Shoto x Hanahaki! Reader (Roses)
YOUR POV
Here I am again, in the bathroom in the middle of class throwing up bloody petals. It's been like this for over a week which doesn't help. I've told my parents... That didn't go so well. And it's all because of the cold hearted Todoroki Shoto.
I like him so so much, but this just hurts, so so bad. In this world if you love someone and it seems like they don't love you back, you get this thing called Hanahaki Disease. I've searched it up online, and the results aren't good. You can either get a surgery that takes away the feelings and memories of the person you fell in love with, forever, which also means you'd never be able to love them again, or you can die. Plain and simply. Live or die.
My parents have scheduled me to get this treatment tomorrow, they don't want me to die. But is it really worth forgetting Todoroki. Sure he's cold hearted to some people, but he's not that bad. Of course this is all my fault though, only if I didn't ask Izuku to find out for me. Exactly a week ago I couldn't fight the feelings anymore and I came up with a plan to test these feelings in another. Todoroki's.
FLASHBACK
3RD PERSON POV
"Come on Izuku. Please! It's for love!"
"B-but (y/n). What if he doesn't like you back. What if he likes someone else? I don't wanna lose you."
The (color) haired girl sighed. "I know, but I have a feeling. No matter what it takes I have to know. I don't care about the risks."
Izuku sighed. "But Hanahaki..."
"It's not terminal, I can get a treatment!"
"But would you choose to do it. Think about it, would it really be worth it. Also, we're still in high school (y/n)."
(y/n) took out her notebook and opened to a particular page. On it there was scribbles of writing clearly showing that (y/n) had been planning this for a while. "Please, I have to try. I can't take it anymore."
"Fine, what's your plan?"
"Okay, so I'll call you on your phone. You'll slip your phone into your pocket and walk over to talk to Todoroki. Then just ask him this series of questions about me. I'll be able to hear what he really thinks of me." The female had a smile on her face.
"How do you know he'll tell me the truth?"
(y/n) was flipping through some more of her notebook pages. "Because you're like his best friend." The girl then looked back at Izuku. "He would tell you the truth wouldn't he?"
"Oh the things I'll do for you. Okay (y/n), let's do this." Izuku also then had a some what unsure smile.
LATER
Izuku already had the phone set in his pocket with (y/n) already listening in as he was walking towards Shoto's room. As he knocked on the door he asked. "Umm, Todoroki? Can we talk?"
Shoto opened the door and invited Izuku in. "So, what do you need to talk to me about?"
"It's about (l/n)." The (color) haired girl listened intently to her phone that was on her bed in her room. She was waiting, and hoping that her feeling was correct. Her and Todoroki have been friends a long time now. She was one of his only friends in the first year they were in U.A. Maybe, just maybe, He liked her too.
"What about (l/n)?"
"I just want to ask a few questions about what you think about her."
"Okay." Todoroki replied emotionlessly.
"So, what do you think of her?"
Todoroki paused for a bit. (y/n) holding her breath for his response. "Well, she's a good friend. A really good friend."
"Anything else?"
"Well, what do you mean what else? She's my friend. That's all I can say bu-" (y/n) couldn't bear to hear anymore. So she turned off her phone.
Instantly regretting that whole scheme to find out if Todoroki liked her, but clearly it wasn't worth it in the end. "Gahh, why does my throat feel so sore." She then began to cough something up. "A red rose petal?"
Then it finally hit her. Hanahaki. Soon enough she'll be dead with blood around her and thorns piercing her throat. Then there's the treatment. She said she'd get it if Todoroki didn't like her, but now she was trying to push that option out of her head. She doesn't want to forget Todoroki and never be able to love him again. Right then and there she called her parents.
END OF FLASHBACK
THE NEXT DAY
AT U.A.
Shoto was walking around U.A. trying to find (y/n). It was after school so everyone was going home around now. The girl had been avoiding him all week and he just didn't know why. So he found Izuku and asked him.
