She sat beside me and I looked at her. Her smile seemed so easy and soft. She looked at me with her big, beautiful brown eyes. I couldn't believe I had let her be taken from me so easily. But then again she was never mine.

I should've told her how I felt. But now I can't because she belongs to my best friend. She put her hand in mine and smiled. I couldn't believe we got along so well. I saw the jealousy behind Jim's eyes, but then he relaxed because he knew I wouldn't take her away. I wouldn't destroy him like that. Not by taking away the person who made up his entire world.

I wanted her, yes, but I wouldn't try to take her from him.

I had my chance and I blew it. She could've easily been mine. But I lost that battle. Now she was his... And I was alone.
