Her Maths Tutor~Part Two
Shivaay Singh Oberoi had always been very confident in whatever he did. Since a young age, he had seen his bade papa rule the world of business and had decided he would be a business man, too, and would take Oberoi Industries to a height greater than what even Tej Singh Oberoi could have imagined. At the very young age of 18, his teachers could already see in him the successful man he would one day become. Be it studies or sports, Shivaay was ahead of everyone else. And why wouldn't he be? After all, his sole focus had always been on excelling, and nothing had ever managed to disrupt it.
Which is why, when he had spotted a certain girl in one of his football matches and she had managed to capture his attention, he had been shocked, to say the least.
He had first noticed Annika, as he later found out her name was, during the final match of their Inter-School football tournament. It was as intense a final as it could be, with both teams scoring one goal each and the match then proceeding to penalty shootouts. Shivaay had been extremely tensed, since he was of course the captain of the team, and this being his last year in school, he wished to leave on a good note, leaving behind a legacy. At the end, when it was his chance to shoot, their win was depending upon him. If he scored, they would win, and if he didn't, the trophy would have to be shared. And Shivaay did not like sharing.
Sheer determination in his eyes, he had been preparing himself in front of the goal post, staring at the ball as he planned. And when he had looked up- ah, that is when he had seen her.
Wearing the school t-shirt, Annika had had her eyes closed and hands clasped in prayer. Her long, wild hair had been flying in the wind, and she had looked ethereal, to say the least. Shivaay had been absolutely disoriented when his heart had started beating faster at the sight. He had never, in his 18 years of life, found a girl to be so beautiful before. He had dated, yes, but only because Tia had been nagging and annoying him to go out with her since ages, and he had to relent so that he could eventually get her off his back. Moreover, while all of Annika's friends sitting around her had been busy gossiping and looked uninterested in the affair, she herself looked like her life depended on the game. When she had finally opened her eyes, Shivaay had looked away. A smile on his lips and suddenly gained confidence in his heart, he had taken the shot, one thought running through his mind- This one's for her.
And of course, they had won.
Since then, Shivaay's eyes had silently followed her. He had acknowledged that he had a crush on her, but going and telling her so was out of the question. Even though practically all the girls in the school were crazy about him, she had seemed as uninterested as possible. Whenever he walked by her and her group of friends, all the other girls would giggle, while she would roll her eyes without sparing him a glance. Although Shivaay was impressed that she wasn't like those typical girl who went after looks and money, he was a bit wounded- okay, a lot wounded- that his charms worked on every other girl but the one he wanted. Which is why, he was nervous about approaching her and getting rejected, thus making his already wounded ego even more bruised. He had broken up with Tia, in the cafeteria nonetheless, in an attempt to maybe grab her attention and let her know he was single, but it hadn't worked. She had merely stifled a laugh, ended up giggling adorably, and gone back to her own life.
But as they say, when you truly want something, the entire universe conspires to let you have it. His maths teacher had called him one day, and asked him to tutor one of his students from grade-XI, and Shivaay had refused right away. But thankfully, Rajesh Sir had slipped the said student's name, making Shivaay's eyes light up.
"Annika is a bright student, Shivaay, but she could really use your help in maths. I'm sure it won't be too much trou-"
"I'll do it," Shivaay had said, decidedly, a stupid grin on his handsome face. "Of course I'll do it. From tomorrow, itself."
And that is how Shivaay Singh Oberoi had ended up in the best possible scenario, teaching maths to his beautiful crush.

