Emma's POV~
Spencer and I sat in a Taco Bell. It was actually quite empty for it being rush-hour.
"You know? Emma, I really wouldn't mind being your boyfriend again. I'm hoping that once these headaches go away, you'll let me take you out." Spencer stated.
I smiled, "I would love that, but I don't need fabulous dates. I would just rather be with you. Watching a movie, or sitting in some parking lot and eating ice cream."
"You still have the promise ring." He pointed out.
I blushed and looked down to it. I nodded, "Yeah. I almost never take it off."
"Why?" He asked.
I shrugged, "I don't know, really. I really like it, and I just never thought about taking it off. Maybe because it was still a part of you I had."
"If we do get back together, I won't let the fans say anything negative. I promise."
"You don't have to promise that. I mean, I understand that not everyone will like me, and I'm okay with that. Just, some of those things hurt." I sighed.
He nodded, "They can. But you just learn to block out the haters, and that God's our author."
~*~*~
Spencer was cuddled against me on the couch. It had been like this for a week. He had basically moved in temporarily.
I sighed, "You know, you guys are gonna have to go on tour soon. For the new album."
He grumbled, "I know."
"Well, I wanna wait until you're able to preform. It's not the same without you." I stated.
"I'm tired." He mumbled, yawning.
I smiled, running my fingers through his hair. "Go to sleep. I'll sleep here with you."
"I love you." He whispered.
I bit my lip and stayed quiet until he fell asleep. I really missed nights like this. Moments like these. They happened more often than not.
He would've just come over and we'd watch movies, but he'd end up falling asleep. Not that I didn't mind. It made me hopeful for the future. When we were together, I could see it. Us laying on the couch, just relaxing and he'd end up falling asleep or whatever.
"How's he doing?" Morgan asked, setting her hands on the back of the couch.
I sighed, "Okay. He didn't black out today, so that's good."
"So," Morgan smirked, "I heard your guys' conversation earlier. Are you really gonna ask him back out?"
"I don't know. I kinda want too." I shrugged.
She grinned, "You totally should. You guys were good for each other."
"Of course you would think that." I laughed, "You know, we still need to go dress shopping for you."
"Next Saturday?" She asked.
I nodded, "Sure. You gonna invite the other girls?"
"Yep!" She replied, "So, um, y'all gonna name your kid after me? The awesome aunt." She smirked.
I laughed, shaking my head. Morgan would be that crazy aunt. That was just her personality, but that's why we got along so well. She pushed to go outside my comfort zone, and here I am.
"Yeah. Sure." I muttered sarcastically.
She laughed and I resumed running my fingers through Spencer's hair. He just slept peacefully.
"I'm serious, though." Morgan stated, "You really should take him back. It's obvious how much you love and care for him. You should've seen yourself rushing out here when he was in the accident."
I sighed, "It's just, we've been best friends since we were three, then in our freshman year, he left. Five years later, I met him again in Chickfila, and we're dating." I paused, taking a breath. "He made me feel so special. Like there was no other girl on earth wanting to be in my place. He made me so unbelievably happy, and I'm so ashamed of myself for letting the fans get to me."
She smiled, "Don't worry about them, and focus on God, and Spencer."
Morgan put her hand on my shoulder, and gave it a gently squeeze before walking off to her room. Avery looked up, but stayed put in front of the couch.
I sighed, "I love you too, Spencer." I whispered.
~*~*~
I waited patiently outside the bathroom door. Spencer was in the shower, and he was taking forever.
Morgan had already left for work. Spencer and I needed to get to the office. At this point, we're gonna be late.
I banged on the door, "Spencer! You okay in there?!"
Instantly, I heard the water shut off. I could hear him sigh.
"I'm fine, Emma." He stated.
Minutes later, he came out; fully dressed and his hair wet. I smiled, hugging his torso.
"You had me worried." I muttered.
"I'm sorry. I guess I zoned out." He shrugged.
He pulled back, pressing a small kiss to my forehead. He walked passed me and headed for my room.
Sighing, I made my way to the kitchen. I desperately needed coffee. Sleeping on the couch was not comfortable.
I stood on my toes, attempting to reach the top shelf. Wow. I needed to do dishes.
Spencer laughed from behind me. I sighed, and he reached up, grabbing two of my coffee cups. He kissed my cheek as he sat them down on counter.
"Thanks." I sighed.
"You know, it's cute how you're so short." He grinned.
"You're too tall, Spence." I whined.
"I really like that nickname, babe. Just like I really like you." He whispered.
I froze, and shivered. The things he did to me, I swear. Taking a deep breath, I rolled my eyes.
"Anyway, how's your head today?" I asked.
"It's fine. For now, it's only a slight headache." He replied.
I turned around, leaning up against the counter. I gave a slight smile, "Why don't you take some medicine now, and then you can take some more later if needed. Let's keep that pain at a minimum."
He nodded sadly, and leaned down. He smiled before connecting our lips, and laying his hands on my waist.
"Okay." He whispered.
"Spencer, you know this is so wrong. Doing this whole thing, and we're not even together." I sighed.
He smirked, "We kinda are, Emma. We just don't have a label."
I laughed, "Stop stealing my thunder, and let me coffee. I'm tired."

For those who don't know, I've started a one shot book of Anthem Lights. So far, I have 5 one shots up, and working another. It'd mean a lot if y'all would check that out.
