn't even drive until his doctor said so, since he had hurt his neck.
Spencer cried out in pain as he moved slightly. He sighed, "This really hurts."
I giggled, "Want me to kiss it better?"
"Very funny." He muttered.
"I'm sorry, babe. It'll be over soon. I promise, baby." I whispered.
"Emma, I really don't know what I'm doing anymore. I lost someone so important to me, then with my nana, and being cheated on. It's all too much."
I sighed, "Spencer, life isn't about having a relationship. It's about living the life God gave you. He's still writing your love story, and your wife is out there somewhere."
"And what if you're meant to be my wife one day?" He asked.
"Then God will do it." I answered, "Spencer, I'm gonna tell you the truth. You're such a great guy. You're sweet, funny, romantic, attractive and you have all these amazing traits. Any girl would be lucky to be yours, but God has that one girl who will make you lucky. Remember that."
"I will." He yawned.
"Are you tired?" I questioned.
"Yeah." He replied.
"Go to sleep." I whispered, "I'll stay right here."

Spencer slept peacefully on the couch. He passed out again due to his meds. Avery continued to lay in front of the couch, keeping watch over Spencer.
Having already ate, and being bored, I ended up making peanut butter cookies. Who doesn't like cookies?
Avery howled as a knock came to the door, then followed by a child's cries. It was probably Caleb or Kelsey with Baby E.
"Come in!" I called.
Slowly, the door opened, Caleb stepped in with Baby E in his arms. Caleb gave a slight smile, "Hey, I got your text. What happened?"
I sighed, "Spencer got into an accident. He's currently passed on out on the couch."
"How'd it happen?" He asked.
"He was checking his phone last night, and looked to see another coming. He swerved, and the other car T-boned him." I explained, "He got lucky, and he's walking away with minimal injuries. He can't preform, sing or drive for a few weeks."
Caleb shook his head, "Man. At least he's okay. But that really stops our music for a little while."
"I know." I nodded, "I'm sure the fans will understand when we tell them. Avery's been protecting him the whole time. He won't let anyone go near him except me. Not even Morgan."
"Avery's a good dog. He's just making sure Spencer doesn't get hurt more." Caleb smiled.