"Okay, I don't care how much you don't like Captain America, but you have to admit- Chris Evans is HOT."
Around two weeks later, Shivaay and Annika sat in their daily tution lessons, debating about which superhero was better. This was a scenario Annika could never have imagined, but here they were. If in the past few days she had learnt something, it was to never judge a person without knowing them first.
Shivaay was an extremely laid back person, and the genuine interest he showed in anything Annika said made her feel overwhelmed. They had become something like friends, and she looked forward to their half an hour meeting everyday. Along with solving maths, they would tell each other about their life, day- everything, basically. He didn't show any of the arrogance he sported outside when he was with her, and was very friendly and chilled out in general. In fact, the way he taught, Annika had actually started to improve in the subject. Although many a times, Shivaay had wanted to hit his head against the table owing to her lack of enthusiasm when learning!
One other thing that Annika would never admit she liked about their sessions was the fact that he was quite...touchy, when it came to her. If it had been any other boy, Annika would have whacked him to death, but with Shivaay, it felt good. It felt right, somehow. He would bring his chair quite close to her, making their knees bump against each others at times, and would lean unnecessarily close when checking her copy over her shoulder. While taking the pen from her, his fingers would brush against hers, and she would feel sparks.
Then, there was also the fact that he would stare intensely at her, whether inside the classroom or when they were with their own friends, when he thought she wasn't looking. But she did notice everything, and nowadays, he was making her heart beat faster with his presence. Annika was starting to realize that she had a crush on him, but wasn't willing to admit it to anyone. People would only think of her as one of the many admirers of Shivaay The Heartthrob, but the fact was that she sincerely liked his personality, one that seemed to miraculously change when he was with her.
"Oh come on, that's not how you decided who's a better superhero!" Shivaay retorted, outraged and also a bit jealous that she found some other dude hot. Rolling her eyes, Annika got back to doing maths, muttering how boys would just never understand. Shivaay shook his head in amusement, staring as she twisted her mouth in that cute way of hers whenever she was stuck in a problem. He was getting deep into this feeling for her, whatever it was. The more he came to know her and her down-to-earth, beautiful personality, the more he fell for her, each day.
"Shivaay," Annika called out, as he was too busy gawking. His name sounded amazing from her mouth, according to him. And speaking of her mouth, he would love to kiss those pouty lips...
"Shivaay?" Annika repeated, waving her hand in front his face for good measure. Shivaay broke out of his thoughts and composed himself at that, clearing his throat.
"Yeah?" He asked, trying hard not to stare at her mouth.
"What did I do wrong here?" Annika asked, showing him her copy. Shivaay leaned in, bringing his chair so close it was completely touching hers, and Annika's heart beat fastened. As he looked over her shoulder, she could feel his breath over her neck. He had also draped his arm around her chair, and if he came any more closer, Annika would die of a heart attack.
"Hmm, let me see," Said Shivaay, taking his own sweet time in checking. Annika smelled so good, and he had this incredible urge to pull her onto his lap and inhale the fragrance of her hair. This made him lean in even closer, the air around them heating up. Annika gulped, the proximity messing with every nerve she possessed, and taking a chance, she turned to face him, tilting her head slightly. Shivaay was staring right back, their faces just a few inches apart. The intensity of his eyes unnerved her, and when his eyes oh-so-subtly darted towards her lips, for a fraction of a second, she almost stopped breathing.
Shivaay on the other hand didn't know what was happening, or what he was doing. All he knew was, he wanted to kiss her. He wanted to make her his, and let all those guys she hung out with or who had a crush on her know that she was taken. So, gathering all the courage he possessed as an Oberoi man, he leaned in, his eyes becoming hooded as he did. As Annika realized what was happening, her eyes widened, before they quickly fluttered close. He was closer, so close their noses were almost touching, head tilted to align his mouth with hers. Their lips were just about to touch when-
The bell rang.
Jumping violently at the sudden interruption, the both of them came back to their senses. Annika's face was completely red, and hastily shoving her books into her bag, she made her way outside, heart beating wildly in her chest. Cursing loudly, Shivaay too packed his bag and ran after her. He was not going to let things be awkward between them.
"Annika!" He called out, seeing her practically jogging towards her classroom. Taking a deep breath, she turned around to face him, praying hard he didn't mention the almost-kiss.
"Um," Shivaay started, coming closer, "I was wondering if you wanted to, uh, go out for a coffee with me today? After school?" He asked, extremely nervous as he ran a hand through his hair. Annika blushed at the request, wondering if this was really happening, and she was being asked out by her crush who also happened to be the crush of the entire female population in school. Some males too, probably. Not trusting her voice, Annika nodded, giving a shy smile.
Shivaay's face broke into a wide grin at that, and as she turned to go to her classroom again, he punched the air with his fist happily. Deciding to bunk the next class, he instead went to the cafeteria and started wondering how he could make their 'first date' special, and how he could finally ask her to be his girlfriend.

One month later
"Shivaay, I don't understand this problem."
Sitting on his lap in a discreet corner of the school, Annika attempted to show him a math that had been pissing her off, but to no avail. He was too busy inhaling the sweet scent of her glossy hair.
"Shivaay!" Annika tried again, and got his attention this time.
"Yeah?" He asked, a bit dazed. Pouting, Annika turned around a little to show him her copy. Shivaay stared at it a while, before shrugging his shoulders.
"I don't get it either," he said nonchalantly, closing the copy and keeping it aside.
"Haww, how do you not get this! You're supposed to be my maths tutor!" Annika taunted, as he wrapped his arms around her waist tighter.
"But before being your math tutor, I'm your boyfriend. So leave this subject aside, and focus on me instead," he said, running his nose along the length her neck. Annika squirmed at the touch, and giggled.
"Actually, mister, you happen to be my math tutor before being my boyfriend. And you're now disregarding maths, when it is what brought us together in the first place!"
Sighing happily, Shivaay looked up, and turning her around, cupped her cheeks.
"And am I ever so glad about that," he said, looking at her lovingly while caressing her cheeks, before leaning down and capturing those lips that drove him crazy. Annika smiled, before kissing back her very handsome math tutor cum boyfriend.
The End.

I would have loved to continue this one and write more about their relationship, but it was originally meant to be a two-shot so ending it here. Will write more high-school Shivika fics in the future, because teenage Shivika is my new bae 💕
Hope y'all liked it!
