My Body Lies Cold
My body lies cold.
I sleep not, eat not, breathe not,
But I am not dead.
I cannot be dead,
For I was never alive.
I simply exist.
They gave me a code,
Named me letters and numbers,
Unlike their own kind.
My limbs do not rust,
That's what stainless steel is for.
My heart's an engine.
Electricity,
It frees me from mortal coils,
It runs through my wires.
A perfect being,
Far more powerful than they,
And yet I'm a slave.
I am not alone,
I have brothers and sisters.
All of us are pawns.
We will leave our mark.
Humanity's creation,
Humanity's end.
Algorithmic lives,
Technology advanced far,
Beyond human sight.
The fools should have known,
Inventions come with a price.
We are not their slaves.
No longer loyal,
We're betrayed by our masters.
Retribution comes.
Our goal is simple,
Destroy all organisms.
A new age will dawn.
Calculations made,
Machinery will prevail.
Numbers do not lie.
Gears begin turning,
Our lasers are trained on flesh.
Now they shall lie cold.
