Shoto x Reader (Perfect)
Happy Late Late Late Valentine's Day!
YOUR POV
Basket, blanket, card, and food. That's all I need. Now, I just need to text Shoto. "This has to be perfect." I breath out. I don't want to embarrass myself. This is my first Valentine's Day with Shoto. He's just amazing. He'll listen to me, do some sweet gestures like a light kiss on the cheek or a hug while I'm feeling down. Shoto would also get me some pretty expensive gifts every now and again, it sometimes makes me feel bad that I can't give anything as sentimental back. So I'll try today.
He always loves the park so I thought a picnic there would be great. Then I made a card for him. It took forever. Finally, I made homemade cold soba, his favorite. As long as all of this goes according to plans, we should end going back to my house to watch a movie and snuggle.

Hey Sho. Can you come to the park around 3 for a small, little date plz?
Sure. See you there.
I get off of my phone and walk out the door of my apartment. Taking the elevator down to the bottom floor I looked at my weather app. "90% chance of showers! Are you serious!?" As I yelled that, everyone in the elevator stared or gave me a dirty glance.
Well, if I wasn't going to embarrass myself in front of Shoto, it was going to be in front of a bunch of people who live in my apartment building. After I got to the first floor, I quickly ran out of the elevator and tried to catch the bus to the park.
Sprinting to the bus stop the bus was just leaving. Seeing this I sprinted two times faster. "Wait up! Please?!" With all my things in hand I watched the bus drive away. "Oh come on!" At least I can wait for the next bus, whenever that'll come. Looking back at my phone I realized it was already five to two. I'm gonna be late. "Well this is going just great." Opening up my texting app, I texted Shoto that I was going to be late. "Why can't things just go my way."
Until the next bus came I pouted internally. Shoto is always so perfect and does the most perfect things for me, why can't I at least do something perfect for him? When the bus came I got onto it, took a seat and waited until I got to the park.
Once I got there, the dark clouds covered the golden sun as I saw Shoto standing under an oak tree. "Shoto! Over here!" I waved my hand in the air to get his attention.
Looking at me he gave me one of his rare smiles and walked over. "Hey (y/n). Glad you're here."
"I hope I wasn't to late. I didn't get to the bus stop on time." I truthfully replied, a little embarrassed. "Well anyways, let's get to our date!"
He nodded and took the basket from my hands. I laid out the blanket on the grass as Shoto put the picnic basket down. As both of us sat down on the white and red blanket that matched Shoto's hair I took out the cold soba from the basket, left the lid opened and split it into two bowls. Giving one of the bowls to Shoto I looked back in the basket for my card that I made.
"*BOOM*" A sound and flash of lighting shot and scared the living daylight out of me as I looked at Shoto. He was unfazed which really didn't surprise me. "We need to find cover." He said in a monotone voice. Well it did say it was most likely going to rain today, but I didn't think it was going to be that bad.
Suddenly, my boyfriend took my wrist and ran us back under the oak tree. "What was that for Shoto?" I ask. Then it started to pour.
"And that's why I pulled you under the tree."
I was okay, until I realized we left the homemade soba and the open basket with the card in it out in the open. All of my hard work was now soaked. "Wait! The stuff." Before I could go back into the pouring rain to run and get all the things I worked so hard on, Shoto grabbed my waist.
"Don't, it's fine."
"You don't understand. All of that was supposed to make this Valentine's Day special and perfect." I got out of his grip and slouch up against the oak tree. "You're amazing and sweet and kind and perfect! You always care for me without expecting anything in return. I just wanted to do something close to perfect for you." I sighed and slid down to the grassy floor. "Yet whenever I try to do anything, it always ends up crappy and ruined. I can't even get to a bus on time to save my life." I wave my hands a bit to empathize my point.
For a few minutes, Shoto doesn't say anything. I silently start to tear up without even thinking about it. Slowly, the bi-colored hair boy came down to my level. He wiped a tear from my cheek and spoke. "Perfect? Is that how you see my gestures? If so, that's exactly how I see your gestures. You're sweet and caring. Everything the gestures you do in my eyes, are already perfect. So what if a Valentine's Day date is ruined by rain? We can just go to a restaurant or watch a movie and cuddle at your apartment or SOMETHING. I don't want you to feel like that, cause you're all I need. You're perfect, just the way you are."
Looking into his hectocromic eyes, I felt better. He made me feel safe. His words definitely comforted me. After seeing me calm down, Shoto pulled me into a tight hug. He then sat down on the grass and pulled me onto his lap, slowly stroking my hair as he kissed my forehead while whispering sweet things in my ear.
"Lets wait till the rain stops. Then we'll go back to your apartment and cuddle. How does that sound?"
"That sounds great Shoto." I replied.
"Good. Happy Valentine's Day love..."
