Gidget stood frozen stiff as Luther came closer and closer. She was urging herself to move but her body would not listen to her brain. Her paws were glued to the floor. All she could focus on was Luther's gleaming fangs. If Tiberius hadn't shoved her out of the way, she would've been caught in those jaws.

Realizing that she had just been pushed out of harm's way, Gidget looked up from where she was laying sprawled out on the floor. Her heart lurched when she saw Luther with his jaws clamped down on Tiberius's back. Holding onto the hawk with his teeth digging into his flesh, the Doberman threw him across the room. Gidget leapt to her paws, ready to save her friend. However, she didn't get very far when Dolly pinned her to the ground. She could only watch the horror unfold.

"I thought eagles were tough," Luther sneered as he slowly and deliberately made his way towards Tiberius. Towering over the old hawk, he added on, "But you're nothing but a weak pigeon." Baring his teeth, the Doberman went for the throat. Looking over at Gidget apologetically, Tiberius murmured, "Hawk." Then he struck out with his right leg, talons finding their mark.

Howling in pain, Luther whacked Tiberius, sending the old hawk crashing into a long metal pillar holding up the warehouse. Falling to the ground, Tiberius didn't get back up. Luther smiled, his work complete. But the damage had already been done to him as the Doberman bled heavily from a terrible wound in his throat caused by the old hawk. Gasping for air, he collapsed in a heap.

Luther was dead before he hit the ground.
