In the eyes of Panem, Mercy was for the weak. But in the eyes of Irena Devore, Mercy was for the dead. She swore to herself she will raise her daughter the same way she was taught, to be an adamant white teeth woman who scorns at tears and withholds no mercy. Fortunately for her, Nova Devore was born into tragedy and dignity. 

Grown into the woman she had become, she never had a father figure in her life. Her father had died in the arena when he was reaped at eighteen years old. Her mother was nineteen back then, broken-hearted and ashamed to raise her daughter all by her young self. 

The circle of Life and Death continued for the Devore women. At sixteen years old, Nova Devore was reaped into the 67th annual Hunger Games. During her Games, the Capitol began to admire this mysterious young girl. It was all about impression and character, she didn't budge. The Capitol liked a little game of Chase Master. Once she had won in that arena, which was quite surprising, yet slightly expected, they worshipped her.

Like daughter, like mother, the Devore women had issues. Irena was closed off to the world, hidden from the Capitol in her daughter shadow. She intended to live and stay that way. She found peace within her little home with her daughter. While Nova became the opposite after her games. Yearning for years of ungotten attention, she looked far and wide for it.

During her times of prostitution to the Capitol. They had sent her back home for a time of "rest". Back home in District Eleven, she met a man by the name of Arthur Ripley, who she once believed loved her. He was going to leave his wife behind. She didn't love him anyways, uncaring of what he did. It was all a front. His wife knew he was sneaking off behind the old abandoned barn with the young girl, but it didn't bother her. The nights when he'd come home from the affair, she would say nothing about it and front a smile on her face, playing the role of the clueless wife. 

Nova gave her all to him, believing in his smooth talking words. She thought he loved her. And he did, but he loved his wife and his life more. He wasn't going to risk the reputation of an older man with a younger girl. It's disowning on both ends! Little did he know, seventeen year old Victor, Nova Devore was announced pregnant. 

President Snow found it utterly improper to tell his Panem citizens that their "Golden Girl" was impregnated with an older man's child. Nova had tried to reason with Snow that Arthur wasn't that much older than her. He was twenty-six and she was seventeen at the time. The President of Panem had refused the girl. No, they will not know who the real father is. Instead, how about a better addition to the show? The baby's father wasn't Arthur Ripley's child, it was indeed the 65th Victor from District Four (who happened to be the same age as her), "Golden Boy," Finnick Odair. 

Years later, Koryn Devore-Odair was forced to learned at a young age that being born into this life is nowhere near fair. You must kill and hunt your way out, no matter what the circumstances and who gets in your way. Her little pure heart pounds in rage with righteous anger when President Snow announces the 75th Quarter Quell. Now, all Hell breaks loose.

Welcome to Shotgun Season, loves! I am literally so obsessed with this plot and this book has me so excited to write. Honestly, I've been back on my Hunger Games phase big time and I just miss Peeta and Finnick so much. However, Dylan O'brien is dramatically fine and I just had to add him (since he's so perfect for a hunger games book like-).

Note that both Sadie Sink and Taylor Swift are portraying Nova, but in different ages. Sadie is meant for the flashbacks and Taylor is meant for the modern time (which takes place during catching fire, mockingjay, and so on and so forth.)