"Hey Midoriya, where's (l/n)? Also, do you know why she's been avoiding me all week?" Shoto asked in a monotone voice.
"Oh uhh, that's the thing. She's kind of having surgery today."
"What? What happened? She didn't seem hurt." Shoto's voice was clearly laced with concern.
"She..." Izuku mumbled the ending part.
"What was that?"
"SHE HAS HANAHAKI DIESEASE!" Izuku then put his hands over his mouth.
"Wait really?" Shoto held a bit of jealousy in his heart for thinking that (y/n) doesn't like him. "Who does she like?"
"Umm... you." Shoto blinked a few times. "You know when I randomly asked what you thought of (y/n) a week ago? Yeah, she wanted to know so she had me call her and put my phone in my pocket to let her listen in on what you had to say."
"Well, it's not like I was going to tell you the truth. You're a close friend, but still. I really do like her though." Then it hit him. "Wait she's getting the surgery. She's going to forget who I am." Shoto then grasped Izuku's shoulders. "Where is she getting that surgery."
Don't worry, this has two split endings! Sad ending or happy ending. Choose whatever you which. Hope you enjoy!

SAD ENDING
Shoto ran into the white building and right to the front desk. "Where is (l/n) (y/n)?"
"Oh well she just got out of surgery. It was successfully done as of what I heard. She's in room 108."
Shoto thanked the front desk person but then thought of all the outcomes. Maybe she won't forget him. Maybe the desk personnel was wrong, maybe something happened in the surgery and (l/n) was okay. He then came to the door with the black letters 108 on them. He then knocked.
After he heard the voice of the girl he was looking for. "Come in!"
Opening the door he was met with a confused gaze from a pair of (color) eyes. "Hi? I'm sorry do I know you?"
That shot right through Shoto's heart. "You really don't know who I am?"
The girl shook her head. "Sorry, is there anything I can help you with sir?"
"No. I'm sorry for disturbing you." Shoto then took his leave and left the hospital. Why did he lie. Why couldn't he have just said he liked her. (l/n) would still be with him, maybe even dating him by now.
From that day on Shoto began to cough up rose petals and blood. And you can imagine what happened next...
HAPPY ENDING
Shoto sprinted into the white building to the front desk person. "Where is (l/n) (y/n)?"
"Oh she just got out into surgery down that hallway over there and-" Shoto just ran down the hallway ignoring the front desk person. "Sir! You can't just run down into an operating room!"
Shoto didn't care. He was going to get to (l/n) if it was the last thing he could do. Slamming open the door he saw (y/n) laying down on an operating table. The door clearly made everyone look at him including the girl he was in love with.
"Kid what are you doing?! You can't be in here!"
"T-Todoroki? What are you doing here *cough*" The girl went into a coughing fit.
"Kid, you have to get out of here the disease is getting worse." The doctor tried to push Shoto out of the room.
"No." Shoto pushed the doctors away came over to (y/n) who was sitting up on the operating table. "(y/n), Midoriya told me I caused this."
"I guess the secrets out I guess-" She then went into another coughing fit.
"Okay I'll make this quick. I like you too. This was my fault I shouldn't have lied that day to Midoriya. I'm sorry. And I hope doing this will help you forgive me." With that Shoto kissed (y/n), getting a surprised squeak from the girl.
"That was..." (y/n) was blushing up a storm.
"Yeah."
"Umm hate to interrupt you kids but is she getting that surgery or not." Shoto, annoyed that a doctor had ruined an intimate moment between him and the girl he wanted to make his, shot the doctor a deathly glare. Which made the poor doctor shudder.
"Come on, let's get you out of here (y/n)."
"Okay, but can we get my clothes, I don't really want to be walking around outside in a white doctor's smock." Shoto nodded as he grasped (y/n)'s hand and began to find her clothes. After they did, Shoto made sure to have (y/n) happy to make up for the miscommunication that almost took his love's life.
