Eighteen
Emma's POV~
I looked up as Spencer groaned, clutching his hair in his fists.
"Hey-Hey, get the lights and be quiet!" I demanded. Joey quickly got up and shut off the lights as I slid out of my chair.
Spencer had slid out of his and kneeled onto the floor. "Emma-" he gasped.
I sunk to the floor in front of him, and he leaned into me, burying his face into my neck. His arms wrapped around me tightly.
"Sh." I whispered.
"Make it stop." He whimpered.
"Hey, sh." I mumbled, rubbing his back. Ultimately, Spencer tightened his grip on me.
Although, I didn't mind. I just wanted to take away his pain. He whimpered, and whined.
"Please." He begged.
I looked to the three guys, "Someone needs to me a cool towel. Now."
Caleb nodded and got up, doing what I asked.
"Is he going to be okay?" Chad asked. I nodded, answering his question.
"Spencer, baby, I need you to lie down. Okay?" I whispered.
He nodded and removed himself from my neck. He slid himself, and laid on the floor, his head in my lap. Caleb came back and handed me the wet towel.
Spencer squeezed his eyes shut as I laid the towel over his forehead and eyes. I sat there, letting him lay there as long as he needed. This was his first day back since his accident.
"Em?" He whispered breathlessly.
"I'm right here, okay? I'm not leaving. Don't black out on me. You're gonna be okay, baby." I reassured, "Do you wanna go my place?"
He shook his head slightly, "I'm okay. I'll be okay."
He just kept whispering those words to himself. Over and over.
He groaned as another wave of pain hit him. He grabbed my hand, squeezing it as hard as he could.
"Spencer, listen to me. I'm gonna have one of the guys help me. We're gonna put you on the couch. Stay with me. Don't black out on us." I muttered.
This time, Chad got up and helped me with Spencer. Spencer had sat up, and with our help, managed to stand up.
Leaning on me, Spencer made his way to the leather couch, and immediately laying down.
"Em? Please don't leave me." He mumbled.
"I'm right here, baby. Okay? I'm not leaving. Just, if you want too, go to sleep." I reassured.
He nodded, as much as he could.
~*~*~
I ran my fingers through Spencer's hair. He had been passed out for a few hours now.
"So, when did this start?" Caleb asked, referring to the headaches.
I sighed, "A few days ago. It has gotten so bad that he's blacked out a few times."
"All we can do is pray." Chad stated.
"You know." I started, "I can't but feel responsible. If I had just picked up when he called, then he wouldn't've been in the accident."
"Did you have a chance to answer his call?" Joey questioned.
I sighed, shaking my head, "No, but I was the only person he called."
"It's not your fault, Em. He's fighting a battle we don't know about, and it's obvious that he trusts you." Caleb assured.
"I'm just worried. I want to take him back to the hospital, but he won't let me." I mumbled.
"When he wakes up, we'll ask him. But I think we need the fans' prayers. They all prayed for Chad when he tore his achilles'." Joey stated.
Chad nodded, "That's true. The lightbulbs would always do something to help."
I bit my lip. They didn't help our relationship. They basically killed it.
"Stop that. I know what you're thinking, Em." Caleb demanded.
"How?" I asked, my voice cracking. "Spencer and I are in this mess because of that. He worries me sometimes."
I looked back to Spencer as he stirred. It was true. He did worry me sometimes. I did miss him, and what we had. There were so many times where I hated his fans and my own mother for splitting us up.
"Em, we know it's hard. You always have that look when you're looking at him. You act like we're not married." Chad joked.
I laughed a bit, "I know. Just, life gets hard sometimes, and I just keep leaning on God."
Spencer had this peaceful look on his face. Lately he had been sleeping a lot, since it was the only way he could escape the physical pain. It killed me to see him in this much pain.
"Ask him back out." Joey stated.
"I wanna give him time, but I just might. These few months without him have been hard." I sighed, "It'd be nice to have by my side again."
"Yes." Spencer mumbled.
Chad smirked as I looked to Spencer. "What?" I asked.
"Yes." He repeated, "I want you as my girlfriend again."
I smiled, "We'll talk about that later."
~*~*~
Spencer sat on the couch patiently as I packed my things. Chad was still here because he was gonna help carry my stuff and help with Spencer if he needed help.
"Hey, Emma. Can we talk?" Levi's voice rang out and his knuckles against the wall.
I swallowed and looked up. I nodded, "Sure. What do you need?"
"Could we speak privately?" He asked.
"Yeah." I answered. I quickly looked at Spencer, "I'll be right back."
Spencer nodded as I stood up. Quickly, I walked over to Levi, taking his hand and leading him outside.
"Listen, I really like you, but it's not gonna work." Levi stated.
"Oh, um. Okay. Did I do something wrong?" I questioned.
Levi shook his head quickly, "No. No. You're a lovely girl, but we just aren't meant to be. I'm sure you're still stuck on Spencer, and I don't blame you. I know how hard something like that is. But I'm seeing his ex. I have been, for a couple weeks." He explained.
I nodded, "I mean, it's not like we were official or anything. But I understand. You deserve the best, and I hope you're happy with her."
"Could I get one last hug?" He asked sheepishly.
"Sure." I smiled. I leaned up, wrapping my arms around his neck, as his went around my waist. Levi held me for about 10 seconds before letting go.
He sighed, "I guess this is goodbye. I just might see you down the road."
"Bye Levi." I mumbled.
He quickly kissed my cheek, "Goodbye Emma."
He turned away, and shoved his hands into his pockets. As he turned the corner, I went back into the office.
"What'd he want?" Spencer asked.
"It's nothing." I shook my head, "He was just saying goodbye."
