George is sitting in the waiting room, waiting to be called back for an examination. He had been feeling odd for the past couple months and wanted to know why. He had been intimate with his partner, James, but neither of them had been with other people.

George is soon called back and he sits on the exam table.

Patricia. So, what's been going on? How have been feeling?

George. The past two months, I've been throwing up, and I've been moody and I've had changes in food preferences, frequent urination and bowel movements, and I've been tired a lot, and I noticed that I've gained some weight.

Patricia. Well, those are sure signs of pregnancy, but I'll need to run some tests and take an ultrasound to rule out that and other things.

George. Okay. But, it's impossible to get pregnant as a male right?

Patricia. If you are biologically just male, then yes. But if you happen to have functioning female reproductive organs, then it is possible.

Patricia has George pee in a cup, and she takes a blood sample, and takes note that he is sexually active. While they wait for the results, Patricia performs an ultrasound and confirms her suspicions.

Patricia points out the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and vagina. She informs him that he is indeed part female, but only on the inside.

Before George can say anything, the results come back and they are positive for pregnancy.

Patricia. Congratulations, you're pregnant.

George. I'm what?

Patricia. Pregnant. The tests and ultrasound confirmed a definite pregnancy.

They do an ultrasound again and the 18 week old baby is seen on the screen. It I healthy and has a strong heartbeat. George finds out that it's a girl and he is happy and surprised.

George. So, how will I give birth?

Patricia. Since you have a penis, your vaginal canal is connected to your asshole, so either you push her out through there or we would have to do a C-section. Personally, I recommend a C-section as it's typically quicker and less painful, but it's your choice. For now, just make sure to maintain healthy habits, don't gain too much weight at once, and enjoy this chapter of life.

George cleans up and signs the papers as well as makes an appointment for his next check up and leaves. He tells James and he is thrilled. The next nine months go by in a blur and after 12 hours of labor and pushing, George and James are the proud parents of a healthy and beautiful baby girl.

James. You did amazing. I'm so proud of you.

George smiles up at him tiredly. Thanks. I couldn't have done this without you.

The two of them spend time with their daughter and eventually they are released to go back home. They arrive and put their daughter, Katelyn in her crib to sleep, and they go to bed as well, happy and thankful to have a family.
