Halting in their tracks, Gidget and Tiberius stared at Dolly in horror. They had been so close to escaping. Now their hopes had been quickly dashed away as the Jack Russell terrier advanced towards them. Stopping at two feet in front of them, she sat down and licked her paw.

"So Princess, how's your life been?" Dolly asked. Blinking her green eyes teasingly, she taunted, "Doing anything with your boyfriend who doesn't love you? Oh wait, nobody loves you." She snickered at that last part like it was the greatest joke in all the world. Snarling, Tiberius glared at the female terrier. Gidget's fur, meanwhile, bristled in anger. Seeing their reaction, Dolly smiled wickedly and sneered with venom in her voice, "Oh... I see. You moved on to this sack of bones. Beauty and the Beast, I love it. It's so cute."

"What do you want from me?" Gidget growled, standing her ground. Getting up to her paws, Dolly began pacing the floor. There was a sense of purpose in her step as she paced back and forth. Turning to look at Gidget, the terrier snarled, "Revenge. You ruined my life. I'm gonna ruin yours."

"I never did anything to you," Gidget pointed out.

"No," Dolly retorted poisonously, "You stole the love of my life. I have always been in love with Max but like he would ever pay attention to a stray dog like me. Then you came along and took him!" Taking a deep breath to calm herself down, she grinned sinisterly and continued, "Luckily, I found someone much better."

All of the sudden, Luther jumped out of hiding, lunging towards Gidget with gaping jaws...
