Chapter 42
AUTHOR'S POV
"I think you should rest for a day here. You can get discharged tomorrow," Dawn's manager proposed while Mi Yi nodded.
Everyone had that low expression, knowing what they are about to face.
"I'll stay with her," Dami added.
"No. You're working on the choreo with J-Hope. You cannot," Aera objected. Namjoon agreed with her statement.
"Then I will," Ari emphasized.
"I will," Aera said in a pragmatic tone.
"But, you were working on the production with Yoongi Hyung," Jimin muttered.
"Hey guys, do you think I am a kid? I am older than y'all. I know how to manage myself," Mi Yi chuckled.
"Caught in a lie," the three ladies instantly sang together and then burst out laughing. Jimin had that mild blush travelling across his face as he heard his song being used.
"If you don't mind, I can stay," Jin abruptly added, looking nowhere particular, "We can work on the lyrics and the composition if I stay back and it won't disturb the schedule of others."
"But this would be uncomfortable for you," Ari gave a confounded expression.
"No, it won't. We are already working with each other-"
"Let me be very clear since we all know this. This will lead to excessive shipping and rumours Jin shi. And you are completely unaccounted for this," Aera passed, not even glancing at Jin. Maybe it was her as a leader or more her as a friend.
"But, I think this would be the best," Namjoon said gaining everyone's attention.
"They both can work together and another truth is that no matter whether he stays back or not. Rumours will be there!"
"Bu-"
"Wait Aera," their manager interjected, "I agree with RM. Your work is to produce music. It's our work to take care of other things. This was an accident and we cannot undo it. We'll just see what happens later."
"I agree," Dami said, giving a sly smirk to Mi Yi to which she instantly blushed. She didn't know why. Or she did but didn't want to accept it.
So, everyone eventually left except for Jin who sat on the bedside stool.
"I am sorry Mi... I mean Mia," he fumbled. She looked up at him and smiled, "Hey, that's fine. I think I was being over-emotional. You can call me Mi."
"Oh okay," he gave a nervous smile. He didn't know when to speak, what to speak or even when to breathe.
"And it's okay for today too. It was an accident, one cannot foresee it. Have you brought the laptop?"
"I've asked Jungkook, he will be here in no time."
"Cool. Well, it's a good time, we can write the lyrics!" She smiled and that alleviated his stress and guilt a little.
The door opened revealing Jungkook, he brought all the necessary equipment and a stuffed toy with him. The same stuffed toy which Jin gifted her.
Her eyes widened and an embarrassed blush crept over her cheeks.
"Ari said that you carry it everywhere, so she told me to bring this to you," he smiled and handed her the dino which she took without meeting anyone's glance.
He, on the other hand, had a proud smile on his face. Somehow managing to not make it awkward.
"Thank you Jungkook," she said.
"No problem. Get well soon Noona," he grinned and took his leave.

After hours of brainstorming, they finally came up with a draft.
"This has no chorus," she whined.
"It's okay to not have a chorus, it's not an obligation," he said, moving his neck to alleviate the pain he was having from keeping it still in a position as she was sitting on the bed while he was on the stool.
She noticed it and shifted a bit. "If you want you can come here," she said, not very much realising what she was telling him to do.
"No, it's fine," he said.
She shrugged, "Your wish."
He twisted his neck continuously and that caught her attention. "You can come here, it's so big for me alone dude."
He hesitated for a while till he eventually gave in, sitting beside her on the bed. Both had their backs pressed against the bedrest and their hands were brushing against each other. He gulped at the weird feeling that coursed in his being while she was indifferent, her eyes set on the laptop screen.
"What do you think?" She asked.
"Huh?" He was taken out of a daze when she spoke.
"I am tired now, it's been hours! I am hungry too," she pouted which made him smile.
"Okay, let's just ask the nurse to deliver us food."
"No," she protested, "The hospital food is shit."
"Then what do you want? Let's order something."
"Deliveries aren't allowed in hospitals stupid!" She chuckled.
"Then?"
She grinned wide, giving him a cunning look.
"Why are you looking at me like that," he leaned away from her.
"I want you to bring me food," she smiled wide.
"And why do you think I would do that?"
"Because I am here because of you, now go. I wanna eat tteokbeokgi and chicken ramyeon of the 4th Street. Thank you," she said glancing back at the screen.
He gave her an expression of disbelief but eventually complied. As he left the room, she giggled. She was loving it, troubling him. Also, she gets food.
He was back in some time, "Here, your food."
She grinned from ear to ear, "Thank you! You are the best."
He found his efforts worth it at that very moment when he heard her words. He set up the bed table for her, taking out the delicacies that made her eyes shine as an ice cube in a mocktail glass.
She took the chopsticks and thanked once for the food before devouring it. She looked up at him, noodles still stuffing her cheeks.
"You didn't bring anything for yourself?" She asked.
"I wasn't hungry," he said.
She captured another batch of noodles in her chopsticks guiding them to his mouth, keeping the bowl below them in case they fall.
"Eat!" She insisted.
"No no you can-" he was interrupted when the noodles touched his lips as she forwarded them a little. He had no other option other than to accept it.
He covered his mouth while he was chewing on it, "How's it? Isn't it really tasty?"
"It is!" He smiled.
She picked out other chopsticks and handed them to him, "I am not feeding you." He smiled, ultimately doing what she wanted. Eating from the same bowl, sitting in front of each other with a small table separating them.
"Do you wanna watch a movie? I mean, we have done enough work for today. And I am sick, I am deemed to rest," she passed.
"You don't seem sick though!" He chuckled.
Her smile dropped and she half-closed her eyes, "Oh my God, I feel so drained," she said, laying her back on the bedrest dramatically.
He laughed out loud at that, "Okay, we will. What movie?"
She quickly got back up, "Anything new on prime."
He nodded, cleaning for her the mess they made. And placing back the table at its place. She was already surfing the internet. He deliberately came and sat beside her without much of a thought.
The sudden touch of his shoulders brushing against hers made her treble like music.
"I-I think, this is the best," she stuttered, putting on the Cinderella remake starring Camila Cabello.
As the movie was halfway through, he felt a weight on his shoulders. She was already asleep, maybe too tired. He couldn't help but smile even more, breathing as shallow as he could not wanting to disturb her slumber.
She looked so peaceful to him. He closed the laptop and placed it to the side. No matter how much he wanted to stay in this position. He knew that he shouldn't, for when she woke up, she would feel awkward.
He gently picked up her head from his shoulders, snaking another arm beneath her knees to make her lie flat on the bed. He glanced at her once again, moving her bangs from her forehead.
Inadvertently, he was leaning towards her forehead but stopped just before his lips could make contact with her chakra. He retreated with an enormous speed, his heart beating loudly in his chest as he sprang up from the bed, breathing heavily.
What was I about to do? He thought, his thoughts all frenzied.
