Will paced the floor of Mike's basement, stressing. In about three minutes, Dustin will have stalled Lucas and Mike long enough for them to push him out of the way and go downstairs. In those minutes, Will was supposed to figure out how to tell his best friends that he was both gay and in love with Dustin.

Well, he was screwed.

'Crap!' Footsteps thundered down the stairs, and he heard Dustin cry, "WILL! THEY'RE COMING!"

Mike was the first downstairs, his face slightly panicked. "Will! What's wrong! Are you hurt?"

"N-no, Mike, I'm..."

Fine would be stretching it. Being, y'know, gay would be like getting handed a death sentence, should word ever get out.

"Dustin, help me out here."

The curly-haired boy jogged over to stand by Will, and the two looked at their friends.

"Mike, Lucas, we... uh..." Dustin began, trailing off. Will reached for Dustin's hand, and their fingers locked.

Lucas noticed this, and his eyes widened. "No way."

Mike's eyes were stormy, and he glared at both of them. "'No way' is right. You guys can't... you shouldn't..."

He turned away, head in his hands. Dustin reached over to put a hand on his shoulder, but Mike violently slapped it away.

"Get off of me, you..." A word was on the tip of his tongue, but he bit it back.

Dustin's face went red, knowing exactly what Mike was going to say. "What is your problem? Why is this a big deal for you? What is so wrong that you can't accept us?"

"Because I loved him, too!" Mike burst out, tears forming in his eyes. "B-before El... I was so sure that he was the one... just... whatever."

He pushed past them, running upstairs. Lucas glanced back at them, worry in his eyes. "I better go make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." He climbed the stairs, stopping after he was almost to the top.

"For what it's worth, I think that you two are perfect for each other."

Will blushed, and Dustin grinned. Someone's on our side.
