UNDEFINED L O V E
"Life's twists and turns are like a puzzle, each piece falling into place, revealing a beautiful picture we never saw coming."
Happy reading.....
Shaziya walked through the opulent corridors of the shopping mall, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension.
Naim had brought her here for engagement shopping, a gesture meant to ease her transition into a new phase of her life. As they moved from one boutique to another, Shaziya's shyness became more pronounced. She was overwhelmed by the grandeur of it all, a stark contrast to the simple, budget-conscious life she had known.
From a young age, Shaziya had been accustomed to frugality. After her father's sudden death from a heart attack when she was just fifteen, she had stepped in to support her mother and younger sister, Safiya. They managed a small grocery store, and every penny mattered. Shaziya had learned to budget expenses carefully, understanding the weight of financial responsibility at an early age. Her dreams of further education were sacrificed so that her sister could pursue her own goals.
Now, in this lavish mall, Shaziya felt a pang of discomfort as she looked at the price tags of the clothes. She had always been modest in her choices, her wardrobe a reflection of the simple life she had led. Naim, with his easy confidence and taste for luxury, seemed to choose items based on what he liked rather than what she might feel comfortable in.
Naim picked up a sleek, modern dress and held it up to her. It was stylish, far removed from Shaziya's usual attire. She hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Her fingers grazed the fabric, but her heart was heavy with the weight of her own reservations.
"I think this would look great on you," Naim said, his eyes bright with enthusiasm. He didn't seem to notice her discomfort.
Shaziya offered a faint smile, trying to mask her unease.
"It's very nice," she said quietly, hoping her voice didn't betray her reluctance. She had hoped that Naim might ask her opinion or involve her in the decision-making process, but instead, he continued selecting items he thought would suit her.
As they moved from store to store, Shaziya's mind wandered back to simpler times. The memory of the small grocery shop, the shared responsibilities with her mother, and the dreams she had shelved for her sister's sake felt like a distant echo. She wished she could express her own preferences, but every time she attempted to voice them, the words seemed to get lost in her throat.
Her heart ached with the realization that this new chapter of her life, filled with luxury and expectations, was so different from the life she had known. Shaziya wanted to feel comfortable and true to herself amidst all the changes. She longed for the freedom to make choices that reflected her own tastes and preferences.
With a sigh, she silently hoped that, in time, Naim would come to understand her better.
For now, she would accept his choices, hoping that one day she could express her own desires more openly. The opulence of the mall felt overwhelming, but she held onto the hope that this new phase of her life would eventually align with her true self.
----
The jewelry section of the mall was an opulent maze of sparkling gems and glittering displays. Shaziya stood there, her mind lost in a haze of discomfort and uncertainty.
Naim had stepped away to take a call, leaving her alone amid the luxurious surroundings. The sheer extravagance of the jewelry seemed to amplify her own feelings of inadequacy.
She shifted uneasily, feeling the weight of several curious gazes on her. As she turned to survey the area, she noticed a group of young men glancing her way with uninvited attention. Their stares were invasive, making her skin crawl. She tried to ignore them, but the sensation of being scrutinized made her increasingly uneasy.
In search of a brief escape, she decided to get a bottle of water from a nearby stand. She unscrewed the cap, her hands trembling slightly, and began to take a sip.
Just as she was about to drink, a sudden jostle startled her. The bottle slipped from her grasp and clattered to the floor, spilling water everywhere.
Shaziya spun around, her heart racing, to find a middle-aged man leering at her with a disturbing grin. His eyes, glazed and unsettling, seemed to pierce through her. She felt a chill run down her spine.
"What are you doing?" she managed to stammer, her voice shaking.
The man's grin widened. "I came to get some water too, but it seems you're blocking the way," he said, his tone dripping with a menacing edge. As he spoke, he made a move toward her, his intentions all too clear.
Before he could reach her, a firm hand grabbed his shoulder, yanking him away.
Shaziya gasped, her eyes widening as she turned to see a young man in a sleek black suit standing between her and the unwanted intruder.
His demeanor exuded an air of authority and confidence.
The young man didn't waste any time. He delivered a powerful punch to the man's face, sending him crashing to the ground. Shaziya's breath caught in her throat, her eyes wide with shock.
"I've been watching you," the young man said, his voice icy and commanding. "Your intentions were clear, and I won't stand by while you harass a woman in broad daylight."
The middle-aged man tried to argue, but the young man remained unfazed. He pointed towards the mall's CCTV cameras and issued a stern warning. "I have proof of what you've done. If you don't want to face legal consequences, you'd better apologize right now."
Fear clouded the man's eyes as he scrambled to his knees. "I'm sorry! Please, forgive me!" he begged, his voice trembling.
Shaziya, still stunned by the sudden turn of events, could barely process what was happening.
She watched as the young man turned to her, his expression softening slightly. "Are you okay?" he asked with genuine concern.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm fine," Shaziya replied, her voice barely above a whisper. She offered a heartfelt thanks. "Thank you so much for your help. I don't know what I would have done without you."
The young man nodded, a warm smile playing at his lips. "It's minimum courtesy as a citizen. Just doing my part."
With that, he turned and walked away, his confident strides echoing in the lavish surroundings.
Shaziya watched him go, a mixture of relief and admiration washing over her. His actions had not only rescued her from a troubling situation but had also restored a glimmer of hope in her heart. In a world that often seemed filled with indifference, here was someone who stood up for what was right, a beacon of integrity and courage.
As she stood alone in the jewelry section, her mind still spinning from the encounter, she couldn't help but feel that, despite the shadows that occasionally darkened her path, there were still good people in the world.
People who would act selflessly, just like this young man, and bring a touch of humanity back into an often unforgiving world.
