Emma's POV~

I sat down in the chair next her bed. Spencer just stood behind me, with Carson babbling like always.

Mom looked over to me, then up to Spencer and Carson. She groaned in disgust. Then she smirked.

"Did you two finally sleep together?" She asked, "Is he yours?"

"No. He's my little brother." I answered.

She scoffed, "That filthy pig remarried."

"Yes." I nodded, "He remarried. This is Carson."

"I wouldn't be surprised if you and Jesus boy slept together. He is a cutie. I'd do it." She muttered.

"Um. I don't know if I should be flattered or what." Spencer whispered.

"Mom," I sighed.

Spencer attempted to get Carson in his seat in the dark. I stood there, waiting, just in case he needed help.

"Finally," he muttered, climbing out of the car.

"Hey, Spencer," I sighed.

"Yeah?" He asked, facing me.

I took a deep breath, then leaned up, kissing him. Hesitantly, his hands went to my waist as mine went around his neck. I relaxed, and leaned up against his car.

I pulled back, and Spencer let out a breath.

I smiled, "I missed your kisses."

"Emma, you know I just cheated on Leah. Right?" He questioned.

"I know." I sighed, "Just don't tell her. Please. I just wanted one last kiss."

He let out a slight laugh, "I missed your kisses."

I giggled, "I'm sorry to ruin the moment, but I'm hungry."

"Me too." He whispered, placing a chaste kiss to my lips.

I blushed as my phone went off, playing 413, one of Spencer's songs.

"Um," I muttered, "It's your mom."

"I didn't know you had my mom's number."

He laughed as he pulled back. I began looking for my phone. I accepted the call as I found it.

"Hello?" I greeted.

"Hey, Emma. Dumb question, I know. Is Spencer with you?" She asked.

"He actually is. Do you need him?" I questioned.

"Not at this moment," she stated, "Just have him call me when he gets the chance."

I smiled, "Of course."

"Thanks sweetheart. I'll talk to you later."

"Okay. Bye." I muttered.

She hung up, and I dropped my phone to my side.

"What'd my mom want?" He asked.

I shrugged, "She just said to call her when you get a chance."

He nodded, "I'll call her after we get food."

I leaned my head back against the car, closing my eyes. Just enjoying the moment. Something I didn't get to do often.

"I miss moments like this. Where it was just us, and it was like the world stopped." I whispered.

"I miss you."

~*~*~

I sat on the edge of the bed in my sweatpants, watching Carson play on the floor, eating a blizzard and laughing.

Spencer had sat his blizzard on the nightstand and fell backwards onto the bed. He covered his face as he laughed. I stopped laughing as I watched him.

He stopped as well, peeking at me.

"Whatcha staring at, gorgeous?" He asked.

"I'm just realizing how beautiful your laugh is." I answered, "Never mind, that sounded creepy."

A look came to his face, an expression that I've seen many times. A smile came to his lips.

"I really have missed this." He whispered.

"I know." I sighed, "I've missed it too."

"So, how did your mom break us up?" He questioned.

"She wanted to accuse you of sexual assault. I know you would never do that, but she doesn't need evidence. She could convince a jury like that." I replied, "I didn't want you to have to throw away your whole life. Especially when you're only twenty with a career ahead of you. Something like that ruins people. You just had so much."

"Babe," he sighed, "I don't care. Because if that did happen, I would still have you. I would give up everything for you."

"I know. But it didn't feel right. Sending you to prison because of my selfish reasons. Besides, it would kill me to see you behind bars." I stated honestly.

I picked up Carson as he came to the edge of the bed. I sat him on my lap and shared my ice cream with him. He happily took it.

"You know," Spencer started, "This is what I wanted. I could see this. Just sitting here, watching you play with our baby. I could see your stunning smile, that amazing sparkle in your brown eyes. Sleeping next to you every night, and waking up to you every morning."

"You wanna know what's weird?" I asked.

"Sure," he answered.

I laughed, "I could see us on Christmas morning, watching our kids run around the tree. They had your eyes. They looked just like you."

"I really did want that. I think in October I finally realized that I wanted to actually marry you. I wanted to propose, but I thought it was too early and that you'd reject me."

"If it wasn't for my mom," I sighed, "I would've said yes."

"That reminds me," he mumbled, rolling over. I watched as he grabbed his phone. "I need to call my mom."

"Spenca!" Carson cooed, crawling to him. Carson sat next to Spencer. Spencer let him play with his fingers as he called his mom.

"Hey, mom." He smiled. "Yeah. Okay. Oh, um, I'm in Indiana. Emma had a family emergency and wanted me to come." He paused, a worried expression coming to his face, "Yeah. I'll see her in morning. Okay, ma. I love you too. Bye."

He hung up his phone, laying it back on the nightstand. He sighed.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"You remember my nana? She hasn't been feeling well, and she wants to see me." He mumbled. He frowned, his lip quivering, "I'm really scared."

I got up, setting down my ice cream, and picked up Carson. I sat him in his playpen, then crawled back onto the bed. Spencer sat up.

"Come here." I whispered.

He scooted closer, wrapping his arms around me. I wrapped mine around him as he buried his face into my neck.

"I don't want her to leave us." He whimpered.

"Hey, she's strong, Spencer. She's made it this far. We just have to pray for her. She's all in God's hands." I reassured.

"And what if he takes her?" He asked.

"Then it's God's will. I know you'll miss her, and so will I, but she'll be safe with God." I answered.

Soon enough, I felt his tears on my skin. It hurt me to see him so vulnerable. I laid back, taking Spencer with me.

I just held him, trying to comfort him as much as I could.
